The career I plan on pursuing is a welder. I choose welding because I think it’s a fun job to do and the hours and the pay are good. Facts about welders are we work long days and get paid a lot of money for the jobs we do.
You don’t need a college degree to be a welder. All you will need is a high school diploma and a certification paper. Some jobs start you off at $18.94 to $50.00 an hour. Over a year period you would have made $50,000 to $185,000 a year. Welder uses rods and brass to put metals together. They also fill holes by using fire to melt the metal together and when you do that it close all holes and gaps in your metal or metals. If you need to unjoin two pieces of metals you will have to cut it with a torch and you have to cut it just right you can’t mess the metal

In most welding you will need to know how to study blueprints, sketches, or specification calculates. Welding is the best way of permanently joining metal parts because welding is used in building ships, buildings, and cars. Welding is good for repair because the welds will not come apart unless you cut it with a torch. Welding also is used to join steel beams in the construction of buildings, bridges, and other structures and to join pipes in pipelines. The work that welders do and the equipment they use all come from the company they work with. Arc welding is the most common type of welding today because arc welding takes time and the welds can go there just about anything and it want come apart. The type of weld normally is determined by the types of / being joined and the conditions under which the welding is to take place. Welders are often exposed to a number of hazards, including very hot materials and the intense light created by the arc if you stare at the light without the proper eye protection it can cause you to go blind. They wear safety shoes, heat-resistant gloves, goggles, masks with protective lenses. It is important they were this whenever there are working so they
The skills needed for welding are a steady hand for clean weldings, a stable head for welding in difficult or stressful positions, you need to be able to do at least basic math, also endurance, and problem solving.
To become a welder you need to know a lot , different rods, different types of welding to learn all this you need the right training , there are many technical schools and colleges where you can go to find out the basics of welding. there are many types of welding one of the biggest is stick welding there is also flux core, tig, mig. on the pipeline there is a lot of
Welding is a great career choice for a person not wanting to go to college. There are all different types of welding careers to explore, and a person can choose the one he would most enjoy. The wages of a welder are better than most technical jobs. When you go to welding school you can start working a lot faster than any other career. Trained welders seldom have trouble finding gainful employment.
Explosion welding is unique, because it is the only kind of welding that can join any metal together into a single piece known as clad. Two metals are placed together with an explosive powder in between. When designated about 2 million pounds of downward force join the two pieces together. Originated in World War I and II, after strap metal became welded onto pieces armor.
Welding is a process used to join metal parts by producing a coalescence, called a weld, at a joint. Advances in welding technology have opened the way for innovative designs in structures and machinery. Of modern welding processes, the greatest number fall under the general classifications of arc welding, gas welding and cutting, resistance welding, and brazing.
The definition of welding is a process where two or more pieces of metal are fastened together by the use of heat and pressure. The welder I am using is a Miller 350p MIG. This welder has three processes it can do: MIG welding, pulsed MIG and flux-cored MIG welding. MIG welding works by forming one droplet of molten metal at the end of the electrode poss the arc and into the puddle. Pulsed MIG welding is a non-contact transfer method between the electrode and the weld puddle. This means that the electrode never touches the puddle. This is accomplished through high-speed manipulation of the electrical output of the welding machine. It is designed to be a spatterless process. It runs at a lower heat input than a spray or globular transfer method.er pulse. Then, the right amount of current is added to push that one droplet acr A weld is only as strong as your thickest metal you are welding (Farnsworth 147) (Miller) (Kadubek)(Borchert 169).
If you want to be a welder, and actually have a career, you can go to a welding school and learn how to weld, or you can try to be a welders helper and just learn the trade. Welding can be a tough job if you don’t know what you are doing or you do not enjoy doing it. Welding is a fabrication or sculptural process that joins materials together (Modern Welding). This is the process that uses fuel gases and oxygen to make a molten pool of metal to fuse together two pieces of metal, called puddeling (oxy-fuel welding and cutting. Wikipedia). If you decide to weld as your profession, most welding school students have little trouble finding jobs and finding people certified to weld correctly (Welding.Wikipedia).
What i learn about being a pipe welder that you can make a lot of money and it's in demand. Pipe welding can be risky because you could lose a hand or go blind. But someone gotta do the job. That's why there is not that many people welding and there are robots that can weld now but the robots don't do a good job.Welding you can go anywhere in life.Pipe welding you can be successful too. Most people are starting to pipe welding in high school to learn a
Then I am going to talk about education and training for welding. If you want to be a welder you have to have a high school diploma and have good grades. Some places have on the job training where the person wants this one job and they train them on that one job or if you are not good at that they will find something that you can do. For example Lendals have on the job training. If the job you want does not have on the job training you can go to like SCC college and get welding training there. I would go to Scc milford and i would go for 2 years and every thing will cost
Although there are many career choices out there in the world I would love to be in the career in welding for multiple reasons. I chose this career because i love the fact that there's multiple different types of welding positions, and it's a great trade to meet new people and work hard in.i decided on this career because i have had experienced with some welding and i enjoyed it. i even researched some different techniques you can use to weld different types of metal. There are specific personality types or skills required for this career. some are interpersonal skills such as being self motivated. Also having a skill of problem solving will help to. “Math and science skills are used daily for welders because they have
Becoming a welder is a solid career choice that allows one to have a higher rate of pay, greater job security, and outstanding career opportunity. One of the benefits of becoming a welder is higher rate of pay. A union worker’s income per week is around $970. A non-union worker makes up to $763 per week. 82% of union workers have paid sick leave.
Welding is the process of joining pieces of metal or other parts by heating the surfaces to the point of melting using a blow torch, electric arc, or other means. This careers demand has skyrocketed in recent years. According to Tri-County Technical College, welding is ranked as one of the top ten fastest growing career fields in South Carolina by the US Department of Labor (“Welding Associate's Degree”). Welding is a very meticulous career, to be a welder you have to be focused, careful and you have to have an extensive knowledge of the field to be successful. Welding requires a variety of skill sets. If a person has a variety of skills and experience doors will open up for positions such as: shipbuilding, automotive repair, and construction.
People don't think that a career in welding is an ideal because they don't think it a money making job and that you work all day and all week and don't get paid enough for the work that is done. In reality in welding has a starting pay of $85,000 dollars a year and work your way up the ranks to make more money. The further you get the company they will usually
GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) is more economic; Springer reports that “ GMAW is an economic process because it has higher speeds and higher deposition rates than manual arc welding. There is also no need to constantly change electrodes” ( Page 11). GMAW has a higher speed, which means that you can get the job done faster. It also has high deposition rates which makes the weld look clean and smooth.” This method can be used for a high range of work, but it is not suited for repair work because of it’s weld quality” (Page 4). This process can be used for many variations of work including root welds, joints, T’s, butts, laps, and many more applications. Even though its used for many practices, it is not recommended to use this method for
Usually bond two dissimilar metals are joined using this process of welding, especially to weld one metal over a base metal extending to large areas. Production of corrosion free sheets and plate stock for making processing equipment for different operations in the chemical industries and petroleum industries are the major applications. Explosion welding general requires no filling metals, and external agencies for production of heat are also not required. Diffusion does not occur during the processes. The metal parts are metallurgically bonded, in many cases it results in a mechanical interlocking that is occurred as locking formed by a rippled or wavy interfaces between the surface of metals. The process of welding one metal plate on another can be described with help of Figure
