Source A is reliable but does not fully support the assertion. Source A, taken from a British-based research in 1997, intends to show how Mao’s preventive healthcare measures improved the peasants’ quality of life but “sparrowcide” had resulted in people having lesser grain as they were eaten by insects. Source A states that Mao had implemented the measures such as “basic healthcare and preventive services”, closing brothels and running campaigns against opium use to bring diseases and vices under control. However, by eradicating the sparrows in the Four Pests Campaign, “the insects ... now devoured the grains instead”.

I. INTRODUCTION Land use is a field of law (and policy) that is becoming increasingly diverse, complex, and interdisciplinary in the Twenty-First century. To become an effective land use practitioner, a new lawyer must develop broad knowledge and skills. Two leading scholars in the field declared recently that teaching students to become effective land use practitioners “is no longer possible using the traditional approach to legal education. ”1
Aboriginal Land Rights Aboriginal Australians have always had an eternal bond with the land. For the 50,000 years or more, they have occupied the continent; the land provided not only the basic needs, but also the spiritual beliefs. In the Dreaming, the forms of the land, mountains, rivers, landscapes and animals took shape and the spirit of ancestors resided in places that became sacred sites to the Aboriginal people. The land to these people were their most precious commodity. When white settlement began in Australia in 1788, the concept of terra nullius {the land belonging to no-one} was adopted by the British.
Historically, land ownership in America has been basing on the racial disparity and it still applies even now at the post-slavery periods. Though some groups of Americans have associated land ownership with American promise of liberty, equality and democracy, the promise of achieving liberty through this was not open to all. This is because earlier in history the black Americans had no right to own land and later when they were allowed to own, they were not allowed to do what they wanted with it. They were used as source of labor in the whites’ farms. They tended to be tenants of wealthy white landowners where they worked for sub-poverty wages and practiced subsistence farming. The government also imposed heavy taxation to the blacks who bought
There are many fold songs that go unheard. But when you go back to the roots of folk music, there is one that most every American recognizes. "This Land Is Your Land" has been a staple of Americana for nearly 75 years.
Land is something our world has always fought over. We, humans, claim land as our own property. However, we forget that we still have to share our property with other organisms. Other non-human mammals, amphibians, insects, and more also claim that land as their own too. Humans sometimes forget that we are a part of something greater: the ecosystem. Ecosystems contain a multitude of life forms. Each and every life form is important.
Land law is split into two separate but related units. Land Law 1 and Land Law II. Land Law I deals with foundations of property law and Land Law II deals with Proprietary Rights and transactions.
In, “The Land Use Act, 1978” author J.K Agbosu considers the role of the act in the context of class relations in Nigeria. Namely, Agbosu (1988) argues that "The Land Use Act, 1978, is a product of the inherent contradictions of the colonial and neo-colonial dependent, pseudo-capitalist. economic structures established in Nigeria since colonial times" (1). Agbosu furthers this argument by proposing that the reason that the act, is in part contradictory to the norms of everyday Nigerians is the failure of legislators to look beyond their own classed perspectives and consider, “[a] solution that not only abolished private ownership rights in land but also abolished private ownership of other means of production" (1). Indeed, Agbosu takes a decidedly Marxist perspective in his analysis of the law. However, the crux of the argument, which is that the post-Colonial state offers its citizens no new possibilities in its application of citizenship rights, is valuable to the discussion of democracy in Africa.
