In “We Are Remarkably Loud Not Masked” by Juan Felipe Herrera, the speaker emphasizes the remembrance of victims. He tells the stories of four causalities. He then calls the people to action and march. Herrera expressed, “because of you, you we march” (stanza 10-11). This is to make change in our communities, and their voices to be heard. The title also leads to the theme of the story. The title is expressing that these people’s stories have impact and should not be hidden. Additionally, this poem allows the reader to connect and sympathize with these stories. It builds a bridge for the reader of the atrocities that happened.
