Although Walt went through many struggles and problems, he pushed on and eventually saw results for all his hard work. Although the best reasons for “going to the movies” are to be entertained and eat popcorn, understanding a film is actually quite complex. Movies are not only a reflection of life, they also have the capability of shaping our norms, values, attitudes, and perception of life. Through the media of film, one can find stories of practically anything imaginable and some things unimaginable. Movie-makers use their art to entertain, to promote political agendas, to educate, and to present life as it is, was, or could be. They can present truth, truth as they interpret it, or simply ignore truth altogether. A movie can be a work of fiction, non-fiction, or anything in-between. A film is an artist’s interpretation. What one takes away from a film depends upon how one interprets what has been seen and heard. Understanding film is indeed difficult.

The Narrative “Confessions of a Shusher” by Phillip Lopate creates a vivid image of the atmosphere of a movie theater that contains an annoying or irritating person or couple. The purpose of this writing piece is to express the frustration of the people surrounding those who do not partake in correct movie etiquette and also how society has possibly lost its sense of respect for other persons. He is trying to convey the struggle between those who consider themselves to be “shushers” and those who do not like to be solitude in public.

For most people, movies are made for entertainment. However, there are also movies that go beyond merely entertaining its audience. There are films that have been created making use of psychological principles, which enrich the movie-viewing experience of audiences. In the two thousand four film “Mean Girls” there is a sense of entertainment that helps in combining all the aspects found in a classical film. Classical films having a entertaining and dramatic plot, and a excellent cast.

Movie trailers are arguably the most important marketing tool for films before they are released. Viewers create a first impression of the film according to its trailer, and trailers tend to persuade moviegoers to either watch the film or not watch the film. It is also a ground for the film to advertise the actors and directors that worked on the project. A-list actors and directors have loyal followings, and these fans will surely enjoy seeing their stars on screen. Emotion also plays a significant role in persuasion during the viewing of a trailer. Suspense, action, horror, and comedy all fuel different emotions that create favorability or dislike amongst viewers. While there are many reasons to watch a certain film, I will examine the rhetorical forces behind our innate connection to certain types of movies, in addition to providing personal reasons behind my choice of The Revenant. Through examination of my personal opinions, I will use The Revenant as a tool to discuss the rhetorical arguments provided by Alejandro Innaritu, and further analyze the role of movie trailers in persuasion.

There are many iconic people during the twentieth century that changed America. But among the most iconic people, Walt Disney was considered the most iconic. He grew up in a poor family, and his studio went bankrupt and as a result, his company became successful and he became wealthy, showing that even though bad things can happen, it's still possible to rise from them. Although Snow White isn’t anything remarkable with today’s computer-generated graphics, the hand-drawn film was groundbreaking at the time. The high profit from Snow White inspired Disney to relocate and expand his studio in order to facilitate all of his animation needs (Wingert). This upcoming state-of-the-art studio would open up several new opportunities for the Disney Company.

In a world where technology is rapidly developing and evolving, it is sometimes hard to keep up with the changes that are made. When looking back on changes that are made it is particularly interesting to look at the development of animation over history. Today when one thinks about animation it is impossible not to think of Disney and their major motion pictures. The Shreck films, Finding Nemo, and Happy Feet, to name just some of the dozens of animated films Disney has produced, raked in million upon millions of dollars at the box office, and have been hit films with people in all age groups.

In the 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the tale revolutionized and began a Golden Age of animation. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the very first full length animated motion picture as well as the first film to release a motion-picture soundtrack recording in 1944 by the Disney studio.
