"BEEP BEEP BEEP" My alarm goes off and I jump out of bed to turn off the terrible noise. I looked at the time. 6:45 am. I should have woken up 45 minutes ago! I run down stairs and pour some cereal and eat it without milk. I run back upstairs into the bathroom and wash my face, brushing quickly through my hair, and back into my room and change into new clothes I had laid out the night before, pale jeans with a few rips and a frayed seam at the ankle, and a white T-shirt. I grab my favorite cat pillow I slept on, and shove it into my bag with everything else. I grab my purse and unplug my phone and put it in my purse. I go downstairs and grab a granola bar and put it in my purse too. I run upstairs again and bang on my mom's door. "Mom! Wake
I got to my apartment and had a huge headache. I shouldn’t have drank that much well off to sleep for me. I did my homework at the library earlier so I don’t need to do that. This is the one week I do it anyway. I yawn once more and climb into my dark bed sheets.I snuggle underneath and drift off to sleep. If only I knew someone was watching me the whole day. I woke up the next day, showered, and brushed my hair for the weekend. I love weekends, no school and no worries. I closed the curtains of my bay window so the whole room would be dark and went down stairs to the burning smell of pancakes. Uck… I hate pancakes.
Sleep is needed for the brain, because during sleep, important body functions and brain activity occurs. Unfortunately today, people are forgetting the reasons why sleep is so important. Wondering about it? Here, let me tell you. The reasons are because, naps can’t replace sleeping, the physical and mental part of your body is getting affected, and not getting enough sleep is called sleep debt. This is why sleeping plays an important role in the success of our life.
The benefits of napping varies from person to person. Some people tend to be very cranky and drowsy while others tend to be full of energy. Like me for example; I don't do to well with napping , most of the time I barely take a nap. Mostly because of the pain my body indures every single day of my life. Even before the pain started , I never really liked napping that often.
Starting January 26th (Friday) at 1:30 PM I began to log my activity ranging from doing my homework to going to soccer practices and games, to see what time I went to sleep every night. I continued to log this data until February 4th (Thursday) at approximately at 10:45 PM. In the recent studies where we began to log our sleep and social media usage data, it made me realize how much time I spend on homework, social media, extracurriculars, and everyday tasks. This data gave me an overview on how I should prioritize my homework while balancing extracurricular activities. Along with that, I was also able to keep track of the amount of hours I got of sleep every night and how that factored into my everyday tasks.
The beautiful caring spirit that leads you through life is all I could ever ask for from one such as yourself not to keep from the world but to place you on a pedestal for all to see. However, not as a trophy but one to be admired as a example of a true being of what others try so hard to achieve with little success. A true self of a flower constantly blooming each waking day. Only to have been placed on earth from a heaven no human has seen. She is my friend this one. Yet not one of a kind but my kind. For my friends.
You scared me!" I said I lowered my shotgun to my side; a 'Meow' came from the big, brown, hairy cat. I placed my shotgun on the kitchen table then walked over to the alarm panel and punch in the code which silenced it. I re-entered the code to arm my small apartment. My phone rang a minute later, I knew it would be the alarm company, I told them it was my cat and no need to call the police, after a few minutes of confirming some information I hung up. I grabbed a broom from the small cleaning closet and started to sweep up the broken vase on the floor, until I heard a creak outside from my apartment door. My head popped up, I placed my broom gently against a wall and stepped towards the front door. I peered out the peep hole and to my relief saw my neighbors walking down the hall. I returned to clean up the small mess; after I did I chose to start my day. I went over to the coffee maker and started the coffee. As the coffee was making I went off to my bathroom and took a shower, I listened to some music to help me get my day going. I stepped out of my bedroom half an hour later, dressed with my hair wrapped in a towel. I poured myself a cup of coffee and popped myself a pop tart and watched channel 4 local
There is an interesting dynamic when it comes to teenagers and their sleep during the night. Sleep is important for teens since they have to go to school, and most schools require these students to wake up early in the morning to attend classes. After a long day of working hard in the classrooms, teenagers want to escape from their schoolwork and immerse themselves into activities that promote happiness. They resort to activities like talking on the phone, partying, listening to music, watching television, etc. Teenagers often stay up late at night indulging into these social activities. Although the adolescent community may think this behavior is cool, it is critical for them to understand how it is harming their body. Teens who consistently
I would call myself an aspiring globetrotter, for I am the kind of person that is staunchly determined once my mind is set on something, and my heart and mind are set on travel, enamored with what the rest of the world has to offer. I had been out of the country before, but this was the first time I’d left the continent and traveled the Pacific. I thought I was prepared for my adventure, knowing what to expect and what it would look like, but I didn’t. From the moment I stepped off the plane in a new country abroad, it was a constant submersion in the unexpected. Every waking moment of the day I was in a constant state of admiration and disbelief for the absolute beauty, culture, and history Italy held. I had never been so inspired by a person
Waking up everyday at 6:00 am to do nothing but work changes a person. Summer days of nothing but sweat, blood, tears while all the other kids around you play. The valuable lessons you learn from experiences is unlike any other, it can turn one person from lazy to one of the hardest workers this country has seen.
Couple bumping into each other, girl waking up from an alarm clock, couple lost in the jungle and find a cabin which magically has clothes that fit them, the slut (& blonde) cheerleader/popular girl, the horny and sexually frustrated teenage guys, the truth and dare kiss game, the girl (almost) getting raped at a party but the hero saves her on time, the always-blushing nerd, and the list goes on.
The behavior change I decided to focus on is: getting more sleep every day. For this, the article I chose is: Why Is Sleep Important. Sleeping plays a key role in maintaining a healthy life as it affects our mental activities, as well as physical health. When we sleep, the same as when we are awake, we tend to process information outside our conscious awareness. Whenever we are asleep, we may think our brains turns off but it is always still active because of the biological rhythm that is has. Having enough sleep helps us humans, and living things in general, ameliorate our immune system and gives our neurons time to repair themselves. Another benefit of sleeping enough is the fact that it helps rebuild the memories that may have faded, it reactivates them. Sleeping boosts your creativity. In fact, people who sleep on a task after having worked on it, tend to solve difficult problems more effectively. It also supports growth by releasing a hormone that is necessary for muscle development.
You must have heard about the connection between a good night’s sleep and a healthy productive day, tons of times. Understandably so, because these two things are related to each other like two sides of the same coin, you cannot have one without the other. So the big picture question is simple, how to achieve the perfect sleep every night, so that you wake up every morning, fresh, fit, and raring to go to do everything that you are supposed to do? The answer, is simple, and it is that you need to follow a few important rules to constantly sleep like a baby every night and have a fantastic morning, resulting in an amazing day. So without further ado, let’s take a look at those tips.
Even though it didn’t seem as if I had slept very long, I woke up, and saw it was two in the afternoon. I thought that was weird. Why didn’t Mom wake me up? Even if it’s accidentally, Mom seemed to always wake me up on the weekends—my alarm clock did that job for me on weekdays. My mom vacuums, yells at my dad, and plays her eighties’ pop cassettes most mornings—loudly. Then I realized something: Mom told me last night that she and Dad were driving a few hours
I am awaken by the sunlight coming from my window as if someone was pointing a flash light on my eyelids. I grab my phone to check what time it is. My phone reads eight o’clock. I can’t recall the last time I woke up this early, especially on a weekend. I struggle to get out of my nice, cold, and comfortable bed, but I eventually do. As I walk downstairs to the kitchen, I hear the noise of a knife hitting the cutting board. “Breakfast, the most important meal of the day,” my brother says as he cuts the meat. He then gets a measuring cup and fills it with oatmeal, adds a little bit of water and heats it up for a couple of seconds and takes it right back out. He then begins adding some honey on top, “this is going to
Picking up my head followed by my body, I reach over my bed to get my phone. Turning my phone on, I hear my mom scream up to me, “Sofia you need to get into the shower now!” Hopping out of my bed my sister comes racing out of her room storming down the stairs. Not knowing what her problem was nor caring, I grab a towel from the closet, place it onto the rack and get into the shower. After singing like a total freak in the shower, I calmly pick up my phone looking at the time not noticing it was already 7:00 and check my social media for a good ten minutes. Finally realizing I was running late, I quickly blow dry my hair and throw whatever clothes on that I see. I grab my shoes, book bag and sprint directly to the door. I say goodbye to my parents and both my dogs, Torino and Gus, which I never normally do that, but I just did that day for some reason.
