Bump! Set! Spike! They say sports don’t come naturally, but volleyball did for me. I had never even played before. As I grew up I have grown to love it. Volleyball for me is an escape. Some us music I use volleyball. I’ve played in elementary, middle, and now high school. Forth grad a year care free year. I bring a paper home from school about some sport called volleyball. When I got home that day I gave the paper to my mom and she had asked me if I wanted to try out I said sure. The next day I went to tryouts and they taught us what to do and then we did it on our own. The coach was amazed at how good I was and how I’ve never even played. I made the team and played that year and next and also played to try out in middle school. The start
“How could you live in such a dreadful place?” The sun poured down on us like you were in the desert the shade of the trees tried shying away from the sun. However one great man said, “It is just as hot for the other team as it is for you.” So we competed each game as if it was our last. We were in the land of Omaha, Nebraska.
I gave my life to you literally my life to you but i guess being tied down is not what you wanted need space to breathe I believe is what you want but shit what would I know all I know is I gave you my heart Nd you took it, if you walk away my entire world will crumble my happiness will go away and I will have nothing she might as well kill me if we are being honest i guess pretty girls do put boys in cemeteries I’m not the one for her I see now I don’t even believe she really even loved me I was just a fly by like a plane in the sky no where near where it’s supposed to land I was just a past time like baseball is to America she never loved me I don’t think The more and more this is on my mind the more it weighs on me that she will leave me
It is a cold grey afternoon with a dull sky and ragged clouds. The last leaf on the tree was finally blown off by the wind, the leaves crunched beneath your feet as you walk on it. The awful smell of dried leaves filled the air and out in the distance, the leafless tree’s branches wobbled around as the wind pushed and blow them around. The dark clouds look furious but me and my younger brother, Allie are happy as hell. We just got a new baseball ball gifted from my older brother, D.B.
CHAINS I took my first step into Westwood high school as a senior wearing my new Christian Louboutin heels. Home of the eagles and of course ME, Taylor Simmons. I’m the IT girl of the school and I know it
What do you think when you hear volleyball; serve, bit, pass, net and ball. It's so much more than that it's aggression, passion, oomph, uphill battle, and love. At first I thought volleyball was just for fun, but then one day that all changed. "Hurry up and make sure that you have everything you need," my mom shouted. "Okay, I'll be out in a minute," I replied. I promptly jammed my shoes into my bag, zipped it and rushed out my bedroom and down to the front door. My mom rushed in and said, "Let's go." We seemed to accelerate down the road. As we approached the gymnasium the car and dashed into the building. Legion points into the game everyone started to glance around frantically
I have been playing volleyball for as long as I can remember. From playing in club volleyball tournaments in the spring to bumping the volleyball around in my living room, I spend most of time playing or practicing for a sport. Most people believe that the only reason kids play sports is because they have athletic skill. I believe that playing a sport is more than just becoming the best player physically, but becoming the best player that your team needs you to be.
explained what was going to happen and things with my little sisters and me but they both as in my mom and dad said I can choose what I want to do because I am mature enough to make my own decisions I said thank you she said you're welcome I walk down went to my room and thought some more and cried. but I just haven't had anything major happened in my life since I can remember so I'm not sure how to react or what to do I Center my bed and watch TV I just sit there and stare into my wall not sure why there just didn't seem to be anything else to do basketball practice starts tomorrow and I wasn't looking forward to that at all I honestly didn't want to go but I thought to myself I have to if I want to have a chance to make it to Varsity next year. Show them how good I was or how good I could be there my mom through the how set a time for dinner see me and my
One the the school counselors was talking to me and asked me what I liked to do at home and I told him that I really enjoy to play baseball and little did I know that he was a baseball coach. He told me to go home and ask my parents if I could join the team. When I told them they told me they couldn't pay for it and that they wouldn't be able to bring me to practices or games due to there work schedule. I went back the next day and told the coach what my parents said , he told me not to worry about the money just to show up to practice next week and he would make sure I was on the team. Knowing my parents wouldn't be able to take me to practices I discussed that everyday I would ride my bike to practices and to games I would ask teammates for rides. Tell this day my Baseball coach tells me that every time he saw me come to practices riding my bike and always being the first one there, reminded him of his child hood and showed him the love I have for the game. Even now that I'm 17 year old , I still feel like that little kid whenever I play
Being a scrawny fourth grader, my pigtail-wearing self decided that I wanted to try out for club volleyball. Whenever I watched a varsity game, I was captivated by the way they played. From the moment I tried out, I knew this sport was going to be something I loved. When
Seventh grade I played in the gym only but every time a coach looked I played my best if I had the ball. When it came to tryouts I tried my best, but when the results were posted I didn’t make it. But a after lunch 3 on 3 tournament was about to happen and I was put on a team a very bad team to add that. I did not care because for the first time in a while now I get to play semi for real. I was happy once again
We had basketball tryouts on october 31st and i was doggin them folks on the court they couldn’t handle me and i was just a little 9th grader and they were all 11th and 12th graders they must have felt bad but i know they didn’t because i used to play against them all the time in practice so they already knew what it was. I was 6’3 and JJ was 6’4 by the time we were 9th graders and we made varsity when we picked our jerseys i picked my dads old number because i always wanted to be different from him but htis year i had to honor him by wearing his number the number is 1. We had our first practice and i kinda started to tear up a little bit because i know my dad would be proud of the man i became and the ball player i became he always said i will be better than he ever was just because of the passion i had for the game and the little smile i had every time a ball was in my hands. Practices kept going on and on and me and JJ earned the starting spots on the team we were getting very popular amongst the student body. The first game came up and as always me and JJ weren’t scared we were ecstatic to play against better competition and show the world what we can really
I first started playing volleyball at a very young age. I was in the seventh grade when my volleyball career started. My sister started playing in the seventh grade and I just wanted to follow her footsteps. My seventh grade year was ok because I had just started out and really didn’t know the game. There was A team and a B team, where A team was better than the B team. I tried my best to be on the A-team, but guess where I ended up, on the B team.
My freshman year of high school Coach Specht was the assistant soccer coach, at tryouts he told me that I would have a bright future as a player and could possible play varsity as as a freshman. Throughout the year I keep putting in the time and finally half way through the season I got my chance to play my first varsity game. This
I was walking up to bat. All I could hear was cheering through one ear and booing through the other. I took my stance and put the bat on my right shoulder and waited for the pitcher to throw the ball. The pitcher stared me down, probably trying to intimidate me some how. It worked. I could see the twitching of his right eye as he ogled me. He lifted his left leg and that was when I knew that the ball was going to soon be coming towards my face. As I braced myself, waiting for the ball to come, the boy opposite of me flung his right arm backwards, making both crowds go silent in anticipation. I could see the ball leave his hand and come towards me. I was trying to focus on the tiny, white ball, while zoning out the crowd cheering and yelling
Volleyball, one of the world's greatest sports. From the hot and muggy gym, to sweat dripping down each players face, volleyball is not for the faint of heart. This sport requires a single-minded desire: to win. It takes more than just teamwork to win. Volleyball has always been one of my favorite sports. I would always meet a new friend anywhere I would go. Believe it or not these situations are how you could meet your life long best friends.
