Faith from the heart seems to be lost when a form of idolatry is created to be a God. It is a misconception to worship another god that actually has no connection of miracles or righteousness to a person. As a child, I was a Catholic who believed Virgin Mary was another God, but that changed when I was exposed to evidence which led me to be closer to only God as a Christian.
People are raised into religion based on culture and family. I believed the Virgin Mary was a God able to answer prayers and have the same powers as God. In the past, I was a Catholic and viewed Virgin Mary to be the Queen of Heavens. She was very special in the religious life of my Mexican heritage. Her image is an important symbol to Mexico, so I grew up to worship her. I was told by my family she has the compassion, the sympathy, and the loving kindness of God. Therefore, I did many things to receive this feeling. I used to pray to both Mary and God to help me through my difficulties and I wore a rosary to honor her. Everything told as

This year, my belief was challenged by someone very close to me who is a Christian. As we became closer to learning more about each other, my impression and spiritual connection to the Virgin Mary troubled him. I thought it was unbelievable he told me he would convert me to Christianity. I accepted who I was and what I believed in so to be changed, I needed to be convinced with a strong testimony. He told me to read a bible verse, Exodus 20:3,"You shall have no other gods before me." I trust the bible so to read that for the first time touched me, in realizing I am disobeying God. It does not ever suggest to worship Mary, but God alone, and to go to him directly to him with our prayers. Mary is an idol because Catholics portrays faith to her image, but she does not have any senses and cannot perform anything, only God can do

Mary Read was a historically famous female pirate, because she lived in a really rough time period where women could not do a lot of things. Mary Read had to pretend to be a boy almost all her life, because her 1/2 brother Mark died a few days after Mary was born, and to keep the death a secret from her grandmother who supported Mary and her mother because she thought Mark was still alive, that is why she had to pretend to be a boy. Like a usual boy Mary had to go out and get a job to help support the family. Once she could she was recruited to join the army because all her life people thought she was a boy. She then met her future husband and showed him her true gender. They got married, and left the army. Her husband died a few months into
Would the advances of today be up to such standards without the writings of history? Diary’s and books show the way of life along with what did and did not work. Women such as Martha Ballard and Mary Jemison gave an insight into their life that would have not been accessible to the world we know.

Marijuana has been hailed as a solution for some ills and doctors once utilized it to invigorate ravenousness, ease interminable agony, and treat asthma and headaches. In any case, is cannabis truly a restorative supernatural occurrence? Provided that this is true, do its clinical advantages exceed its disadvantages? Should we authorize Maryjane? Is therapeutic cannabis truly justified regardless of the dangers? These are the issues one needs to consider before settling on the choice to authorize weed.
The Holy Virgin Mary was created by Chris Ofili in 1996. It is a mixed media painting, including paper collage, oil paint, glitter, polyester resin, map pins and elephant dung on linen with the size of 243.8 cm X 182.9 cm. The artwork portrays Mary, a black virgin, wearing a blue cape covers from her head down to her body. The cape wraps around her body, leaving an open space that reveals her right breast that was actually a dried lump of elephant dung. The woman was positioned standing in the center on a yellow-orange background with swirly lines that created a little detail in the background.
My experience with Christianity began in the Roman Catholic Church of St. Helena’s in South Minneapolis. I grew up a die-hard; attending every week with my mother and sister. I never understood the concept of God, Jesus and the Holy
Following the death of Jesus, it was up to the apostles to carry forth His word and teachings to the world, thus forming the early church. Disciples would hold sermons in homes and traditions and teachings were handed down mouth to mouth. As the word spread, the number of followers grew. The Church focuses primarily on the contributions of Jesus’ twelve main disciples, who were all men. Women, however, also made contributions to the early church as well. Mary Magdalene often gets overlooked and labeled as a sinner or even a prostitute. She was one of Jesus’ closest confidants and friends, some suggest she even became his wife. It is a little known fact that Mary Magdalene has her own gospel: The Gospel of Mary.
Mary Magdalene had the heart of a servant and was always eager to learn from Jesus. She wasn't always like that though… When she was first introduced to the bible she had seven demons inside of her, therefore suffering from the disease of periodic insanity. Jesus cast them out and that is when her loyalty to Jesus came into being, where she joined His "ministry". I'm sure in her day she was judged for being too eager to serve Jesus as well as always hanging out with the disciples. Some religious people even believe she was a prostitute, but there are no verses to back this up. There is no doubt Magdalene was greatly afflicted before she met Jesus

I was raised going to a catholic school until high school, and there in catholic school they taught me what it meant to believe, love, and accept. I learned to believe when things cannot even be seen. I studied many things and went to church two times a week, once on wednesday and once on sunday. I was surrounded with people who were able to find hope even when it seemed like there was no way out, people who were able to believe when many couldn’t, and I was able to find that motivation too.
What a sensation was made about the Sensation exhibition in the Brooklyn Museum of Art. The focus of Mayor Giuliani's outcry was the piece "The Holy Virgin Mary" by Chris Ofili. Funny, he didn't give attention to some of the other outrageous works including the pubescent female mannequins studded with erect penises, vaginas, and anuses, fused together in various postures of sexual coupling, or the portrait of a child molester and murder made from what appears like child hand prints or bisected animals in plexiglass tanks full of formaldehyde. Would it ever have made headlines with a different title, like "Afro-lady"? I don't think so. I guess targeting religion gets a little too personal. Giuliani said, "You don't have the right to
Growing up, my parents taught me the basic of Roman Catholicism because it was the right thing to do according to our ancestors. We weren 't religious, but rather lived by a good moral code and felt spiritual in our family. Church and
