Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve always wanted to be a veterinarian, but as time went on my interests began to grow and change. As my interests began to change I still knew I wanted to be involved with something medically, due to my successes and passion for math and science classes. Becoming a veterinarian was still a goal of mine, but I still want to go into a career that has more of a challenge. That is where starting my path to become a ER doctor comes into play. In the career of a ER doctor there is variety, and excitement in every scenario of medicine, which plays along with my value of adventure-- having a different thing to do daily. Therefore, the careers I have a great interest in pursuing are becoming an ER doctor or veterinarian.

Vet Ranch is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless animals with medical conditions not only get better, but to find loving forever homes. They do most of their work on their Youtube channel - Vet Ranch. The Youtube channel was started in 2014 by Dr. Matt Carriker after posting a video of the progress of a dog that was hit and left by a car. Dr. Matt is a vet in San Antonio, Texas who created the website to make it easier for viewers that wanted to donate to help save animals. When people look back at their lives, a lot of them would like to think that they made a difference. One of these ways is by caring for an individual who could not take care of themselves. It would bring this person a sense of happiness and great relief knowing that they have done something to change an outcome, or potentially save a life. "Being a vet tech is a rewarding and life changing expierence" (Holmes 46) . Not only is being a vet tech rewarding and life changing, but it can help the world become a better place by saving one animal at a time. For someone who loves animals and spending time with them, being a vet technicians is the most suitable career choice.

I attended a “Vetworking” session on September 16, 2015 from 5 – 7pm. I can honestly state that I went into this session close minded because I just wanted to finish this assignment ahead of time. Ten minutes into the event, I realized that the recruiters are just as nervous and timid as us. Some recruiters would approach me, while others kept looking at me hoping I would approach them. My first interaction was with Trinity Industry, a steel company that is based in Dallas. The recruiter, Jamey, told me about his company and explains how I would fit in with my degree plan.
