National Honor Society is a highly looked upon club that helps around the community as well as focusing on how important education is. I believe that NHS is a good fit for I feel that my values align closely with that of the clubs. Over the summer I volunteered at Stormont twice a week for four hours and I enjoyed it. There is nothing quite like the feeling of knowing that what you are doing is making a difference, no matter how small it is. Academics are also a significant part of my life because I know that one’s future and future career are dependent on the habits that are started in high school. Turning work in on time is getting me into the routine of getting something in by a deadline and showing up every day on time is just like showing
When I was asked to speak about service, the first thing I had to ponder was what exactly is service. In the world we live in today, there is so many different ways to serve those around you. Whether it is giving back to your school, local community, or even across borders the goal is always the same. Give a little piece of yourself for a greater good while expecting nothing in return.
Hello, I am Ricky Goode-Wright, and I have demonstrated lots of qualities of the National Junior Honor Society, and I feel as though I have a adequate amount of skills qualities for the task. Qualities that are needed to be shown for the NJHS are, scholarship, citizenship, willingness to serve others, leadership, and character.
Service is one of the essential pillars of the National Honor Society. While a member of the National Honor Society I have participated in many projects that have changed the way I see the world. While volunteering I have met many fascinating individuals that have different stories. Stories that have influenced my future goals to help and show kindness to everyone. While volunteering at Care one I have met multiple people who always have a smile on their face no matter how bad or good their day is going. Therefore the most significant moment that has impacted me is one story in particular. During the weekend I volunteer with an elderly woman. She is kind, friendly and has the biggest smile. While volunteering with her I have learned that volunteering
Out of the four characteristics of National Honor Society, I felt the most important is a character. It’s because it distinguishes how your behavior shows daily the way you carry yourself every day. Got to bat for your convictions about great and awful, be your best self, and oppose social weight to do the wrong thing for the right reason. Good characters show respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring, and citizenship in all their actions every day. “Reputation is the shadow. The character is the tree.” - Abraham Lincoln. The quote explains that character is something that does not change, something that stays with all you that which characterizes you. No other person can control it. Status labeled that other give you, so,
Scholarship, leadership, character and service are all characteristics found in a National Honor Society member. I believe that I possess all of these characteristics and should be given the honor of receiving this NHS scholarship.
Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character are the four pillars of National Honor Society(NHS) and are all qualities that I posses. Ever since I was young I have looked up to those who were members of National Honor Society because I always believed that they were the true definition of an exceptional person. Being in National Honor Society has been what I have strived for through my middle and high school years. I am honored to be a candidate for this wonderful program and throughout this essay I hope you are able to learn more about me and why I am a good fit for National Honor Society.
Upon induction, the four words that resonated through my mind was Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service. The four pillars of National Honor Society are an implementation of what the organization stands for and what each member should vicariously live by. As a well-rounded student even before I was inducted my junior year, I had the four virtues of National Honor Society but I did not use it to the highest extent that I could.
On behalf of Beaufort Middle School, myself, Dr. Tomon and The Faculty Council we congratulate you and your student on being selected for membership to the Beaufort Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. The NJHS is a program that celebrates the success of many of our hardest working students, based upon academic achievement as well as the demonstration of outstanding character, service, leadership, and citizenship. These criteria for selection form the foundation upon which the organization and its activities are built. Members of NJHS take pride in their accomplishments and work diligently toward the goal of attaining a superior education and contributing to their school and community. They do their best to provide positive role models for their peers.
Although my GPA reveals how I have excelled academically, it does not show who I am outside of the school walls. Throughout my high school journey, I have strived to be the best I can be academically, while actively participating in sports, particularly softball and basketball. In every aspect of my life, I have exemplified the four pillars of the National Honor Society. One of the values of the National Honor Society is scholarship, and I am proud to say I have maintained a GPA of 4.25.
The National Honors Society believes in leadership, character, scholarship, and service. I believe that I can bring that to Manchester High School. The National Honors Society gives the opportunity students to participate in the community. Without the NHS, the community wouldn’t be able to run the way it does. The NHS not only helps the community, but it also helps the students with their academics. It encourages students to keep their grades up and stay up to date with school events. My sister was a part of the National Honors Society and has encouraged me to join as many clubs as I can. My history of community service includes mission trips, food drives, and other activities for Swift Creek Presbyterian Church. The two mission trips I’ve
Despite the National Honor Society having four pillars in place, this has allowed me to open my mind and see which pillars I exemplify. With this being said, the pillar that most resonates with me is character. The character most closely identifies with me, because of selfless service, integrity, and excellence. The examples mentioned further demonstrate my core values and morals, allowing me to be an exemplary leader in the classroom and outside in the real world. Selfless service is something I take great pride in.
The National Honor Society recognizes students with great academic progress and outstanding role out of school. The qualities of leadership, character, and service are built upon responsibility, cooperation, and dedication. I believe I show these qualities through my extracurricular activities and leadership opportunities. As a member of NHS, I want to support and inspire others.
As a National Honors Society student one of the four qualities we are to exhibit is service. I exhibit the quality of service by taking out time to go over and beyond the norm to help others, and the community. I have been helping the community and others ever since I was a child. Being an active member at my church, I remember in my elementary years helping feed the homeless at the City Union Mission. My time spent at the City Union Mission impacted me till this day, and now I prepare meals after church for the men that come to worship service. As a Christian it is important to show humility, and to not take pride in myself. I am taught to not be selfish, hateful, or ungrateful, I use what I am taught by my family, the Bible, church, and
I’m a smart, hardworking, determined, courageous, and generous individual. Unfortunately, during my 9th-grade year at Hyde Leadership Charter School, I didn’t display these characteristics. I faced challenges such as missing class time because I was in the Dean’s Area and serving detention. But I am a student who wants to grow and become a great leader. Over the summer I figured out that there was no way I could be both a leader and a troublemaker, so I decided to make a change. I decided to hang out with other people, leaving my old group of friends behind. I’ve found a group of friends that could support me, help me grow, and helped me
Throughout my high school career I have demonstrated the four pillars that the National Honor Society is built upon: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
