An immigrant is a person who comes to love permanently in a foreign country. Immigrants boost earnings for American workers. They also help create new jobs and businesses. Millions of immigrants come to the US each year. This may cause overpopulation but it provides many varied and successful tasks such as jobs in the country. According to an article, it states, “ Perhaps even more important than the contribution to labor supply is in the infusion by high-skilled immigration of human capital that has boosted that nation’s capacity for innovation and technological change.” This means that the contribution and actions has boosted the amount of human capital which is the skills, knowledge, and experience possessed by an individual or population, viewed in terms of their value or cost to an organization or country. ANother way the immigrants could learn knowledge and skills is education. ACcording to another article, it states, “The Immigration Act of 1990 and other legislation passed in the last two decades have facilitated the immigration of college-educated individuals to the United States by creating temporary visa programs for high-skilled workers and attracting international students to higher education institutions, especially those in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.” More research has shown that the number of immigrants with higher education has grown at more than twice the rate of the same population among the U.S.
