Library Assignment Paper
Initially, one of my questions before going to the library was a broad questing dealing with the subject of refugees in the wake of the refugee crisis due to the Syrian war and the other ongoing predicaments in the middle east. This set the mentality for which I went about my research and journey to my first source. As I looked at the different primary sources I noticed that one of the documents was a report about the refugee crisis, which the United States faced during World War II due to influx of Jewish individuals seeking asylum from the year of Hitlerism. I though the specific primary source was very interesting because it dealing with the same broad issue, but with a different ethnic group and in a different time period.

My initial questions were dealing with the settlement of Syrian refugees, but as I looked into my primary source I noticed that it was dealing with a different ethnic group and different time era, so that shifted my focus from Syrian refugees to the differences between the two groups and differences between the type of treatment each received. Secondly when I looked at the article I was able to identify a difference in the perception of each group of refugees. In the article I was able to see that there was a focus on homeland security and a precaution for a possible terrorist threat. However, in the primary source there was not a focus on homeland security, but rather security and settlement of the Jewish refugee. Lastly, with the third source my focus becomes broader, since the last source focused on various perspectives of refugees in

In the year 1980 at least over three million refugees has been accepted in the United States. In "Jews' Tale Plays Out Again, as Syrian Refugees Find Resistance to U.S. Entry." and "Fresno Family Represents the Plight of Syrian Refugees." they both have many common details about refugees and coming to a new land. They give so much description about what is it like being an immigrant. Yet they also have some many various different details too. In the end, they have many shared similarities and differences in both articles.
There are two legal terms “search” and “seizure”. The legal term search means to examine another's premises to look for evidence of criminal activity. Under the 4th and 14th Amendments it is unconstitutional for law enforcement officers to conduct a search without a "search warrant" issued by a judge or without facts which give the officer "probable cause" to believe evidence of a specific crime is on the premises if there is not enough time to obtain a search warrant. The legal term seizure means the taking by law enforcement officers of potential evidence in a criminal case. The constitutional limitations on seizure are the same as for search. Thus, evidence
The article, “Refugees: Who, Where, and Why” by Catherine Gevert is about different refugees in the world, where they are from and why they became refugees in the first place. The first concept the author talked about was, around the world, many refugees have had to flee, to escape to safety after being mistreated in their own country. Refugees are protected by law and given basic civil rights when going to different countries. Another key point she talks about is where these people are and in the article shows us that refugee camps are located throughout the world, but are not the best living conditions. Many refugees go here for asylum. Furthermore, some reasons people can become refugees are because of, war and “ethnic cleansing”, also known
Two of these barriers are lack of interoperability (the ability to exchange information) among computer systems and privacy issues. Refugee Compare Contrast Essay Refugees are people who have had to flee their country because it has become unsafe. Refugees have many things in common like they have to cross borders to get to a safe country, and many end up staying in refugee camps. There are also many differences, for instance there is the way refugees get to where they want to go, why they might leave, and the where they end up. The Syrian and Jew refugee are two very similar events. In both cases, the Syrians and Jews were displaced. Back then, the Jews were pushed out by an anti-Semitism tyrant that wanted to "cleanse'' the world/country of them. Today, the Syrians are being driven out by terrorists who won't accept those who don’t fight with them. Also, in the two situations, the U.S. is hesitant to let in if not at all. These two groups don't/didn't have anywhere to go because no one wants them.
During the summer of 2013, I attended an international youth leadership camp where I met 50 Iraqi teenagers. They taught me about their culture and what their life is like in Iraq. The most important thing that I learned from them was that though we hailed from different countries, we had a lot in common. Now, whenever I hear news updates on the Middle East, it is not just another conflict in a foreign land but a conflict that directly affects my friends. In a way, I feel obligated to learn about what the Middle East is going through. Since I started my semester abroad, I have gained an increased interest in immigration and I would like to study the Middle Eastern refugee crisis more in-depth. Researching alongside a professor at another college would allow me to gain insight on the crisis that I wouldn’t achieve on my own. Though this will be the first time I will have researched with a professor, I look forward to offering my skills and discovering what there is to learn about the Middle Eastern refugee
This issue was chosen due to its scope. The Syrian refugee crisis is among a list of issues that will not only shape the world in 2016 but also dominate news outlets in upcoming years. Because of the despairing situation, many governments are struggling to find ways to handle the rush of individuals seeking asylum, for the fact that it seems the crisis is worsening. In addition, the media coverage on the topic sparked my interest and led me to research information because I had no idea what was occurring and the detriment of the issue.
