When Tranio and Livia were running down the street all of a sudden the skies began to darken and the earth shook. people were running inside to get all of their personal items and began singing rumble down tumble down. Tranio and Livia thought it was just a plain old day because there town shook all the time because of the volcano Mount Vesuvius. But when they saw all of their cities people running and gathering their personal items they new it was something bigger.
Livia said,” Tranio what is going on? Tranio did not know but when he saw Mount Vesuvius he had a pretty good idea what was going on. Livia we have to get to the dock or else will get hit by the the hot magma. Tranio what about are parents Livia said. We have no choice but
The hurricane in Florida had cause Miranda and her mom to move to St.Yvette with Miranda’s aunt and the grandfather she never knew. Going to school the following day Miranda gets paired up with five other people to do a project. The group she is put into is the first people she met when she got to school. Getting upset she realize that they are so different from her group of friends back when she was in Florida. In the end she they all become best friends.
Livia was telling Tranio that her dad was chasing the goat through the town. They were laughing about this and suddenly hot lava shot up they thought should try to get as far away as they could. They ran together toward the docks. They were scared as they ran for the docks. When they got there they hide in the crates. They had to get on a boat and get out of where they were hiding. There were not enough boats for all the people. Somehow Tranio and Livia got on the boat, . They floated for about a day. They had to eat bananas. They docked on an island and it was in the middle of the ocean. They tried to make it back home, but it did not work. And they all died soon because the lava was so hot that all

During the volcano eruption, Julia starts questioning her quality of life. At first, when the news advises citizens not to leave their buildings, Julia thinks she cannot leave the homestead “when the animals [need] to be fed, the cow milked, the chores done” (7). She considers these tasks as her responsibilities and never thinks about them in the past. Yet, as the fear of uncertainty surges in her, she starts to doubt her ability as she thinks that “[she] can’t do anything about a volcano” (12). This pessimistic thought surfaces because of the years of exhaustion and boredom she has harboured to convince herself of her satisfactory life.

Then something or someone scared the thing away.
Hannah slowly made her way up to first and just then she got a mystery box and it was a boom box. She made it go off and just then they all felt lighter and the steering wheel suddenly disappeared and soon after they all were on the ground. “What happened?” Mario asked when they were all sitting there. Hannah knew this was not normal and she saw a mountain and saw something sneak into what looked like a lair. She said “who wants to go on an adventure?”. It was so silent you could hear a pin drop when Mario stood up. He said he would come on the adventure. Just then Mario and Hannah headed of into the plains of moo moo meadow.

We watched as one by one they disappeared from view only to reaper at the doorway. Their cries of rage were inaudible, because of the loud crashes from the drum combined with the pounding created when our feet connect with the ground.
It all starts with the crack of a firework and the sizzle as the sparks drift slowly back to earth. In the distance you can hear the crying of little kids, terrified by the booming sounds, along with the "oohs" and "ahs" of the people in the little town enjoying the firework show. Following the thirty minute show, families file up the beach stairs to return to the comfort of their own beds. In the morning they will participate in the yearly parade.

Evening had arrived and everything had been packed away ready for its next use. It had also brought the grim warning of a storm. The sky was brimming with a dark shade of grey and black, making the mood eerily mysterious. A storm was brewing; it was about to blow, just like a volcano about to erupt. Then, “Boom!”. A lightning strike crackled across the sky, one after another. After three lightning strikes a downpour of rain fell from the sky.
In a time never given, a young girl suffers from Porphyria, and goes through a journey of self-discovery and acceptance in the short story, Lusus Naturae by Margaret Atwood. The reader never learns the narrator's name, and she is only known as Lusus Naturae, which translates into freak of nature. Diagnosed by a foreign doctor, the young girl seems to be forever cursed and becomes a burden to her family and shame to her village. Throughout the story, Atwood uses different forms of figurative language-such as symbolism and irony- and the first person narrative to portray the theme of how self-discovery can be an independent, and lifelong journey.
