As we grow in the field of psychology the quality and style of our writing and thinking will change to a more theoretical approach. At the masters level we are known as practitioner-scholars. Our primary focus will be to elaborate on theory and application of those theories. It is at his level we must become aware of ourselves and writing skills. APA will be conducive for report writing. Writing produced by practitioner-scholars will entail the following guidelines.
"*Acquire information: Identify, obtain, and review the current status of knowledge about a subject through literature reviews, readings, research analyses, etc (Capella University, 2003, p.3).
*Process information: Categorize, summarize, or operationalize information for comprehension (Capella University, 2003, p.3).
*Evaluate new strategies or approaches: Based on current knowledge, create possible new practices (Capella University, 2003, p.3).
*Apply and monitor new strategies or approaches to the discipline: Apply the new strategies or approaches to a practical situation and determine how to measure the effects of the approach." (Capella University, 2003, p.3).
Scholar-practitioners are those who are studying at the doctoral field or level of education. Here they become more involved in research and are the creators of the new research and theories. Unlike master learners doctoral learners are expected to publish scholar articles and presentations for others to learn from. Much like the writing of
I do not have a time limit on how long this will take. I do not want to over stock my schedule, leaving me to scrabble and rush to finish each task. It is important to not over do what you are capable of. The practitioner-scholar model helped me clarify and strengthen my goals in the field of psychology by pointing out the importance of what makes a good learner and a good professional. The model addressed ways the learner can be successful, and what is expected of the professional at the end of the learner’s
Bateman, Scott A. Snell, 2009). Step one gathers and summarizes information that is in question. It examines current conditions with an attempt at forecasting future conditions. Step two generates alternative goals that may be used as an alternate if the first desired plan does not work. Step three evaluates the potential of the alternative goals and prioritizes/eliminates ones that might or might not work.
All this information comes from the data that was gathered and analyzed through research and staff surveys. Managers need to plan the resources required to make the change and establish feedback mechanisms to evaluate the progress and success of the change (Sullivan & Decker, 2009, p. 70).

1) Q: You are starting to notice that Preslee's crying is rhythmic and moderately loud when she is hungry, wet, or cold. If she is startled, there is a sudden intake of breath and a loud wail, followed by more deep breaths and loud wails. In this paper I will discuss the concept Practitioner-Scholar Learning Model. I will compare this model with the Reflective-Practitioner Learning Model and explain what being a Practitioner-Scholar means to me as a learner at Capella and as a professional out in the working field. For me the first step in the completion of this assignment was to define the concepts of scholar, practitioner, reflective-practitioner and practitioner-scholar. Dictionary.com defines Scholar as a learned or erudite person, especially one who has profound knowledge of a particular subject (Scholar,
Franklin discusses the ways you can prepare yourself to being successful report writing. First, describe the relationship between the factors and legal issues in a clear way, where everyone can understand what it is you are talking about. Next, when conducting research you have to be able to read other psychologists reports and recognize what it being discussed and be able to summarize what you read in a more efficient way. In order to succeed in this profession you have to obtain great communication skills because that will reflect on your writing. For example, the article mentions psychological evaluation that are completed for clinical purposes and later you are required to have a summary and create a conclusion on for legal cases. Also, stating the relationship between psychological factors and the legal issues that should be described in the report. Discuss the findings that should reflect on standard psychological practice (Preparing Psychological Reports for
As previously shared at the location where I am completing clinical practice nurses coordinate timely and appropriate medical care—but nothing more. Nevertheless, case managers should follow nursing standards and practice according to them. The nurse case manager enjoys autonomy and independence. They receive training and preparation to face their daily challenges and succeed. Recently, the company has developed and is promoting the use of a phone application to facilitate the billing process. The billing process is the method used by this company to show the case manager’s productivity. The productivity is reflected on how many activities each case manager performs for each individual referral or client. The activities vary; it could be from
2.1 Describe which planning, monitoring and review techniques could be used to manage innovation and change (24 marks)
The basic definition of psychology is the study of human minds and there function, with respect to the affects the human mind has on behavior. The field of psychology is one of the most diverse fields that continue to expand and branch out into a plethora of distinguishing subfields; some subfields include retail marketing, legal work, social work and education (Sternberg, 2007). When deciding what career path to select one has to consider the level of education and scholarship they are willing to pursue. Pursuing and completing an undergraduate degree will earn an individual the title of a reflective scholar. A reflective scholar is a graduate that has completed a Bachelors or Bachelorette degree. Next, is the practitioner-scholar, which, is an individual that has graduated with a Masters degree. Following the practitioner-scholar is the scholar-practitioner, who is a graduate that has complete a program at a Doctoral level (McClintock, 2003). Each level of scholarship entails a pristine level of knowledge about the practices, strategies and techniques needed to establish quality and efficient
This is the biggest step change for the better. It is important to evaluate strategies before apply it, that help student to meet learning need. However, it is important for student to identify and apply a new strategy that enhance student success.
One difference between the scholar-practitioner and the practitioner-scholar seems to be in the “premium” in which doctoral studies place on research and theory (and publications) rather than research and practice. In general, understanding that basic difference did not deter me from noticing the vast similarities and support between the two models. Still, the differences seem to be that the scholar-practitioner is potentially more concerned with (or faced with the issue of) “status” than the practitioner-scholar. When pointing out the political aspects of scholar-practitioners, McClintock (2004), in “Scholar Practitioner Model” asserts that “the more determinate the knowledge base—as in the physical and life sciences—the greater the prestige and power of the field (p. 3). Conversely, it seems that the practitioner-scholar is looking to the published research projects of the scholar-practitioner in order to synthesize that information with an emphasis on application (Capella, 2003).
Introduction to Advanced Graduate Studies and Scholarship Details This course introduces students to the principal elements of research and scholarly writing. Learners explore approaches to synthesizing literature and the application of the major components of APA form and style, and learn to coordinate literature searches. Furthermore, they learn how to discern principal arguments, analyze research questions, and clearly identify the key scholarly attributes to journal articles and other sources of scholarly data. This course also introduces learners to the University’s overarching values and beliefs regarding research and the responsibility scholars have in continuing a tradition of contributing to an ever-growing body of knowledge. 3.0
