Despite the stereotype of black bears being a threat to one’s safety, Animal-zone explains how black bears are actually very gentle, joyful animals that have a predictable behavior. Black bears live all around the world. Black bears, like all animals, have unique characteristics, behave differently as male or female, exhibit special adaptations and live in several types of habitats.
Black bears have various characteristics to help them flourish in the wild. Black bears are omnivorous, meaning they eat both plants and animals. One way to distinguish the pawprint is that of a black bear is to check for five toes with claws, a pointed heel in the back, and a rounded front. The size of a black bear ranges from one hundred twenty-five to five hundred

A female black bear in her territory will not show with any other female where they live; however, male Black bears may have overlapping territories (Black Bear Biology & Behavior, 2015). One main difference between males and females, is the ability for female bears to give birth to cubs. Males help to produce these cubs, but do not give birth.
Typically, if the food is plentiful, females will give birth to the cubs every other year. The female bear will stay with her cubs for one and a half to two years. The mothers will teach cubs important life survival skills and then leave them to have another litter of cubs (American Black Bear, 2015). Males will leave hibernation early to search for a mating partner, while females do not. Another way males and females are different is there physical appearance. Male skulls are 10% larger than females (Ballard,

Black bears typically live in either coniferous or deciduous forests. For their food, black bears also like to live near rivers with lots of plants and animals. These habitats range all over North America, including Alaska and North Mexico (American Black Bears, 2015). Black Bears can adapt to their habitats, especially when they are in hot or cold climates. In the different climates, like the hot of Mexico, or the cold of Alaska, their fur coat or color may be significantly darker or lighter. Colors can range anywhere from white to black. Black Bears can be found in Maine's forests and in the humid swamplands in Florida and Louisiana (Leeson,
Spirit bears people call them spirit bears although there real name is Kermode bear the Kermode bears lives Outside of Columbia only however one in a million black bears is white the rest are black only maybe 100 exist spirit bears are really interesting . Only about 20 percent of the bears on Orr and Princess islands are white the rest are black they have white creamy fur with brown eyes dark nose pads and nearly white claws .
In 2004 the black bear mother with her white cubs also know of Kermode bear. But there is a one in a million chance of the Kermode bear to be born that is how rare there are. But yet there are still extremely rare near The British Columbia islands.
Prior to the late 1900s they roamed throughout Florida, over 53,000 square miles of land. From the Panhandle to the Keys, to the southern edges of our neighboring states. At that time an estimated twelve to twenty thousand black bears roamed throughout Florida.
Kermode Bears live in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest. This rainforest is located in Central and Northern British Columbia, one of the wettest places on the face of the earth. Stretching over 402 km along the western coastline of Canada, this rainforest is home to many remarkable animals including the white Kermode Bear.
The bear have evolved along time ago and now there is only eight species existing. They evolved from early canids during the late Oligocene and early Miocene, about 25 million years ago. The earliest ancestors where the Dormaalocyon Latouri. An intermediate ancestor was the short faced bear, very similar to the modern day bear. It lived through the pleistocene period. It grew to thirteen feet long and was a herbivore. The ancestors to the modern day bears lived in the same climate and ate the same things. The modern bear contrast from the ancestor because the ancestor was more skinny and was smaller, and it was more cat like. The eight species of bear that still exist. They are the Polar bear, Brown bear, American black bear, Asian
The nose of the Louisiana black bear is longer, narrower and flatter than its relative, the American Black Bear. The Louisiana black bear also has large molar teeth. The Louisiana black bear is one of sixteen subspecies of the American black bear. It is also the state mammal of Louisiana. It was chosen due to its significance in the state wildlife. It is truly a magnificent creature. Male Louisiana black bears weigh between two hundred fifty and four hundred pounds. They also grow up to six feet in length. Females are much smaller. The bears live mainly off of berries and acorns and are not predators but will defend themselves in the presence of
In 2000 there was a black bear mom with 2 white bear cubs in Beause Manitoba. Also in 1997 a subadult white bear named Halo caused such a media stir that that the lesulater for Minnesota gave protection to all white bears. Unlucky for the lesulater because Halo is the only one since.
Bear hunting is an extremely dangerous activity for one to partake in. There are many precautions one must take in order to successfully kill a bear. Although bears are typically calm creatures they can become extremely aggressive and dangerous if threatened. Therefore, one must be aware of their surroundings at all times and ready for any encounter. Normally bears are baited using some kind of container cut open with fruit and other strong smelling foods to draw the bears in. Though dangerous bear hunting does also provide a considerable amount of food for a family. Those you hunt typically do so in order to obtain the meat from the animal. A typical black bear weighs about 240 pounds on average. Though not all of that weight is eatable much of it
The care act 2014 sets out rules and responsibility for the care and support that happens between health and local authorities. Safeguarding adults means protecting someone’s rights to live in safety, free from abuse, neglect and harm. The care act requires that an enquiry must be establish if there is any risk of abuse and neglect and harm and if any action should need to be taken to stop any abuse or harm, and set up a safeguarding adult board in every local area. The polar bear, the largest land carnivore in North America, one of the largest animals in the world and a favorite at zoos worldwide, has, over the years, adapted to its harsh Arctic environment. The appropriately named ‘ursus maritimum’ or sea bear usually lives between 15 and 18 years in the wild and spends most of its life on ice. It is the most recent of the eight bear species. The first polar bear was a brown bear subspecies, with brown bear dimensions and brown bear teeth. The polar bear evolution was rapid due to the small population and extreme pressure to survive. Even today, the polar bear continues to evolve to better adapt to the harsh realities of Arctic life.
The three key best practices concerning listening when working with clients and their families are:
The polar bear lives up in the Arctic region where global warming and climate change are melting the ice caps that the bears thrive on. They use the ice as a platform from hunting and rest. The random pocket holes in the ice, where the seals pop up at, is where the polar bear catches its prey. With this reduction of ice, “the abundance of seals, and increases the amount of energy and time needed for hunting, leaving less energy for reproduction” (Endangered Species and Habitats).
However, over 98 percent of grizzly bears have been eliminated to the number around 800 to 1,000 in the Lower 48 states. 01/06/2016 The Brewing Battle Over Grizzly Delisting and Trophy Hunting in the Yellowstone Ecosystem TheHuffingtonPost.com, Inc. (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/wayne-pacelle/the-brewing-battle-over-g_b_8923316.html) As such, it was hard to argue that grizzlies are thriving. Since European colonization, they have lost half of their continental habitat, and even in BC around a third of populations have either die out or are currently endangered. (Anna Taylor) Overkill - trophy hunting slams BC's Grizzly bears 7th February 2014 Ecologist /Resurgence Trust (http://www.theecologist.org/News/news_analysis/2271852/overkill_trophy_hunting_slams_bcs_grizzly_bears.html) Another point is that they have startling low reproductive rate among the terrestrial mammals. It takes ten years for a female grizzly to replace herself in the population, and she will stop breeding in her mid-to late 20s. Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Grizzly (sponsor)/Biology & Behavior (title) (http://westernwildlife.org/grizzly-bear-outreach-project/biology-behavior/) A female can give birth to a maximum of 10 cubs over her lifetime, and half of the cubs will die within a year.(Ibid) What is more, grizzly bears play an important role in forest ecosystem as seed dispersers and nutrient providers. Generally they benefit the surroundings by transporting berry seed to enable them to geminate, or pile up their fresh manure as fertilizer. While they searching for tree roots or ground squirrels, they increased the amount of nitrogen through soil disturbance. (Ibid) As a predator, grizzlies can control prey population. They hunt vegetarian so that regional density of plants would not decline in large quantities. Grizzly bears can be said as a keystone species in their

The black bear is the smallest North American bear. The adults are usually less than six feet long and stand about two to three feet tall at shoulders. The weight of a black bear varies between 125-500 ponds. They have small eyes and rounded ears. Also their snout is very long. Each paw has five very strong claws, which is used for tearing, digging, and climbing. One single hit from the front paw is enough to kill an adult deer. A black
