As a citizen I understand the concern about what is the government hiding from us. I feel
ashamed because we suppose to trust pour government but how can we do that when they are lying to us
in our face. For them to gain our trust back they just have to come clean with us and tell us what is really
going on.
I do not understand why the government does this if at one point we going to know no matter what. It would just be easier for them to just confront us first the leaking out the news and us finding out
like that because we might take it the wrong way. What I mean is that the people does not like being lied
to because it just going to be suspicious on the rest of the things that they want to tell us.
I do not think that the
But, besides that I dont see why there is a reason to lie. People uses the term, a white lie,
Every since 9/11, the surveillance in the United States has become stricter and of more importance. The security is more top-notch than it has ever been because of the fear a future terrorist attack striking once again. The United States government is doing this for safety issues and the protection of Americans, but many are against the whole idea of having the government spy on you and others actually agree with it.
Since the inception of the United States of America 250 years ago, our government has enacted a practice of lies and deceit that keep its citizens in the dark. Matters such as false allegations that result in long standing wars, financial misuse and abuse, secret alliances that serve the government agenda's, and the altering of history affect not only the US citizens, it affects the global population as a whole. This deception has resulted in mistrust of the US Government as people question what our government is up to and what they are seeking to gain. In order to earn the public's trust, the United States Government needs to be transparent with its citizens, giving us the information whether it's positive or negative instead of allowing
Government surveillance is made with the intent to keep American society safe, usually made in response to major terrorist attacks to prevent future terrorist attacks. After the tragic events of 9/11 the Us government took measures to prevent future terrorist attacks from happening. One major act enacted was the Patriot act.
front of all the people because they don’t think it is wrong or affect them after.
Lying can change a person’s view but is not a right way to do every
The US government justifies the invasion to the privacy of their citizens saying it is a matter of security to the country. All of these privacy invasion started days after the 9/11 attack. The government and the NSA say this is a matter of safety for the US, by tracking their people, knowing what they are doing and whom they’re talking to. NSA had been on court ever since the US citizens saw something wrong and all they do is deny what their doing and the only answer that wasn’t a NO was “If our people (NSA employees) do this it isn’t on purpose”. How come can you tell that tracking someone isn’t on purpose?
As a matter a fact, in an article named “It’s About Blackmail, Not National Security” by Tom Gram he states,”With a few computer keystrokes, the agency has solved the problem that has bedeviled world powers since at least the time of Caesar Augustus: how to control unruly local leaders, who are the foundation for imperial rule, by ferreting out crucial, often scurrilous, information to make them more malleable”(Gram). Groups like the N.S.A. (National Security Agency) uses people’s information to manipulate a person. Governments will treat this as a power and abuse this to their benefit. Government should not be able to handle people’s personal info because it can
Since the beginning of humanity, there have always been the rulers, and the ruled. The rulers have always been the government, and the ruled has always been the people. One would believe that the government would be truthful and be interested in their people's well being, but clearly, this is not the case. In fact, lies are often more common than the truth. Facts are changed based on the governing party's current needs. The government wants to control their people, to have an unquestioning, thoughtless population that make them more powerful, as this is their main priority. As a generalisation, the government is more interested in their well-being than that of the people who drive it.
Picture yourself being a Jew on January 30, 1933 (start of the Holocaust) and someone coming into your home and you’re being stripped of all your rights with no say so or being an African and someone coming to your land and capturing and bringing you to the United States to be a slave. It's hard to envision isn't it? These horrific events happened and will happen again if we continue to ignore the verbal and subliminal warnings that are being thrown at us about the secret government. There is a very small population, 5% to be exact, that believes a secret government exist. Throughout this essay I do not intend to prove that a secret government exist. I only intend to inform you of its growing ploy of world domination, capitalism and control, and open your mind to the idea that there are tons of things that we aren't aware of. There are many corrupt people in our government and they plan to get rid of the independent government and start one world order. I will also talk about the facts that support this theory and dismiss the legendary lies we have been told throughout the years.
As we move into a new era were a more robust and urgent homeland security program is needed, it is important to talk about how officials are managing all of the risk. There are a multitude of threats; from terrorism, where tactics are all the more unconventional an unpredictable, to climate change, with extreme weather conditions causing severe droughts or other catastrophic storms. The risk accepted by federal officials must be weighed and prioritized in a manner that is conducive to the longevity of the nation but also eliminates political or other personal agenda. To ensure a standardized approach the Department of Homeland Security adopted a risk management. The following will look at defining what risk management is as well as an example of how it is being incorporated within the homeland security enterprise and how doing so is of benefit.
Currently the United States has the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare. It’s plan is to help individuals have affordable health care coverage. However, it has raised some red flags. “ The AMA is against it, AARP is against it, the American Hospital Association, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Catholic Health Association of the United States and the Children's Hospital Association are all against it” (“Republican”). To replace Obamacare, many politicians in the democratic and liberal parties are pushing for Universal Health Care.
In the novel Animal Farm, George Orwell depicts the events that occurred during the Russian Revolution through the analogy of animals living on a farm. Throughout the novel, Orwell incorporates the theme of the dangers of a naive working class, which is demonstrated through the pigs use of manipulation over the rest of the farm. “He would be only too happy to let you make your own decisions for yourselves. But sometimes you might make the wrong decisions, comrades, and then where would we be?” (Orwell 69).
Privacy is, and should continue to be, a fundamental dimension of living in a free, democratic society. Laws protect “government, credit, communications, education, bank, cable, video, motor vehicle, health, telecommunications, children’s and financial information; generally carve out exceptions for disclosure of personal information; and authorize the use of warrants, subpoenas, and court orders to obtain the information.” (Protecting Individual Privacy in the Struggle Against Terrorists: A Framework for Program Assessment, 2008) This is where a lot of people feel as though they have their privacy violated. Most Americans are law-abiding citizens who do not commit illegal acts against the country, they want to go about their lives, minding their own business and not having to worry about outside interference. The fine line between privacy and National Security may not be so fine in everyone’s mind. While it is the job of government agencies to ensure the overall safety of the country and those living in it, the citizens that obey the law and do not do anything illegal often wonder why they are subject to any kind of search, when they can clearly point out, through documentation, that they have never done anything wrong.
John Stuart Mill is a man that has been immortalized by the public as both a genius, and a man before his own time. He has made countless contributions to philosophy, ethics, economics, and politics; he was a man not afraid to speak his mind, often to a candour level that become expected of Mill’s works (Browne 274). This frankness became attached to Mill’s, as he was typically swift and cunning in the disablement of opposing views and logical backing of his own. However, because of this, and his often-debated stances, Mill often faced scrutiny over his beliefs, from authors such as Matthew Browne. His opponents were often quick to say how much it pains them to argue against Mill’s point of view. As Browne said, “ To any one who regards the genius and character of Mr. Mill with such serious homage as the writer of these lines, it is a task of peculiar difficulty, and also a considerable pain, to express, and especially to express in public, strong though qualified dissent from his opinions upon an important question” (Browne 273). However, before we indulge into both the greatness and questioning of Mill’s work it is important to understand how this man came to be.
