“From this slumber
She shall wake
When true love’s kiss
The spell shall break.” This is the spell the evil queen puts on Snow White in Snow white and the Seven Dwarfs ( ). It was written by David Hand, Ben Sharpsteen, Perce Pearce, Larry Morey, William Cottrell, and Wilfred Jackson. Snow White is a princess who is the fairest in the land. Many of the Disney movies are supposed to reflect, a time period far in the past, and they usually don’t. Beauty and the Beast takes place in the 1700s even though it was made in 1991. In the film Belle can read, she loves to read( ). She always goes to the library for books to read, and she finished them within a couple days. At that time most people couldn’t read, especially women. It is not realistic that she can read. This doesn’t reflect the time period because she most likely wouldn’t have been able to read. Even if she could read, it is not likely for her to be able to read that well. The average life span in the 1700s was 39 years. Not very many people at that time lived much longer than 39 years. In the movie Belle’s dad was older than 39. He was an old man that was an inventor. Everyone thought he was crazy, and that his mind had gone. In reality he wouldn’t have been still alive at that time. Belle could have been one of the very few people that could read. Her father may also just have been a lucky guy, and lived that long. Belle’s dad could have taught her to read, and she just happened to love it. Since Belle can read in Beauty and the Beast, Disney movies aren’t very realistic. Her dad was also very busy during the day with him being an inventor. Since he has so much to do in a day, he most likely wouldn’t have time to teach her to read. Belle’s father is also a lot older than 39, while most people shouldn’t have lived that long. Even though some parts of the movies are realistic, more of the movies are unrealistic. More events in the movies are unrealistic, rather than realistic. An example of an unrealistic feature is the princesses being
