Ebenezer Scrooge has change over time. He has a lot of ups and down throw his life. He has has done very selfish things but, he is not all bad but, he did do a lot of things to make him look bad. In the past Young Scrooge and Dick were classmates.
As soon as Jacob left, Scrooge went to bed but to only be awaken by the ghost of Christmas Past. The ghost was a strange childlike phantom with a brightly glowing head. The boy took Scrooge out through the window and travel back in time to revisits his childhood school days, his apprenticeship with a jolly merchant named Fezziwig, and his engagement to Belle, a woman who leaves Scrooge because his lust for money eclipses his ability to love another. Each past recollection that he hold caused scrooge to rethink where did he go wrong and caused him to tear up and sob and even regret not giving to someone who today ask for money for the poor. The ghost then returned Scrooge to his bedroom after his time travel through his past.

The Ransom of Red Chief is a short story published in 1910 by O’Henry. It follows the story of two men, Bill and Sam, who, desperate for money, kidnap the child of a wealthy man to hold for ransom. However the plan quickly begins to unravel when the child proves himself to be an annoying spoiled brat. Because of this the two captors promptly lower the amount they were planning to ask for ransom. The boy’s father however, knowing his child well, demands that the two captors pay him to take the child off of their hands. The kidnappers quickly accept this deal having grown tired of the bratty child. The message that O’Henry is attempting to put across with this story is unclear however it is a quite enjoyable
To begin, the author uses situational irony to make the reader laugh. Usually, the kidnappers are supposed to be cruel and mean to the kid, but in this story, the, kid, named Johnny, (also known as Red Chief) terrorizes the kidnappers. “Hey, little boy!” says Bill, “would you like to have a bag of candy and a nice ride?” The boy catches Bill neatly in the eye with a piece of brick. (O. Henry ##) The reader would not expect something like this, although the author hints the reader at the beginning. The kidnappers get their first look at the kid when he is in the street. A kid at this age would probably be

The Spirits of all three shall strive within me”(page 11, stave IV). This shows that Scrooge accepts he’s in need of change he also has figured out that he must respect Christmas as something other than a holiday for picking a man’s pocket. Scrooge is then shown as generous and selfless when he wakes up on Christmas morning, Scrooge looks out his window and sees a little boy. Scrooge then remembers that his colleague [Bob Cratchit] wanted the prize turkey for his Christmas feast, Scrooge asks the boy to fetch the butcher and says “Come back with the man, and I’ll give you a shilling. Come back with him in less than five minutes and I’ll give you half-a-crown.”(Page 2, Stave V). This again shows that Scrooge is being
Overall scrooge is a cold man that is dead on the inside. ,Nevertheless at the begining of the tale the narrator says
It is Christmas Eve, and Scrooge is at his business.a few people come by to business. One of these people is Fred scrooge's nephew, but fred invites to have dinner with his family. Then two businessmen come in who are collecting money for charity, but again Scrooge rejected to give the gentlemen anything. After the men had left, Bob asks Scrooge to take Christmas off. Scrooge allows Bob to have Christmas Day as a holiday, but insists that he should be back at work earlier the next day. Bob leaves to go home.
Scrooge kept wishing that he would just die. While he was at home he started to eat a soup. He then saw the pictures on the walls starting to move. After that he hears the doorbell ring all over the house. Scrooge then hears extremely loud footsteps.
Scrooge was chased on a rooftop where crows and other creatures eat and thrive. Scrooge fell as the roof was a limited race track. Down he went into a woman's basket,it was pitch black in the basket. As Scrooge was pulled out he saw his maid, Mrs.Dimber and her husband talking about the dead man. It was alluring to Scrooge although it was the same man as the men on the street were talking about in the first place. Scrooge was panicky and scarce that the dead man was him, but still didn’t know. The phantom was in sight ,they were in a bedroom much like the colossal room Scrooge had in his tremendous mansion. There was a man in a bed, Scrooge asked the spirit who the man was in the sheets. Before the spirit barely pulled the sheets off the man in the cot, Scrooge realized he saw his whole future. The spirit of Christmas past was at the final destination, the
Scrooge realizes that his present choices determines his future and decides to be generous with his wealth and treat people with love. He gives his housekeeper a guinea as a Christmas present and raises her salary. In addition, he tosses money to a young boy and asks him to purchase a turkey to send to the Cratchet's family. Scrooge also understands that in order to be a better person, he has to ask for forgiveness from others. He goes to Fred's house for dinner and asks for forgiveness for being rude and harsh on him. Fred accepts his apology and they have a great time together.
A Christmas Carol is preeminent a Christian moral story of reclamation about, as Fred , (Scrooges Nephew) puts it, the "kind, forgetting, altruistic, lovely time" of Christmas. Scrooge is a skinflint businessperson who speaks to the greediest driving forces of Victorian England's rich. He subscribes to the rules of the Poor Laws, which abuse the underclass, and has no glow in his soul for anything other than cash. Dickens perfectly showcases this, by representing Cratchit as the hardworking poor, and Scrooge as the conspicuous image of the avaricious Victorian rich. Cratchit is an unassuming, frail man who must choose the option to obey to his employer’s requests.
Ebenezer Scrooge is a miserable and greedy old man, who focuses mainly on his business and continues with his greedy ways on Christmas Eve. He is always grumpy and yells at his employees, and most of all at Bob Cratchit. Scrooge’s desire is to be by himself on Christmas Eve, and rejects his nephew Fred’s, invitation for dinner. One night, the ghost of Jacob Marley, a former colleague of Scrooge, who has passed away seven years ago, visits the old man. Marley reminds Scrooge of his cruel lifestyle and encourages him to change it before it is too late. He tells Scrooge that three spirits will visit him. When Scrooge falls asleep, The Ghost of Christmas Past visits him first. The Ghost shows him scenes from the past the reveal Scrooges’ live; from a lonesome young boy to a man who has allowed greed to overcome his life, a man who does not know love and compassion. Scrooge is touched by what he has seen and even allows emotions to overcome his stone-cold heart. Secondly, the Ghost of Christmas Present visits Scrooge. The Ghost takes Scrooge to several Christmas celebrations, including the party at Fred’s house. Also the Ghost takes Scrooge to the Crachit’s house, and warns him that unless the future is changed the crippled young son of Bob, Tiny Tim will die. The ghost warns Scrooge to be carful of his ignorance. Lastly the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come visits Scrooge. The old man becomes aware that several people discuses the death of someone. At last, he learns that this is
Scrooge is a decrepit man who owns a shop that he and his friend, Marley, used to have together. Both men had owned it, but then Marley kicked the bucket and Scrooge consequently became bitter, tight-fisted and loathsome. Whilst running his shop, his nephew comes into the shop, happy about it being Christmas. When Scrooge hears his nephew doing this, he gets up and walks over to him. He tells his nephew that Christmas is a useless holiday and people need to get away from celebrating to do work.
