It was alluring to Scrooge although it was the same man as the men on the street were talking about in the first place. Scrooge was panicky and scarce that the dead man was him, but still didn’t know. The phantom was in sight ,they were in a bedroom much like the colossal room Scrooge had in his tremendous mansion. The spirit of Christmas past was at the final destination, the

The main theme in this stave is denial. Scrooge is visited by the ghost of Christmas Future and as he is showing him things people are referring to a dead man. Scrooge is disturbed as he sees that the things a maid was selling things that were his but he denies that they are his things and says that the things were similar but weren’t his. Although he can identify himself with the dead wealthy man he has a hard time accepting the fact the he is not respected by those in town even by those who were inferior to him. He is also in denial as he finds himself unable to remove the cloth from the body under the sheet.
The spirit convey scrooge around the city exhibiting him scenes of festivity. The spirit withal shares a vision of minuscule Tim's crutch. Scrooge then ask would Tim die. The ghost first states that "If theses shadows remain unaltered by the future , the child would die. The ghost of Christmas present reveals that scrooge would only subsist on Earth for a single year's Christmas holiday as the present only takes place on the one day of the year.
As Scrooge and the Spirit pass through his childhood, Scrooge sees himself as a young boy again, as a result of these visions, he confesses to the Spirit that he should have given the kid that was caroling earlier in the evening a few extra coins. The Spirit then takes him to the time where Scrooge’s little sister goes to the boarding school and gets Scrooge after his father has redeemed himself of his angry ways. Scrooge’s sister, then ends up dying and he discovers his nephew who he never knew existed. Scrooge told the Spirit to remove him from this place and the Spirit said, “I told you these were shadows of things that have been. That they are what they are, do not blame me!”
Suddenly, the Ghost of Christmas Future appears and tries to teach him not to continue being a miser. Although Future doesn’t say a word, he changes Scrooge the most. The first thing Future shows him is three men talking about a certain man that died. “I thought he’d never die,” (712) stated one of the men. Next, Future shows Scrooge a group of poor thieves trading some of the valuable items they stole. Apparently, one of the thieves stole clothes right off of a dead man’s body. “They’d have wasted it, if it hadn’t been for me,” (715) said the thief. Then, Future took Scrooge to the Cratchit’s house where they learned Tiny Tim had died as well as some man everyone was talking about. Scrooge didn’t know who the dead man was. He’d simply assumed it was Marley; however, it turned out to be him. Future pointed right
In the story A Christmas Carol, there were three spirits that came to him at night. The First ghost, The Ghost of Christmas Past was portrayed as a man with long white hair. It’s face was without wrinkles and resembled Scrooge as a child and also a man. It wears white and holds holly in its hand. With Scrooge they visited where he grew up and old workplaces to show where his greed came from. The second ghost was the Ghost of Christmas Present. The Ghost of Christmas Present was tall and wears holly on his head. Dark brown hair curls cover his face with a green robe hanging on him. The ghost guides him through the streets of his town, showing him how happy the Christmas time is for people. Then the ghost took them to the Cratchit's house, the owner Bob Cratchit is an employee of Scrooge. The ghost mentions that there is going to be an empty crutch in the corner. This means that Tiny Tim’s life about to be gone. This is because of Scrooge’s greed to mankind. The last ghost was the quiet Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. Scrooge was scared of this ghost because it did not talk. The ghost wore a black garment that covers it head and only shows his skeleton hands. This spirit shows that Tiny Tim dies in the future and also foreshadows Scrooge's death.
No ghost and no sound. A bright light hits scrooge. He follows it to the next room and sees the ghost from Christmas present. He tells scrooge to touch his robe. They ended up in the city on Christmas morning. Then the spirit takes him to the home of Bob Crachit's house where he gets to see the family and how hard I is for them to live a poor life. There Christmas feast was merely anything for them to feast on with the little they had. The spirit informs scrooge that even though the family celebrates with contempt one of those chairs will be open next year. He takes him to many other houses in the community to see what Christmas is like to other families. He also shows him two starving children ignorance and want. The ghost takes scrooge back and yet again once more the clock strikes
Using the first spirit, Scrooge was forced to face the fact that people viewed him as greedy and selfish, and began to open him up to the fact that he needs to change. The second spirit, The Ghost of Christmas Present, arrived and took Scrooge to the home of a worker of his, Bob Cratchit. It showed the family content, despite barely getting by. When Scrooge saw Bob’s sick son, he began to show worry that he would not survive. When the spirit told him that the son would not make it to next Christmas, this made Scrooge want to help him. This kind of emotion was unlike him, showing that he was changing (CC40). The spirit then took him to several other Christmas gatherings, where he enjoyed himself and played many games, even though he was merely in a dream. This spirit was used to open up Scrooge and showed his inner want to be around people. These thoughts for Scrooge were different than his from the beginning of the novel, showing that the spirits were being used to teach valuable lessons to Scrooge. The final spirit arrived, but would not answer when asked if he was the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. Scrooge plead with the ghost to share his lesson with him, fearful of becoming like Marley (CC51). The silent spirit took Scrooge to a series of strange places, showing people discussing the death of a dead rich man. He then began to understand the
The Third spirit arrives and this time he is very dreaded. The spirit can’t communicate using language so Scrooge has a very difficult time understanding him. Scrooge figured out he was the ghost of Christmas future. They travel forward and see two people talking about someone’s funeral, but don’t mention who it was for. The same men talk about the man that is dead accordingly as if it was Scrooge. They then go to an atrocious part of town and the ghost shows Scrooge, how he is similar to these bad people. They go back to the general topic and soon figure out the funeral was for Scrooge! The two men are going to sell all his belongings when they find the accurate price. One of those men is a guy named Joe and he is the undertaker, the person
Ebenezer Scrooge is a miserable and greedy old man, who focuses mainly on his business and continues with his greedy ways on Christmas Eve. He is always grumpy and yells at his employees, and most of all at Bob Cratchit. Scrooge’s desire is to be by himself on Christmas Eve, and rejects his nephew Fred’s, invitation for dinner. One night, the ghost of Jacob Marley, a former colleague of Scrooge, who has passed away seven years ago, visits the old man. Marley reminds Scrooge of his cruel lifestyle and encourages him to change it before it is too late. He tells Scrooge that three spirits will visit him. When Scrooge falls asleep, The Ghost of Christmas Past visits him first. The Ghost shows him scenes from the past the reveal Scrooges’ live; from a lonesome young boy to a man who has allowed greed to overcome his life, a man who does not know love and compassion. Scrooge is touched by what he has seen and even allows emotions to overcome his stone-cold heart. Secondly, the Ghost of Christmas Present visits Scrooge. The Ghost takes Scrooge to several Christmas celebrations, including the party at Fred’s house. Also the Ghost takes Scrooge to the Crachit’s house, and warns him that unless the future is changed the crippled young son of Bob, Tiny Tim will die. The ghost warns Scrooge to be carful of his ignorance. Lastly the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come visits Scrooge. The old man becomes aware that several people discuses the death of someone. At last, he learns that this is
Scrooge lives in a gloomy suite of rooms, which is so old and dreary that Scrooge is the only one who lives there. This is where Scrooge encountered Marley, on Christmas Eve seven years to the date when he passed away. Marley firsts appears on the door where the knocker sits, “but looked at scrooge as Marley used to look: with ghostly spectacles turned up upon is ghostly forehead. Scrooge is not an easily frightened man, but from the sight of the ghostly face, he becomes slightly unnerved, and double looks himself in as an attempt to dismiss the ghostly face. “I won’t believe it,” once again is presented with a ghostly figure, “ I know him!
Three ghosts come and see Scrooge to change his thinking about Christmas. The past, present, and future ghosts come and visit him. (video 1984) The ghost of the past shows him things that happened in the past. The present ghost comes and shows Scrooge things that he did wrong in the present days.
In the book this scene doesn’t exist. In the book, Scrooge is just introduced to his third ghost. The book doesn’t read that Scrooge gets harassed by the ghost and many other frightening things. In the movie we hear people complaining about Scrooge, similar to what happened in the book, but right after their throwing of shade, in the movie, a phantom carriage appears being drawn by two ghost horses, while the Ghost of Christmas Future is in the carriage. That crazy scenario did NOT happen in the book whatsoever! Another event in the movie that did not happen in the book was that Scrooge magically shrunk and ended up in a pipe to hide from the ghostly horses. While still being miniature, he ran and ran throughout the town to escape the phantoms and ended up at a shop where a woman (his maid) was selling his bed curtains that she had stolen. This did happen in the book, however, Scrooge was not miniature. On page 67 of “A Christmas Carol,” it states, “Scrooge and the Phantom came into the presence of this man, just as a woman with a heavy bundle slunk into the shop.” Also, in the book there were three thieves selling Scrooge’s goods, but in the movie, there was only one. In the book, on page 67, it reads, “But she had scarcely entered, when another woman, similarly laden, came in too; and she was closely followed by a man in faded black…” With
