Second and more importantly, the office of the Presidency of the United States requires not just a man of intelligence (which Trump also lacks), but also a man of dignity, honor, morality, and righteousness, because he’ll be making decisions which demand such qualities. He’ll preside over our troops and elect court justices. He’ll have veto power, address and represent our nation, and have the ability to evoke executive privilege. To belittle these realities by stating that those who oppose Trump do so because they just scrupulously want to elect a born-again Christian is frankly dishonest “straw-man” rhetoric at its worst. James says that a wise man is someone who is gentle, truthful, pure, peaceable, reasonable, full of mercy, unwavering; …show more content…
Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? 2You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. 3You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: “He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”? 6But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.” 7Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.” (James …show more content…
Again, this is such the perfect picture of Trump. These that have withheld money from the harvesters will themselves become the harvested! A farmer fattens up his animals for slaughter. So too will self-focused evil people like Trump with their fattened hearts be prepared for Christ’s slaughter. Isaiah 63:1-6 gives us an absolutely startling imagery of Christ the Messiah, returning to earth at His second coming to fight against the armies of the Antichrist in the battle of Armageddon. His garments are stained with blood from the slaughter.
President Obama came into office in the aftermath of the disastrous foreign policy record of the Bush administration. The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 had served as a “switchman,” leading to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The Bush administration exercised unilateral use of force and reluctance to engage the international community. As a result global elites and publics viewed the US unfavorably. The US economy was negatively affected by the costs of the wars coupled with the financial crisis of 2007. It was this environment that defined the contours of the election campaign of 2008. Obama campaigned on the idea of change, which represented a regeneration of America through domestic public policy reform and a return to multilateralism in foreign policy. Both domestic and international publics and elites were galvanized by Obama’s message.
Trump and Clinton are both running for the presidency of the United States. One of the candidates is totally inexperienced and the other is experienced. Trump and Clinton stand for complete opposites of policy and political beliefs on taxes, immigrants and abortions.
This year’s presidential election is facing much controversy. The evangelicals are a vote candidates strive to earn along with many other special interest groups. Donald Trump, the nominee for the Republican party, met with prominent evangelical leaders of America on June 22, 2016 to discuss many of the issues that he will face if elected president. It was a closed conversation that included Jerry Falwell Jr., David Jeremiah, Ben Carson, Franklin Graham, and other evangelical leaders. In the conversation, Donald Trump gains the vote of evangelical leaders and their followers not through his extensive knowledge or political background, but by appealing to their emotions, using precise and compelling language, and convincing the audience that
Another over reach of power by the Obama administration, he is illegally ignoring congress and magically creates laws, right or wrong, where none existed before. By doing so, he gives zero chance for anyone or any state to debate or object to what he is trying to do, that is why we have a congress.
I am glad that Donald Trump has become the President of the United States, and have reasoning for it. First of all, he won the Electoral College. Many people seem to think that because Hillary Clinton got the popular vote. I feel that this is very weak evidence, because the 12th amendment states, “The Twelfth Amendment (Amendment XII) to the United States Constitution provides the procedure for electing the President and Vice President”. So saying that she won the popular vote doesn’t solve anything, because a whole amendment debunks that. Another reason I have is that even though Clinton has had more experience, that does not make her more fitting. For instance, she said she would create 200,000 jobs as Senator, but did not create a single
Trump acts as a religious figure where he dictates the morality of the collective. The collective has the power to impose moral expectations on the individual that explains their actions. Many people identify with the Republican party where their views are dominated by the collective in which they identify with and thus, support their collective leader. Durkheim defines religion as a system of beliefs and practices that unite a community through “collective effervescence” that forms “harmony and unison of movement[s]” (Durkheim 1915, 218). The force of collective on individuals could be uncontrollable and it dominates their bodies and perceptions that leads to “outlandish behavior” (Durkheim 1915, 218). Trump supporters lose themselves in a rally and experience a sense of euphoria by being in a collective and cheering on what they considered is sacred. Trump claims to provide his followers the sacred while protecting them from the “profane” such as the Mexicans or the Muslims. The followers believe in the faith of a “better America” and possess totems that represent their unity such as the red hat or the campaign
“What comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this is what defiles,” says Jesus (Matt. 5:18). Words matter; words from bigwigs matter big time. His pre-election hate speech, “a mere tool,” has already provoked a string of deplorable incidents that would get white supremacists to give each other a fist bump. While I am aghast, I am not surprised. Knowing who is sitting on the throne, many closet bigots will feel emboldened to intimidate or hurt anyone that might not look, act, or talk like an American. The question I have is this: “Did my fellow Christians see it coming? Do the law-abiding,
Being intentionally simple, repetitive, self-promoting, and self-prophesizing worked to get Donald Trump elected President of the United States. To win the respect they long for and deserve as well as open the eyes of the public to the current plight of public education in the United States, it would be wise for public school educators to draw on the Trump formula. If teachers and school administrators used the formula relentlessly to get their message across, there is no reason why it shouldn’t work for them as well.
Is it ethical for Donald Trump to publicly disrespect certain Americans during national televised speeches as well as on social media? Before this dilemma can be approached something important must be taken into consideration. A person’s virtues, which is the behavior showing high moral standards. A virtue can be defined as many things. “A virtuous person manifests and acts on the characteristics that mark one as a person of character and integrity” (Svara, 49). Looking at the issue at hand from a virtue based approach can cause various opinions on what is considered right/wrong or ethical/unethical. A virtuous person does not concern themselves with rules in making ethical decisions but instead try to make decisions that are steady with the pursuit of a particular kind of greatness that entails utilizing sound moral judgment guided by virtues like self-control, honesty and caring.
He is not only ahead on paper. He draws the biggest crowds, too. A rally for the candidate in Mobile, Alabama, on Friday night had to be moved to a larger stadium to accommodate a horde of thousands – although the estimated crowd of 20,000 fell short of the 40,000 the Trump campaign said had RSVP’d.
The Trump Administration has no obligation, therefore; victims would do well to continue pressure on county. Furthermore; faith based institutions can help. In addition, Governor Brown, a stout liberal can dig in the state treasury. He seems to take an provocative stance on sanction and immigration and lack skill of discrimination. Barack Obama failed and allowed scores of refugees not limited to radical Muslims into our country. The suffering on December 02, 2015 disconcerting, however; named as a soulless hack a bit harsh for someone unknown. A bit of background would hone your skill prior to an insult. So, here it is. The Japanese capitulated on August 15, 1945, and when liberated the Dutch were held hostage. In our case, six years
Throughout the history of the United States, in his first one hundred days in office, the President passes a series of executive orders that are directed towards officers and agencies of the Federal government. Similar to legislative statutes and regulations implemented by government agencies, executive orders are subject to judicial review and may be overturned if the orders lack support by statute or the Constitution (Pate, 2017). Newly elected President, Donald J. Trump, has caused protests across the nation and parts of the world due to his controversial orders. Without a doubt, the most controversial of Trump’s orders deals with immigration and how he will put an end to terrorism on U.S. soil.
Donald Trump was elected president of the United States of America on November 8th, 2016, and now has been running our country for over a year. As Trump’s first year in office slowly began, his reputation seems to be creating different outside views of our nation and arguments started producing everywhere. After competing with Hillary Clinton for the presidential term in office, Trump defeated her along with her democratic supporters causing one of the most shocking elections in U.S. history. Using public media web pages, we are reviewing both sides of the argument regarding Trump’s election and we are going to decipher why each arguer supports their side, and why each side is reasonable for the benefit of our country.
Just a few days ago, Meryl Streep gave an acceptance speech at the Golden Globes. During this speech, she was ranting on about how Donald Trump should not have won the 2016 presidential election, and how she felt that he was somewhat responsible for all of the hate and disrespect that our country currently has. Streep was instantaneously accused by Trump’s supporters of being wrong, of cluelessness, and of bad timing. She was simply speaking her mind to us. So does that mean that only politicians can say that they hate Donald Trump? Celebrities are allowed to talk about politics just as much as anyone else.
So, everyone and their brother is all hot and bothered over Donald Trump making some objectionable comments 11 years ago, in private to another man. Of course the media is all over this, that is their MO. Ignore the emails released regarding real corruption and focus on Trump with feigned outrage because he used some dirty words & was lusting after a woman.
