War doesn 't determine who 's right, it only determines who 's left, however, war can mean different things to different people in some examples, it may be heroic to fight for your country where for others it is devastating and dehumanising. The films such as The Pianist by Roman Polanski to Blackadder Goodbyeee demonstrate how the war dehumanises people while the American sniper and Dulcie et show that war can be heroic and great to fight for your country. Which signifies that the motives you have for fighting a war determines your attitude towards it.
American sniper is a film by Clint Eastwood it is an inspirational film, which shows the behind the scenes of war and shows how he acts during war and how he reacts to it afterwards we see Chris Kyle and during the war and he acts excited and brave how he can take a man 's life and not care for what he is doing. However, it is just an act he puts on to look tough in front of his fellow soldiers, and when he just says that he is doing his job and he isn’t fazed by the lives he has ended but in reality he is sinking into depression. When Chris Kyle’s wife makes him go to the counsellor to talk about his problems he only tells the counselor that he isn 't worried about the amount of lives he has taken, but more about the lives he could have saved by killing other Iraqis, this may be partially true but he is also

War has been something that has existed since the most primitive eras. People selfishly fight just to get what they want, like political power or economic advantages. Events like World War 1, World War 2, and the Cold War have affected and changed our society in different ways, such as the creation of nuclear weapons, the murder of innocent people, the destruction of cities, etc. Even though war stories usually portray heroism and glory, war is not something to be glorified because it causes enormous human suffering, it creates a violent cycle that never stops and it frequently fails to resolve conflicts. War causes suffering and destruction to all the people who experience it, impacting not only the soldiers who directly fight in the war but
A true war story can have no moral. Neither side can be the protagonist or antagonist. Both sides are anti-heroes, they are neither good or bad because there is no moral to war. Since war has no moral, it affects soldiers emotions by effecting their morals. Due to the immorality of war, there is no correct side or perspective.
Everyone has different views of war. Some people believe that war is what makes a man become a man. They believe that fighting for your country is the only way to growth up. On the other hand, there are people who completely disagree with war. Those people think that nothing good comes out of war – only pain and suffering.
American Sniper (2014) helped bring more light to veterans. As well as what types of services they need to help them readjust after serving in the military. American Sniper (2014) helped say that Veterans needed more rights and more help when it comes to this. This is important because many veterans suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after serving in the military and they may not know where to go for help. Cooper also went and visited with members of the United States armed services and thank them for their service (People 25 Sept
War movies were always a big part of the film industry from big action movies like Rambo to a history movie like Pearl Harbor. American Sniper is no different. Imagine living in a world where erasing memories of the past was just a night’s sleep and a click of a button; would you take advantage of this opportunity? In the film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, directed by Michel Gondry, Joel Barish and Clementine Kruczynski did. The two ended their relationship on a bad note which lead Clem to impulsively arrange an operation to zap that memory away. Joel did the same, but instead of letting go of Clem during his operation, he fell back in love with her; with this realization, his character developed throughout the film which reflects the color and mood of each scene and point of his life; Joel in the beginning, Clementine, Joel and Clementine together, and when Joel and Clementine broke up.
‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ (Wes Anderson, 2014) combines a perfect mix of nostalgia and history. The film explores the themes of war as it recreates history through mise-en-scene. Anderson also incorporates other themes such as racism and elitism during pre-war Europe. The film widely explores Europe from many viewpoints, one of which is of Mr Moustafa. His nostalgia is seen through flashbacks of when he was a lobby boy that went by the name of Zero. As an audience the depth of his nostalgia is seen through mise-en-scene. With the help of cinematography and props we see can see the time and place that Moustafa acknowledges. Anderson shows how history is reimagined through ones nostalgia. Mr Moustafa recalls events, which he was not present in yet he explains them as if he were there. This also shows how one reimagines history from another due to emotions and personal attachment. Despite the outcome being the same there are many viewpoints it can be seen from.

The holocaust is seen as a time of horror, filled with brutal, inhuman actions carried out by the Nazi party. Schindler’s List, directed by Steven Spielberg, is one of the most realistic movies to show the gruesome shock of the concentration camps and torture of Jews. Spielberg captured the true essences of what pain was during World War Two. In 2002, Roman Polanski came out with The Pianist, a movie that focuses on a Jewish man’s struggles outside the walls of a concentration camp. Michael Haneke’s Amour is the story of an elderly couple slowing dying. The film is melancholy, and the filmmaking is mediocre. In praise of the film, TimeOut magazine said: “Amour is devastatingly original and unflinching in the way it examines the effect of love on death”. The film captures the tone of death in an allegorical sense; it’s equally devoid of life as the degenerating characters it depicts.
In the movie “Shutter Island”, directed by Martin Scorcese, Teddy Daniels is an U.S. marshal and war veteran who seems to be left very distraught when his wife, Dolores, was killed in an apartment fire caused by Andrew Laeddis. The viewer can also see the trauma of when he liberated a concentration camp during WWII because of his reoccurring dreams of both his experience at the camp and his wife. When the viewer first sees Teddy it is 1954 and he and his new partner, Chuck, are on a ferry headed to Shutter Island, which is home to Ashecliffe Hospital for the insane, to investigate the disappearance of Rachel Solando. Rachel was brought to the hospital after drowning her three young children and living in the delusion that her children never died. Teddy’s purpose for taking this assignment is because he believes that Andrew Laeddis is a patient at Ashecliffe.
War takes lives. It kills fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, daughters and sons. War is scary, but it is as necessary as it is inevitable. It is a simple fact that people disagree. Not everyone thinks the same way, everyone has their own individual opinion on topics, whether they be trivial or vital. People have debates and debates can get out of
I finish up with a quote which speaks louder than words. “ War Doesn’t Determine who’s right.
