Mexican Americans do have some advantages over those who only speak one language or are not familiar with certain cultures. The images provided by the narrator demonstrate how she is a productive and hardworking member of society and she is just like any other person, only she can do most things two ways instead of one. However, even though she seems to be able to shift rapidly from one identity to another without much effort, the members of each respective society do not seem to assimilate or accept individuals like herself as fully Mexican or fully American. There can be many different things that cause people to undertake a mission. Such as, Walt Masters mission was to save Loren Hall's claim. A young girl, Farah Ahmedi, her mission was to get to Pakistan to escape her war-ridden country. Ernesto, a young Mexican boy, his mission was to learn English. However, all of these goals share the perseverance and determination to succeed.

Arranged marriage is found in various cultures and countries around the world, including Afghanistan and other parts of the Middle East; having an arranged marriage is thought of as an Afghani tradition and has been a part of life for many families. The practice of arranged marriage has advantages and disadvantages; it can create more family power and give more financial security. Sadly being forced into a marriage can disrupt the independence of the engaged, most women stop their education when they become engaged resulting in many women being illiterate. This makes it impossible for them to be successful without depending on their husbands. The Other Side of the Sky, a memoir by Farah Ahmedi, is a fantastic and tragic story of a girl’s battle through life as she lost loved ones, fled her country, and had to adapt to a life that was incredibly foreign to her. Farah’s culture is beautiful in its own ways, its dedication to beliefs, the wonderful traditions that are held, and the way they can be happy without all sorts of media and technology. American culture is extremely different than this, with our dependance on technology and our confidence and pride in our freedom. It’s both easy and difficult to find similarities and differences in my culture and Farah’s. The things we fear, the freedoms bestowed upon us, and just the way we go about our lives in general are all extremely differentiated between our countries, and we both take a certain amount of pride in them.

A mission is a goal or assignment that a person or group wants to achieve. These characters were determined to achieve their goals. Farah Ahmedi and her mother traveled from Afghanistan to Pakistan to escape the war. Stanley Pearce overcame a harsh winter to try and strike it rich. Cap overcame his fears and cremated his friend Sam Mcgee after his request. These people decided to undertake their missions because they were motivated by something that happened to them or past events that were relevant to them or their beliefs.

This is a quote that appealed to me the moment I heard it in Biggie's song "Sky's the Limit". This quote provides so much meaning and inspiration in so few words, and is optimal when played along with the songs catchy beat. This quote reminds me that you miss a lot by being timid or shy in life, something that I have found to be very true in my life. What drives someone to undertake a dangerous mission? This is a question that many often ponder, but the answer is often hard to find. People often have different motivations to undertake missions, whether it be a family obligation, determination, or sheer willpower. Regardless of the circumstances, certain people undertake similar missions. While Aengus for example was driven by his love for the glimmering girl, and how badly he wanted to find her, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi wanted to protect his family, and Ernesto just wanted to fit in. Although each of them had a separate goal, their determination was what helped them through the tasks.

Having a goal that challenges you to complete it as will benefit the rest of humanity ,is one worth sticking to. For example, Robert Allman had a vision of excellence ,in his mind of course, where he overcame the mistrust of thoughtfulness in other people. He created a game and became the first blind athlete to be awarded with a varsity letter from the university of pennsylvania. That is just one of the many achievements he earned and in doing so, he encouraged numerous blind athletes.

The rush, adrenaline, and nerve racking experience is what happens when undergoing a mission. Amadi risked her life to get to pakistan, Billy Coleman did anything for his dogs and would hunt in the night, and Ernesto a spanish speaking boy from mexico comes to america and learns a new language with complete strangers. All these character take on a mission some point the story and shows us how willing and focused they are toward succeeding in their mission. A person is driven to take a mission because of determination, dedication and bravery. People do these mission s so that they succeed and in hopes for a better life.

The thesis is that people take missions because they want to prove that they can and are powerful enough and they will feel decent because they accomplished something people doubted them.
