Who would you rather face in the middle of the night? A murder that kills people for fun, or a crazy man that buries people alive and screams in their face because he is crazy. In the story The Most Dangerous Game By Richard Connell, is based on an island where this man lives and he hunts animals. But he gets bored hunting animals, so he starts hunting humans. Ranisford just so happen to be one of those people. The second story The Cask Of Amontillado is about a man whose wants to get revenge on someone so he takes him into the catacombs, and he buries him alive by filling the room with mortar and brick. The one that I think that is the most Disturbing is The Worlds Most Dangerous Game
In ways they are similar, and in ways different. In a way

Fortunato was not aware that Montresor was about to kill him. Now general zaroff on the other hand straight up told Rainsford that he was going to be hunted. He also told him all of the rules of the game. The motivation of the two men are not alike at all. Montresor wanted revenge that’s why he was killing. General zaroff was doing it for the sport of hunting. It was planned, when montresor killed fourinado it was planned. When general zaroff killed Rainsford it was not as planned meaning he was killing people before Rainsford came along.
Like I said in the first paragraph I thing that zaroff is the most evilest. First off he has killed many more people than zaroff has. Another bad part about it was he liked doing it. Zaroff was aware that he was killing these people for fun, montressor had revenge on his mind and wasn’t clear headed. The other reason he is worse is because he would buy slaves from other countries. Just so he could put them on his island and hunt them.
The cask of amotiado, the story about a man who want revenge on his friend because of “the thousands injuies fortunato I had borne a best a I could; but when he ventured upon insult, I vowed revenge” A quote by Montresor. The story Worlds Most Dangerous game, about a man Who got tierd of hunting animals so he dicides to hunt humans instead. I think that General zaroff it the most evilst. So in conclution zaroff Is the the most evil. Who do you think is the most
The harsh truth of island life reveals that Zaroff’s idea of civilization includes personal pleasure derived from murder .Zaroff explains his “game.” Zaroff has become bored with hunting because the animals do not provide a challenge for him, so hunts the only animal that can think and reason—man (Connell 74).He believes that he deserves the challenge, so it is morally right to hunt men. This is not civilized behavior. It is murder. He tries explains why it is right. “‘If I wish to hunt, why should I not? I hunt the scum of the earth—[…]’”(Connell 75).Zaroff believes that his social status and wealth give him the right to kill those in lower classes. This
General Zaroff implies when talking with Rainsford that he stocks the island with the prey he hunts by setting up a ship trap (Connell 25-26). Later on General Zaroff reveals that he hunts humans in a game he made where he gives them necessities and a three hours head start with a three day limit (27-28). Ships get tricked by a light he made that indicates a channel when there is actually a large wall of sharp rocks that crush anything in its path. Then General Zaroff captures the survivors, puts them in his training school and gives them the choice to be hunted to maybe survive or be killed by his servant, Ivan. These passages show that General Zaroff is a brutal killer, who murders dozens of humans by trapping their ships. Regarding this, General Zaroff is indeed the most interesting villain in The Most Interesting
If you can think of a more horrible person I would like to know who they are. Ned Kelly was hungry, hungry for blood, human blood. He thought of the ruthless plan so far. A normal human being wouldn’t even think of this evil plan even if they tried their hardest it they wouldn’t even come close to this plan. The Kelly gang were going to attempt to derail a police train this may not seem like much but part of the plan was to take hostages. I am not talking about 1 or 2 hostages I am talking about 40 odd hostages. (pg105) Would you have like to have been 1 of those hostages? Just think being locked in a room with 4 disgusting bushrangers. But Ned didn’t stop at murdering he had a different trade as
General Zaroff was Evil, Selfish, Challenger. General Zaroff is evil because he is killing humans for him. And also in text it said that he is devil. In the text it say, “Even so zealous a hunter as General Zaroff could not trace him there, he told himself; only the devil himself could follow that complicated trail throngle after dark. But perhaps the general was a devil (Page 12)." He is selfish because he is kills humans for him. Hunting was beginning to bore me! And hunting, remember, had been my life. I have heard that in America businessmen often go to pieces when they give up the business that has been their life (Page:6)." He is challenger because he had killed many animals and now he is killing humans. The general smiled. "No," he said.
Furthermore in the story “The Most Dangerous Game” General Zaroff had a strive to kill for fun. Zaroff would always kill animals, and after animals became easy, he moved onto humans. Zaroff would enjoy killing and it became
General Zaroff from “The Most Dangerous Game” and Montresor from “The Cask of Amontillado” are similar in several ways. They are both evil in many ways. A piece of evidence for General Zaroff Is when he put lights out in the Caribbean sea to make a false channel which caused Rainsford boat to crash on Ship-Trap island in the Mediterranean sea. One for Montresor is when he built a wall around Fortunato. Another piece of evidence that proves General Zaroff is evil is when he threatens Rainsford with his dogs if he does not play the game “I gave him his option of course. He need not to play that game if he doesn't wish to. If he does not wish to hunt, I turn him over to Ivan” (Connell 67).This means that Rainsford does not have to play a game
Every soul has committed an act of evil, whether he or she likes it or not. For the protagonists of Richard Connell's "The Most Dangerous Game" and Edgar Allan Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado" their sins served as entertainment. Both characters exemplify the deviant traits of sadists. Montresor and General Zarof are pure evil; for they both deliberately and lucidly inflict pain upon others as leisure.
“The Most Dangerous Game” and “The Cask of Amontillado” are two stories that take your mind through the darkest moments a human can experience. Darkness, fear, and survival, these are just a few things a man can experience on a island with an atrocious psychopath, Zaroff. Rainsford, a famous hunter washes up on the enigmatic island with Zaroff for three nights. Now imagine you’re deep in the streets of Italy, a carnival makes the perfect distraction to lead away victims of murder. Montresor, the ‘friend’ of Fortunato, leads the drunken man below the surface into the bony Catacombs.
The three gunshots indicated one less innocent human on Ship-Trap Island. General Zaroff is the antagonist of the story “The Most Dangerous Game.” In the past, he would enjoy hunting various animals. Now, he is entertained by the hunt of humans. His character gives off a strong and evil feeling to the story.
After reading the two stories between “cask of Amontillado” and “The most Dangerous Game”. What I liked about it, they were great stories, but I like the most dangerous game instead of the cask of Amontillado. What I liked about the Most Dangerous Game was the traps and the climactic parts in the story. What got me the most was the ending was the best though after all this time he just wanted to die because, he was getting bored of just hunting animals. So he wanted to try and hunt a person and try that because he’s always wanted to hunt a person after this I was saying “Why would he want to hunt a person after all the animals he killed I would stick to animals unless I’m in the marines” But yeah I did like “The Most Dangerous Game” it just
Picture this, your running through a dense forest on an island. Your heart pounds as you run, hoping the man chasing you won't catch up. You hear a gunshot nearby, the man hunting you calling your name. Now picture this, you’re in a dark underground catacomb. You’re bound to a wall in chains In the story “A Cask Of Amontillado” by Edgar Allen Poe you meet Montresor a man who kills his friend out of revenge. Then in “The Deadliest Game” by Richard Connell you’re introduced to General Zaroff. A skilled big game hunter that after growing bored of his usual hunt decides to hunt a deadlier prey, humans. However, while both of these fates seem like a living nightmare and both of these men are insane General Zaroff is much worse than Montresor.
Some people might ask what is a villain? A villain is a bad person who does evil things on purpose tries to cause harm or trouble to someone. The villain or protagonist is always very important when it comes to telling a good story. They play a big role in helping the story move along and with the conflicts characters will face. In The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell the character Zaroff is presented as an evil person with malicious intent. Zaroff is a villain because he is cruel and harms innocent people for fun. The nature of Zaroff's villainy allows the reader to understand the theme of the idea that the hunter is now being hunted in the work.
When I came into class these last two weeks, I definitely thought that ready a short story from a textbook made in was going to be a drag. I was pleasantly surprised when I actually started to gain interest in The Most Dangerous Game, written by Richard Connell. I really admire the way the author had composed the plot and how the characters were so well developed. I was slightly less juiced up when I found out we were watching a movie made in 1932. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed both works of art tremendously.
The perplexing character seems like just an extreme hunter but figure out an alarming fact that he clearly is proud of, and doesn’t regret pursuing. General Zaroff redefines hunting when he restocks his island with a new type of life. The character General Zaroff, the disturbed antagonist from The Most Dangerous Game, portrays some prominent traits including an arrogance/cockiness, skillful, and insanity.
