“Odysseus , son of laertes, home of Ithaca” is the main character in the Odyssey. The Odyssey is written by Homer a greek poet. Odysseus is the king of Ithaca. He is a brave warrior and is called to fight in the Trojan war with his men. Odysseus shows intelligence, leadership, and arrogance on his journey home to Iltica.

Odysseus is a wonderful leader to his men. He leads his men in the trojan war with a victorious win. Odysseus shows leadership by defeating the cyclops Polyphemus. Odysseus also comes home and shows that he is in charge by killing all the men in his house. Threw out the Odyssey, Odysseus faces a lot of challenges that only a good leader could complete. He finds a way out Scylla, circe, calypso and the sirens but of course with the help of the Gods. …show more content…

He talks back to Poseidon after defeating Polyphemus.. Odysseus yells that he doesn't need any Gods . Odysseus loses all his men after the storm. Poseidon punishes Odysseus by not letting him see Ithica in 20 years. For several years Odysseus is trapped on islands used by Goddesses. He is also punished by seeing his mother in hatez and after that Odysseus is ready to change.

Odysseus is one intelligent human throughout the Odyssey. In the Trojan war he comes up with the trojan horse idea which was Odysseus and his men hiding in the horse, letting the Trojans think it was a gift. But at night they killed everyone winning the war. Odysseus has this plan to kill polyphemus by getting him drunk, then while he is sleeping , they gashed his eye out. Polyphemus is still alive and calls to his family, but odysseus already told him his name was nobody. So this makes Polyphemus look dumb , then he opens the door to let his sheep out and Odysseus and his men are hiding under
