The Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR) is a grocery retailer and is recognized as one of the largest in the world. As it states in the History of Kroger published by the Kroger Company Mr. Barney Kroger, a son of a merchant invested his life savings of 372.00 in 1883 to open a grocery store.
Mr. Kroger ran his business with a simple motto, “Be particular. Never sell anything you would not want yourself.” (The Kroger Company). Another amazing fact, “Kroger became the first company to operate its own bakeries in 1901.” (The Kroger Company) In this research paper I will cover what I have learned about The Kroger Company, the company history, company products, company services, company marketing, and the company financial profile as of today. Furthermore, after my research on the Kroger Company I will conclude that Barney Kroger is a successful entrepreneur. The Kroger Company is a successful business all the way around. Although each and every one of us could take our life savings and invest, does that mean we would have the same result as Mr. Barney Kroger? It also has a strong reputation and distribution. Also, their revenue performance and financial stability is high. Kohl’s also offers most of the essential products like clothing, furniture and etc.

Today, Kroger has grown to 2500 stores with $70 billion revenues, 40 food processing plants ranging from bread, milk, soda pop, ice cream and peanut butter. At present time, I believe the two most pertinent factors for the Kroger company are sociocultural forces and environmental factors. According to Orlando,2017, Kroger has formed a partnership with Lucky’s supermarket located throughout central Florida and will open eight more stores in the state adding to their numerous banners. Kroger will have to conduct research on the forces that include lifestyles. cultural differences and attitude that could have an impact on their stores.
