You may be wondering now if you are still allowed to eat whatever you would like on this diet. Well, even though the diet is pretty lenient, the diet does give you items not to eat at all to receive better results. The Keto diet works best if you do not consume: grains, ( corn, rice, cereal wheat, etc. ), sugars (maple syrup, agave, honey), fruits (apples, bananas, oranges) and tubers (potatoes, yams, etc). It is best not to consume these items because they are all high in carbohydrates and when you start to eat a diet high in carbohydrates again it will kick your body out of the Ketosis state and there will be no weight loss or any of the other benefits. Therefore, you are allowed to eat, in proportions of course: meats, above ground vegetables, nuts and seeds, high fat dairy, avocado and berries, leafy greens, sweeteners and other fats. First off, you should take all your measurements before you start the Keto diet. Do this so that you can track all your progress from week to week and eventually month to month. Not only should you track your weight, but you should take pictures along with track the measurements of at least your: waist, hips, neck, arms, and thighs. You can of course take measurements of other parts of your body as well, but those are the areas that you will drastically see changes in overtime. It is suggested that you do some further research before you jump right in, you should plan about a week full of meals and make a shopping list. A great tip would be to go through your pantry and fridge and throw away anything high in carbohydrates and/ or sugars so that when you go in there you aren’t tempted to make anything including those ingredients.
