In the article “Deportation Before Incarceration” by Peter H. Schuck, he proposes an innovative way to help alleviate overcrowding in the United States prison system – the deportation of some immigrants before they enter prison. What makes Schuck’s article effective is his use of the rhetorical device known as organization. By organizing his paper starting with background information of the topic at hand; including several other proposals and examining the faults of each; setting up his point with the laws already established; offering a solution, his proposal, to overcrowding in the prison system; and finally, with a strong conclusion that recaps the entirety of the article, Schuck makes an effective article.

This illness prevents children from experiencing a true childhood full of discovery and enjoyment. You try multiple treatments, doctors, and medications, but nothing seems to work. Finally, you decide to resort to the medical marijuana and notice the results are astounding. Your child’s behavior changes from quiet and unmotivated to talkative and energetic! Dravet Syndrome is just one of many conditions that medicinal cannabis has proven to help. Many medical conditions qualify for medical marijuana use making it a more reliable and affordable alternative from over-the-counter drugs. However, since the early 1900’s marijuana has been pushed to the side when it comes to being an option for helping people. Anti-marijuana activists believe that marijuana has only negative effects on the heart, brain, and lungs. Although, marijuana is labeled a Schedule 1 drug alongside heroin and LSD, legalizing medical use in Florida can benefit the state’s economy in tax revenue as well as the health of its inhabitants who have deadly or torturous medical conditions.
When the majority of the population is exposed to the words, “the Amazon”, through some form of written or spoken communications, most likely their initial, instinctive response is to visualize the Amazon rainforest as it is portrayed by a staggering amount of both past and present media outlets. This portrayal tends to be one consisting of a vibrantly colored rainforest, brimming with an abundance of diverse and exotic flora and fauna, and, a thriving and well-balanced collection of ecosystems which is, frankly, not even remotely accurate to the actual Amazon rainforest. Behind its deceptive facade endorsed by television, books, and occasionally even news, the Amazon rainforest occupies many dark truths relevant to degradation of the state of the earth’s various ecosystems and environments. Over the last several decades the Amazon has undergone numerous dramatic and, in fact, damaging changes all of which have been attributed to the area’s extensive deforestation.
