In life, no matter the quest, if you aim to succeed you must first fail. Failure, one of life’s profound professors, allows us to utilize our mistakes in a way that will create positive results in the future, that’s if you let it.
Writing has never been one of my strong suits. I’m not terrible at it, I have plenty of things to say, but where to place a comma or how to appropriately use a semi-colon has never been something that instantly clicked. Yet, I did not lack confidence entirely. I knew I could. at least, do exactly what public schooling in Texas taught us to do, pass. Then came junior year of high school, probably the most academically intense year I’ve had thus far, the first day of school; additionally the first period of school,
The education conflict in Texas is a major factor of chaos. There is kids without college tuitions. The 2011 Texas Legislature chopped more than a billion dollars from higher education, dashing the dream of college for many Texas students. While scholarships disappeared, many campuses were forced to raise tuition costs, a deadly combination for families without the resources to make up the difference.
High quality education is a must in U.S. since it means that today's youth will be prepared with the knowledge needed to tackle our nations issues. When looking from state to state, you will notice how various states differ in how well they are able to educate students. Maryland was ranked number one in the nation by having a high grade point average amongst students and an equally high graduation rate. Texas on the other hand had the worst grade point average and graduation rate. The reason for this is the amount of funding that goes into public schools. Maryland puts a lot of funding into their public schools which helps raise grade point averages. Meanwhile Texas puts little funding into public schools and
Failure is something that we cannot go through life without experiencing. The best thing about failure is that failure can be used as a great learning experience to improve upon things in our lives and career. Using failure as a learning tool is dependent upon the person and how they view it as well as how they use it. Failure is a matter of perspective and the lessons in failure are important aspects towards growth and development. If we did not experience failure there wouldn’t be opportunities for learning. Failure can teach us about ourselves as well as provide an understanding for our
Public Education in Texas originated in the 19th century. Initially, when Texans created the Texas Declaration of Independence, they highlighted the failures of the previous Mexican government in creating a public education system. No official plan was set forth until 1845, when the state set a permanent school fund of 2 million dollars.
Failing is the first step toward success. John Powell once quoted, “The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.” You must always keep trying when your at your lowest. Learning from the times were we mess up will help someone reach their goals and find new ideas. Accomplishing your dream is something everyone wants to do in life.
The key to success is not about whether you fail or not, but how you deal with failure. In order to succeed, one must overcome failure. Sometimes, the best way to learn is to fail. On the road to success, many lessons are learned, almost all from failures. The only way to achieve success is to improve as you keep moving forward.
Article VII of the Texas Constitution section 1 states “A general diffusion of knowledge being essential to the preservation of the liberties and rights of the people, it shall be the duty of the Legislature of the State to establish and make suitable provision for the support and maintenance of an efficient system of public free schools.”
The current state of the Texas education policy is very complex and its roots can be traced all the way back to times were there was no equality in the public school system, we can even say it can be traced as far back to the state’s split from Mexico. This was a very problematic situation that began to be reformed heavily starting in 1954. The legislations that passed to resolve this problem have morphed the Texas Public education policy into what it is today.
Failing in various areas in life can give people a negative outlook on their own achievements. When failure strikes, people can become discouraged by their lack of achievements and give up. According to In Praise of Failure: The Value of Overcoming Mistakes in Sports and in Life by Mark Anshel, the author was a failure in numerous activities he wrote about in his book. “ I am not a failure (as a person); I failed at something” (Ashnel). This is a positive perspective on
When I look at the word failure I didn’t see success. But that slowly changed as I read the book What the Best College Students Do by Ken Bain Chapter four. Bain, for me and I’m sure many other, have changed our view point on failure being a bad thing. He instead expressed failure as an “opportunity to learn something.” (121) As infants we grow and develop, we learn to walk by falling down a couple hundred times, and we learn to speak by babbling. By trying to walk, and trying to talk, we may fail at first. As an infant, you cannot give up when you are face to face with failure. You must get up and try again to learn. In the book, What the Best College Students Do by Ken Bain he uses people’s experiences and research to explain why failure is an opportunity to learn something new, rather than seeing failure as something bad. He asserts “people who become highly creative and productive learn to acknowledge failures, even to embrace them, and to explore and learn from them.” (100) Failure is important. If we did not get up and try again as infants, we would not be where we are today.
Texas has often been known for our lack of education, many of these views however many be true. The lack of interest in going to school for high school or students in general have increased tremendously. Many students have dropped out due to them giving up or laziness and or not having the support needed either at home or at school.
Our best successes often come after our greatest disappointments" (Henry Ward Beecher). Are failure comes from are non understanding of how things are going to work out,but not giveing effort to your goal. I have failed on so many in my career class, but I work hard to succeed in the class. Sometimes you have to fail to succeed.
Many things are happening in Texas that is not entirely for the benefit of the citizens. The education system is terrible, driving on the wrong side of the freeways, and the environment is in desperate need of cleansing. However a major problem going on right now is the education system. Although the need for a better environment to live in and prosper and driving correctly is a crucial factor in being safe and happy; the education that the new generation is receiving must be not only updated but a priority.
I think too many of us are taught that failure is a bad thing. But failure is actually a good thing that can help us get the life we want. The more you know about what you don 't want, and what doesn 't work, the more you can go after what you do
Who wants to fail? Even the most stupid guy in the world doesn’t want to. But if you don’t want something, does that mean you will never get it? Absolutely nope!!! Just like you want $1,000,000, that amount of money won’t fall from heaven when you want it, right? I’m sure, you don’t want to fail, but that’s not a guarantee that you will not fail! That’s why I think the lesson about failure is so valuable.
