Americans in particular have invented many technological devices that have moved the world. A remarkable invention was the telegraph invented by Samuel Morse in 1832. The telegraph sent messages through electric signals across wire, this was the most effective way for information to be spread across America during that time. The telegraph drastically changed communication, instead of taking weeks or months to pass along data or a time sensitive military letter, a message could be sent in minutes. American citizens today are so obsessed with being the future that they forget to live in the present. Wendell Berry, a writer that appreciates simplicity, asserts that Modern America has put education, the economy, and technology over religion, family bonding, happiness, and health. He disapprove the use of electronics because he feels that it does not significantly outclass the usage of a pen and a paper. While electronics did make life simplistic, Berry is correct in disapprove technology in that it alters one’s priorities, causes us to lose our abilities to concentrate, and causes citizens to miss out on the real world around them because it makes humans unable to fully live their life independently.

In “Blue Sky Dream, Beers shows how America eventually became a nightmare for him and other blue sky tribe members. He showed how the government, technology, and secrecy had over ruled the United States. Beers shows how his family and other blue sky tribe families were interwoven into the events throughout history. The “blue sky tribe” consisted of aerospace families, who believe that they would be rewarded for their commitment to corporations like Lockheed, but instead it caused a lot of issues within the families. These families believed in living the American Dream and they soon learned the hard way that the high tech life they were involved in was not quite what they bargained for. These families became apart of something big and important, but it put their lives to the ultimate test. The developing technology was the main factor that led to the ups and downs of these aerospace families.

We rely on technology for everything in our lives today. It is hard for us to be more than ten steps away from our phone. Dependence on technology is even evident in Fahrenheit 451. In the novel, the TV is everything to some people. It becomes their friend their family and even their life. They even have technology that butters their toast and medical procedures. We use technology everyday whether it is our phone, laptop, or ipod. We use them every single day all day long. If something was not to work for a single day our society would crash with the absence of technology.

Millions of people all over the globe utilize technology for a multitude of purposes every day, whether it be at work, school, or even from the leisure of their home. If you were to ask most people in America if they could live without technology even for a day, the answer would most likely be no. Contrary to opinions that are popular with my fellow millennials, I think that society is too dependent on technology. I believe society relies on technology too much because we use the internet for simple tasks that we should be capable of doing ourselves, our dependence has resulted in laziness, and technology is rapidly replacing people in the workplace, thus resulting in less jobs.

A lot of people believe that we are not too dependent on technology. I spoke to my brother; he stated we just utilize it like we would automobiles or anything else like that. There is no denying the benefits of technology, however, I believe we should not get ahead of ourselves.

Technology surrounds us. Like water in the ocean, people are swimming in technology each and every day. From the radio playing a favorite song to a text received about the results of a game, people use technology constantly. However, there is a point at which people are overtaken by technology; when the wave engulfs us and there is no way out. People are becoming more and more dependent on technology. Ever since technology began heavily integrating itself into society, many major uses have developed, but at a cost that brings on dangerous side effects, both mental and physical, as shown by the potential Y2K bug, that will continue unless active measures are sought out by those so dependent on technology.

All around the world, technology has taken over the lives of many, especially children. Each year younger children are being introduced to new technology to help them learn and grow, but the effects of this may be different from what is expected. Rather than seeing growth, the overuse of technology is leading to many issues, including a decline in creativity, less active lifestyles, and difficulty falling asleep. The growing overdependence on and overuse of technology is affecting young children both mentally and physically.

Information technology has an impact on many different aspects of our life. Technology has influenced the economy and on the way people live, communicate and work. The growth and improvement of technology yields to a greater output and huge impact on the economy. Technology innovation provides more efficient and cheaper ways to make existing goods. Many institutions are spending a lot of their revenue on research and development. This resulted in creating new products and new services. Economy has been affected by technology in the number of the increased jobs, the emergence of new and developed services and the use of the Internet to reach customers.

Technology is continuously developing and has begun creating shortcuts for the American society. As a society we need to find a balance between our technological use and our everyday life. In my opinion, society has become too dependent on technology. The more advanced technology becomes, the more it seems to be gaining control over our lives. Even though technology is offering society many beneficial qualities; it also is causing many negative effects to occur. Technology is affecting society socially, mentally, and physically.
