What causes conflict? Well, conflict is caused when there is a disagreement or miscommunication. The Holocaust was a huge and bloody disagreement that led to World War II and was a horrific event that took place in the 1930-1940’s. A man that we’ve probably all heard of, named Adolf Hitler, came into power and participated in the slaughter of nearly 6 million jews, 250,000 disabled, and 196,000-220,000 Gypsies (according to the National Holocaust Memorial Museum website). These deaths were all over the European continent that were under German rule. My position on the main cause for the Holocaust was that the end of World War I left Germany in poverty. With the government in corruption, the people were desperate for change, so they allowed Hitler into power with the belief that others could control him if he did something bad. This obviously wasn’t true. After WWI, Germany fell into poverty. Everyday, lines of people were seen in the streets waiting to purchase bread. People were poor and desperate. Hitler saw this and used it. He gave people hope and the economy improved and he was announced chancellor of Germany in 1933. Government suspected he was unstable, but were convinced they could control him if necessary. Hitler secretly made a new police called the Nazis who were Hitler’s supporters and enforced the law at Hitler’s command. Quickly and unknowingly, the government was no longer in control of Hitler. Hitler had full power of Germany. With the power in Hitler’s reach and the belief that only the healthy German’s were superior to all, Hitler began the Holocaust. He did hate Jewish people the most and deemed them unworthy to live with the Germans, but he also murdered many disabled and Gypsies. First, Hitler tried to get Jews to immigrate. Some did, to other parts of Europe, but when the Nazis took over they were simply shipped away anyway. In addition, the Germans spread rumors of the Jews to try to stop their businesses, and even children were raised to believe that the Jews were bad. One story even said that the Jews tortured German children and laughed when they died to make Jews seem like the worst people in the world. Later they had yellow or white stars, also known as the David Star, painted
From small random acts of kindness to large charities and organizations who aim to help and aid others, humanity has been able to thrive and flourish showing all that we can achieve and accomplish. Sadly things are never as good as they seem because we can also infer that humanity is very much capable of horrific things. Throughout the long and violent course of mankind, there have been many genocides and atrocities that have occurred. The crusades, world wars, and some government enforced genocides are some examples of the horrid events that have taken place in our history, each event being accountable for millions and millions of lives. Out of all them, the most discussed and taught about atrocity is World War II, which took place mainly in Europe from September 1, 1939 to September 2, 1945. Led by the infamous Adolf Hitler, one of the goals of Nazi Germany was to rid Europe of Jews. Hitler's perspective on the Jews was that they caused all of Germany’s problems and even held them responsible for the loss the country had in World War I. By doing so, Hitler made a big enemy.
The Holocaust was an event that Hitler a German leader placed upon his own country. Hitler placed knowledge on many believing that he was one of germany's best leaders in the textual it states some reasons about how Hitler became a german leader and how it effected Germany, “Germany has been struggling since 1918, When it was defeated in World War I. The German people felt humiliated, tired, and bitter. Hitler and his Nazi party rose to power by tapping into these feelings. Hitler declared that Germans were superior to everyone else. He also offered up scapegoat for all of Germany’s problems….” also found, “Hitler’s influence spread”. The Holocaust started because of why they hated the Jews is because of Hitler and how he acted towards the Jews because of the race he thought they were when they were just a religion.
Hitler's first plan was to demean the Jews' reputation. The Jews, who in 1933 numbered 500,000 in Germany which was less than one percent of the population ( The Holocaust), were blamed for economic depression and Germany's defeat in World War I. New laws were created that forced Jews to give their civil service jobs, university and law positions, and other aspects of the public life. Jewish businesses were boycotted in April 1933 ( The Holocaust). Also that year, the first concentration camps opened to begin in the destruction of the Jews, and they were expected to wear a symbol to differentiate themselves, a yellow Star of David. In 1935, the Nuremberg Laws took all personal identity from the Jews and defined them by their religion and heritage alone.
There are several various causes of the Holocaust event, the most common being the adamant hatred of Jewish people in the immediate community. Anti-Semitic views had already been widespread in Europe, even before Hitler’s time. It was believed that the Jews were responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Hitler had tried his hand at becoming a professional artist in Austria, but was struggling heavily. When he would see the Jewish people around living and doing better in life, his hatred grew--presumably out of jealousy. Germany’s defeat in World War I only made it worse. He, and other German soldiers, had blamed Jewish people even further for their loss. In the war only about one hundred-thousand Jews went to war, and only twelve-thousand were lost.
Power, could there be too much of it? Or not enough? In the wrong hands, too much power lead to millions of innocent lives being taken away. One of the world’s most famous dictators takes power and has control on whether you live or die. He may not like the color of your hair, skin or what you believe in and for that, the price you pay is your life.
The Holocaust was a horrific event in our history and should be studied today to insure that these events never happen again. There are several factors and parts of the Holocaust that are cruel and demeaning you would be able to study. Dehumanization of the Jews during the Holocaust pushed them to their absolute limit of starvation, disease, and cruelty, which showed the inhumane acts people are capable of. Also, bringing the Jews back a step in evolution, the cruelty and harsh conditions inflicted upon the Jews reversed their evolvement and civilized behavior. Overall, the Holocaust is a significant time in our history that should be studied and not forgotten.
Causes of the Holocaust The Holocaust took place for a number of reasons some of which were long term and others short term. The main reasons are; for centuries Germany had been an anti-Semitic country Jews were used as scapegoats for German problems. Also centuries of Nazi persecution caused the Holocaust in particular 1933 -1939 as well as Adolf Hitler and his racist views which influenced thousands of Germans.
This History Channel video clip uses animation for the reason of the Holocaust being gruesome and horrific. The intended audience for the video is for people who want to learn more about the rise of the Nazis and how Hitler took power of the Nazi Party. In September 1919 Adolf Hitler joined the German Worker Party, which then became the Nazi Party. President Von Hidenburg made Hitler chancellor and he took power in the government right away. Hitler, a talented speaker persuaded Germans to believe that he would make Germany better. Germans thought they found their “savior”. He blamed all Jews for the post war and punished them by the plan of total extermination with the use of concentration camps. Later Hidenburg died and Hitler made himself
Throughout the endless history, there were lots of important and influential event. For example the Dark Age, Enlightenment, Civil War, World War I and II and the Cold War. Over all of these event, there was one event that deeply influence the world and the Jews today, it was the Holocaust. Holocaust, a term that people use to describe the horrible event that happened during World War II which kill millions of innocent citizens. The Holocaust started at January 13, 1933, when Hitler became the leader of Germany. It continued until the V - E Day, which happened on May 8, 1945. 6 million Jews, and 5 million non-Jews were killed during the Holocaust. The causes and effect of the Holocaust was Hitler’s racism, poor economic conditions, and the death of 6 million Jews which led to the creation of the nation of Israel.
There were many things that caused the Holocaust to occur. Firstly, the Nazi as a political party. The Nazi Party, the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, was a far-right political party residing in Germany from 1920-1945 with the ideology of Nazism. Nazism is distinguished by its strong belief of fascism, anti-semitism and scientific racism. It was founded and ran by Anton Drexler from 1920-1921, then was taken over by Adolf Hitler from 1921-1945. Adolf Hitler, as may know, was one of the lead causes of the Holocaust with the large-scale introduction of Nazism to the German public
The Holocaust is one the most notable examples of the psychological phenomena known as groupthink. As a result of the human instinct to adapt to the people and their culture, individuals begin to think and act in a similar manner. When many different elements such as discrimination against racism come into play, groupthink occurs. Unfortunately, many disastrous events soon follow. The Nazi regime utilised anti-semitism to unify Germany, propaganda to control society’s way of thinking, and fear to oppress individualism and encourage collectivism. Anti-semitism, propaganda, and fear all contributed to the subconscious occurrence of groupthink, that ultimately set the stage for “The Final Solution”, the Holocaust.
The word Holocaust originated from the two Greek words “holos” (whole) and “kaustos” (burned). This played an interesting idea in the beginning of the Holocaust, which started in 1933. The horrific event was run by Adolf Hitler (the German dictator from the early 1930’s all the way to 1945) and the Nazi party (a group of Germans who were the force behind this operation). Hitler’s two main goals sat hand in hand being, racial purity and area expansion. By “clearing out” the Jews in a large area, his “ruled” land would become stronger and larger. Hitler believed in the “all German” life, he found his chance became the chancellor of Germany, becoming the supreme ruler. (The Holocaust)
The Holocaust was an atrocious and tragic event. Jews were forced into labor camps, mass murdered, turned into sex slaves, etc simply because they were seen as an inferior race towards the Nazis. 5-6 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust through starvation or murder. Their living conditions were unfathomable and the way they were treated was unthinkable. Jews lived in crammed spaces and were treated like animals which soon led them to act like animals. The perpetrators of genocide are usually always punished. The victims of genocide are not always forgotten. The deniers of genocide always have the last word. Finally, there are ways to prevent genocides from occurring in the future.
Once in power Hitler quickly established himself as dictator. He started hauling off thousands of anti-Nazis to concentration camps. The economy, the media, and all cultural activities were brought under Nazi authority by making an individual’s livelihood dependent on their political loyalty. His desire was to establish German rule over Europe and other parts of the world. He realized that this would lead to a European conflict and so he started his plan to conquer Europe by invading Poland in 1939 and started World War ll . The war started off good for the Germans but once the United States entered the war they started to lose. As time passed, defeat became more certain, but Hitler refused to give up. Finally with all of Germany overrun by Allied
What Events must occur in someone’s life too cause them to hate? What needs to occur to make someone’s mentality change and view another human being as less than a human being? The real question is, what makes a person want to commit a genocide. However, many people do not know that the Holocaust was one of the many Genocides against the Jews, for example, the Diaspora. The Diaspora was an exile of Jews from their homeland Israel to Babylon in the 6th century, however what made the Holocaust so different was the way that it was organized and its task to eliminate the entire Jewish people. “By the end of World War II, nearly two thirds of Europe's Jewish population had been wiped out leaving a small remainder of the Jewish culture that had existed throughout Europe for nearly 2000 years”. Despites Adolf Hitler’s and the Nazi party’s resentment on Jews for multiple reasons, it is said that the Jews were never a huge threat to the Germans nor in military, economic, or a political threat, they only different from German Society in Religion. So, what really was Hitler’s conspiracy towards the Jews ?
