On Wednesday June 18, 2015 nine shot dead at a historical black church in Charleston, South Dakota and only a month later on July 16, 2015 in Chattanooga, Tennessee with five dead leaving citizens devastated. The past year contains more than 350 mass shootings, averaging 1.02 shootings per day and continuous growing number of deaths, multiple mass shootings around the world leaving dozens of victims in its path. There is no exact definition of mass shootings, but most sources believe it is when four or more people are shot in one location. Citizens in America are easily able to obtain a gun and the growing issue is whether this should change and stronger laws in place. Although citizens believe gun control laws take away second amendment and right to protect themselves, mass shootings are increasing yearly and action needs to happen to prevent the next attack.

The rise in cases of gun violence and related incidences of assault has drawn the public to the issue of guns and gun control. Such has been evident within the spheres of politics especially with the last election period seeing the incumbent president Donald Trump suggesting on stringent gun control laws. However, despite the acknowledgment of the need to have better gun laws, much ground and consensus has never reached. Such, to an extent, contributed to the current lack of political goodwill within the country to have the necessary legislations enacted to facilitate the same on the controls (Grandy 23). In about every nation, gun control has always been an issue of controversy. Gun control laws are quite different from country to country, each possessing different requirements, specifications, and ordinances, so on and so on. What will be examined are the specified gun control laws in three international countries, ranging from Canada, Australia, and Japan, as well as a comparison and contrast of the the similarities and unique differences toward American gun control laws and those in other countries, and finally, the effects of having loose gun control laws. But to understand gun control one must understand the foundation for gun laws which comes from the Second Amendment. With all the states having different rules and restrictions, people are confused and gun laws are broken. All fifty states should raise the age to purchase a gun. This would be sufficient because many young people are too immature to handle guns and be able to control themselves with a deadly weapon. Gun Control is a form of restriction of firearm and firearm related products away from the people in the form of legislation. Many think that gun control is an honorable cause because they think keeping people away from guns will reduce the amount of deaths instantly and over a period of time. Also whenever people hear the word gun, heads instantly race towards negativity and violence. Many people believe think gun control is wrong and that it is not necessary, since many know that guns were not involved in a decent amount of the deaths caused each year. Also that it is not the gun to blame but the person using it as a tool to inflict evil upon others. While many other people disagree and think it is good because of the safety for others.

Gun control is the restrictions or banning of firearms. Gun control refers to laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification, or use of firearms. In my opinion there will always be a debate about it. If I had to choose a side on this gun control debate, it would certainly be against gun control.

America's Gun control laws should be more strict in regulating the availability of firearms. The lenient gun control laws in America cause a higher risk of criminals committing acts of violence with guns, rather than preventing them. It is not difficult to buy guns in America. Background checks for purchasing firearms only take minutes, but when purchasing a gun from a gun show it is not

States with more gun owners have less homicides and since 1993 the homicide rate has dropped 50 percent not counting the recent events that have went on. There is not a law that states that you have to have a permit for a semiautomatic weapon or a bolt action rifle there are papers stating that you own the weapon. Many people want there to be a law passed that states that you must have a permit and that you go through a class that shows that you know what your doing with the rifle. Now there is a law that is mandatory the that you have a permit and papers that state that you have a handgun ever handgun you have to have a permit for it. Now there still is a problem with illegal trade for handguns and rifles people can sell without the government knowing that you have it so if someone buys a gun of anytype they do not have a record of the person with the gun that states that they have it.

Guns are an iffy subject whether we should ban them or not. Makes sense to ban them, Right? Wrong. Guns are needed to protect people, keep animal's carrying capacity just right, and help the police. "A gun in the hands of a bad man is a very dangerous thing. A gun in the hand of a good man is a no danger to anyone except the bad guys"(Charlton Heston) Guns are extremely useful tools. "Gun control means being able to hit your target. If I have a 'hot button' issue, this is definitely it. Don't even think about taking my guns. My rights are not negotiable, and I am totally unwilling to compromise when it comes to the Second Amendment." (Micheal Badnarik) They shouldn't be labeled as a weapon, a pencil could be a weapon.

The US is among the few countries globally that legally allow citizenry ownership of firearms as long as they remain registered. The US Second Amendment provides a legal framework for the acquisition and ownership of guns as a constitutional right (Bernick 1). The right to own firearms in the US, therefore, has authorities both local and state-mandated to the regulation of the guns that find themselves into circulation through registered ownership. The laws however vary across state borders with residents allowed to carry guns in public under either concealment or holstered on permitted areas.
