The Ghoul and the Skeleton fight was like a dance. The Ghoul would lunge forward, claws in front and the skeleton would dodge to the side and strike with the sword. Katherine was proud of her creation. The focus shifted from them to Ashlynn who seemed to be expertly duking it out with Father Royald outside. The door being opened to the courtyard, Katherine took the opportunity to go to the door in case her Skeleton lost the battle. Thinking of skeletons, Kat’s focus returned to her creation. It got a rib ripped off by the Ghoul who was growling at the warrior made of bones. Her creation was not phased much by it, not like the skeleton had any pain receptors anyways. It swung the one-handed sword down onto the head of the ghoul, cracking it open and letting blood flow as the ghoul’s body hit the church floor. Katherine’s creation looked over at her. The creation's words like heavy breathing mixed with ethereal whispers, “Mistress …show more content…
Ironic that the very person that Kat betrayed her family to save had now turned on her. It was to be expected, but even then it caught the young woman off guard. Both hands one bloodied and one not, reached up to try and fail, to pry the Knight’s hand off of Katherine’s neck. “Take the life of an innocent person? I can assure you, Paladin, that although I have no idea what I shall do now that I am free, killing children was not on the list of possibilities.” Katherine spat at her. The creation of her’s charged forward but the necromancer gestured for it to stop. Katherine would be dead before it got close enough to attack. Afterwards, her hands dropped down to her sides. “Now, whether you believe me or not is up to you.” A faux smile spread across KAtherine’s face, the betrayal still hurting. Although she could not blame the Paladin, she knew their code well enough to know she violated it. Was it understandable? Yes. Was it fair to Katherine?
When Katsa fishes him out, she and Bitterblue dress the wound in his shoulder, slump him over a horse, and set out for the king was not dead and the only one who could kill him was knocked out.
While carrying Kat, who is wounded, to the dressing station, he states, “Kat my friend, … Kat with whom I have shared these years-it is impossible that perhaps I shall not see Kat again. ”(289) After
Katherine Dettwyler’s work in the field while she was in West Africa was exciting, filled with humor and even terrifying at times. She dealt with seeing various life-threatening diseases that affected the lives of children her daughter’s age, as well as adults. Dettwyler found that almost all of the people she came in contact with were completely oblivious and uninformed of the ways to prevent diseases such as malaria, Schistosomiasis, malnutrition and other infectious diseases unique to their region of the world. In her book, Dancing Skeletons: Life and Death in West Africa (1994), Dettwyler discusses tons of the health problems she comes across, in

Dr. Gabor Mate, a Hungarian born Canadian physician, who is also a neurologist, psychiatrist, and psychologist, but who specializes in the study and treatment of addiction, reveals revolutionary evidence pertaining to addiction. In Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, Dr. Mate worked with patients suffering chronic drug addiction for 12 years. With 20 years of experience as a family practitioner, Dr. Mate is a renowned speaker and teacher throughout North America; sharing his extensive knowledge with diverse audiences including health care professionals and educators (Mate, About Dr. Mate, 2016). The Realm of Hungry Ghosts, Dr. Mate’s most recent best-selling book, illuminates the origins and causes of addiction. As Co-founder of Compassion for Addiction (a non-profit organization), Dr. Gabor Mate encourages a greater understanding; “addiction is the attempt of affected human beings to escape a profound discomfort with themselves and their world” (Mate, Compassion4Addiction, 2015). Drawing on cutting-edge science, Dr. Mate presents the world with a shocking discovery: “The source of addiction is not to be found in genes, but in the early childhood environment.” Therefore, Dr. Mate simply “calls for a more compassionate approach toward the addict.” (Mate, 2016) As cutting-edge science concludes addiction to be a mental health issue, rather than criminal behavior, the American legal system demonstrates a devastating disservice to its own society.
Kathryn gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was a brave, clumsy, tea drinker with dirty eyebrows and charming lips. Her friends saw her as an ancient, angry artist, but she's been trying to fix her image. Once, she had even saved an obedient puppy that was
She whipped her eyes towards him, but suddenly lurched and fell to the ground. The world slowed, she felt something warm and sticky pool around her. She had managed to turn her head in his direction, only then seeing the enemy army that had caught up with them. One knight savaged her son with his sword and then discarded his body. She tried to reach him, but a spear protruding from her back weighed her down. Then she saw us again, watched as the way the enemy avoided us . She felt cold, knowing her time had come , she looked right in my eyes as her life thread was cut. The end frayed as her body slumped to the ground, but it didn’t matter. She was one insignificant life that we had
I have a hard-working double-life of a human and ghoul identity. As a human, I am a normal school girl that attends school, having normal acquaintances and a waitress at the Anteiku Cafe. Ironically, as a ghoul, I have a reckless and ruthless attitude. Ghoul investigators captured my father when me and my brother, Ayato were still young, notwithstanding the fact the we tried to blend human society, to the point of my father, Arata, taught us how to eat human foods. As a result, I have a personal hatred towards them and did my first killing together with Ayato, trying to protect ourselves from
Eve roared violently, her red eyes filled with anger, being cursed as a vampire had driven her to swear an oath that she would have her revenge. A sudden reflection of moonlight startled Eve; I knew it was my only chance to eliminate her. With all my might, I thrust the wooden stake into Eve’s heart. Letting out a loud scream of pain, Eve fell to the ground. The reflection was from the locket that my mother gave me for
As a child, I was very small-minded regarding concepts such as “justice”. I looked up to my parents, and their views and morals heavily influenced my perspective of life. In my head, there was a distinct line between right and wrong. There was no such thing as a gray area between black and white. Later in life, I started to learn that that was not the case.

The unfair treatment brought upon Katherine reveals more than just the state of the court, though: it shows the response of a person in the face of injustice. Toward the end of Katherine’s time onstage, her tone and language become more fierce and aggressive, the turning point of this being “Sir, I am about to weep, but thinking that we are a queen, or long have dreamed so, certain the daughter of a king, my drops of tears I’ll turn to sparks of fire.” (2.4.69). When faced with unfair treatment, Katherine becomes enraged and vehemently defends herself, calling attention to the Cardinal’s prejudice toward her, saying “I do believe, induced by potent
Sinking my teeth into the pale skin, I closed my eyes and ripped off the flesh of the human. It had been a student, with black short hair and brown eyes. He had been quite tall, but that was all I remembered, as I never focused on people’s appearances. It was always the smell that mattered. Some humans have extraordinarily sweet aroma, that made my mouth water from hunger the second it reached my nose. Those were the people I went for. They were delicious, and sometimes made my heart skip a beat because of the wonderful taste.
Although both situations were different as well as circumstances Nora and Kristine were forced to ask another for help. This action shows humility in both women humbling themselves to ask fed help in their time of need. Nora had just given
The prince thought that her punishment should be three years in prison. But Katherine was not happy with that. She argued for an hour, which was a mistake because now she was scheduled for execution the next morning. Katherine was brought down to the dungeon and was really scared for everything that was coming. It had been an hour and she knew that she was going to not going to be able to sleep. Another hour passed and she kept hearing this weird stomping sound that was getting
