The Ghoul and the Skeleton fight was like a dance. The Ghoul would lunge forward, claws in front and the skeleton would dodge to the side and strike with the sword. Katherine was proud of her creation. The focus shifted from them to Ashlynn who seemed to be expertly duking it out with Father Royald outside. The door being opened to the courtyard, Katherine took the opportunity to go to the door in case her Skeleton lost the battle. Thinking of skeletons, Kat’s focus returned to her creation. It got a rib ripped off by the Ghoul who was growling at the warrior made of bones. Her creation was not phased much by it, not like the skeleton had any pain receptors anyways. It swung the one-handed sword down onto the head of the ghoul, cracking it open and letting blood flow as the ghoul’s body hit the church floor. Katherine’s creation looked over at her. Ironic that the very person that Kat betrayed her family to save had now turned on her. It was to be expected, but even then it caught the young woman off guard. Both hands one bloodied and one not, reached up to try and fail, to pry the Knight’s hand off of Katherine’s neck. “Take the life of an innocent person? I can assure you, Paladin, that although I have no idea what I shall do now that I am free, killing children was not on the list of possibilities.” Katherine spat at her. The creation of her’s charged forward but the necromancer gestured for it to stop. Katherine would be dead before it got close enough to attack. Afterwards, her hands dropped down to her sides. “Now, whether you believe me or not is up to you.” A faux smile spread across KAtherine’s face, the betrayal still hurting. Although she could not blame the Paladin, she knew their code well enough to know she violated it. Was it understandable? Yes. Was it fair to Katherine?
