Who we call Heroes
“Hard times don’t create heroes, it is during the hard times when the ‘hero’ within us is revealed” - Unknown A hero is not always the idea we have of people who save other people and that risk their life for others, it goes beyond that. A hero is someone that follows the Hero’s Journey. The Hero’s journey is the cycle of life that people go through to become heroes. Not everyone can become a world known hero, but you can be a hero to someone else like little kids, your friends and even your family. A hero can always be an ordinary person because a hero starts off as an ordinary person and goes through stages that make them an example for others. There are different stages of the Hero’s Journey. All heroes have to start of with an

Way before he became president, he was an ordinary person. He used to have his top hat and put books and paper to practice reading & writing in his free time. He worked as a boatman, store clerk, and many more stuff. He became the 16th president of the United States of America and ended slavery. He preserved the union in the U.S Civil war and played a key role in the passage of the 13th amendments. Another example of a hero are the people at the shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. They are heroes because they didn't have plan to save people and from out of nowhere, they had to think fast and do something for other people. They were jumping on top of each other to protect one another. Others were getting their cars and picking up people and driving away. They went from normal people going to a concert, to heroes that did something to save their community. An example of someone that is not a hero is my brother. Although, he can become a hero later in life by helping out other citizens, etc. As of right now, he is just a normal/ ordinary person that just lives his life like any other person, but anyone at any given moment can become a
Heroes come in different shapes, sizes, and looks. Maybe someone you saw on the street one day was heroic for saving someone’s life in a car accident. A hero to me is someone who can be brave in situations that aren’t so safe, and take a risk to make sure everyone is okay, no matter who
Heros can people regular people with normal abilities. To really be considered a hero, one must prove it. Bob Riley once said, “Hard times don't create heroes. It is during the hard times when the 'hero' within us is revealed.”
Believe it or not, everyone has a hero of some kind; someone who is related to you, someone famous you admire and many other kinds of heroes. Everyone has a hero who puts others before themselves, someone who is polite, positive and someone who goes above and beyond to help others. Anyone can be a hero at any given time or in any given place.
Many people who do not consider themselves heroes, but others may think them much more than that. People who just smile and say hi and change a life forever. Hero are not born. They're made - sculpted by the choices they make and the people in their lives. A hero is not some abstract being, some superhuman, with inhuman power, or a perfectly selfless and good person.
As Novalis a famous German poet and philosopher once stated, “A hero is one who knows how to hang on one minute longer.” A hero shows worry as all people do, but can push through and be courageous. A hero works for others, not thinking of themselves. Because heroes are people who put others before themselves, going above and beyond without the worry of their own safety.
To me a hero is someone who can overcome trials and tribulations. A hero is brave enough to face the world and help others in a time of need. Langston Hughes is a good example of a hero because he helped his community and other young people in the world.
A hero is not a man in tights or a cape. An example of a hero is a character named mulan, from the movie mulan. I think she is a hero because she is strong enough to face her many challenges and strong enough to overcome her imperfection. One challenge that mulan had to deal with was having to save china in war from the Huns.
To numerous people a hero is a person with supernatural gifts and great gallantry. It is someone that would save lives and help make the world a better place like Superman for example. A list of these mainstream heroes can extended a mile long, however, that is not the case in reality. Real world heroes are seen much differently from fictional characters. People are labeled heroes based on two words: positive impact.
Heroes are commonly known as fictional characters like Captain America or Superman but the truth is that anyone can be a hero. The true definition of a hero is someone who is idolized or looked up to for his or her own accomplishments or traits. There are many examples of real life heroes and folktale heroes told throughout the world. One example would be folktale story Joe Magarac who worked in an iron ore mine. Another example would be male Sheldon Smith who created a program dedicated to helping young African American teenagers learn how to be a man and take care of their children. Another example would be American soldier Dennis Weichel who risked his own life so save an Afghanistan girl from being ran over. All of these stories show different traits of real life and folktale characters and what they did to help. All of these stories show that different character traits make up a hero.
Heros are willing to help no matter the situation. There way a guy on a French train with a Luger automatic pistol with extra ammo, but was tackled, beaten and tied up before he could do harm to anyone. He was a hero by tackling an armed person to save lives by risking his. Frederick Douglas was a former slave who was afraid to talk to anyone in fear of being captured. He said, “I was afraid to speak to anyone for fear of speaking to the wrong one and thereby falling into the hands of money loving kidnappers whose business it was to lie in wait for the panting fugitive as the ferocious beasts of the forest lie in wait for their prey.” SB, page 71. He helped get rid of slavery which is a big heroic act. There were boats in danger of falling buildings. One of the boatman said, “Were are a big orange target in the middle of the target. In conclusion they all went beyond what a normal person would do.
A single mother sacrifices her life for her child’s. A fire fighter runs into a burning building to save a dog and her pups. A soldier dies on the battlefield for his country. These people are all examples of heroes. A hero is “a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities” (Hero).
One way a hero can be considered a hero is to save someone's life. One example of this is United States Army soldiers that are fighting a war in iraq for our country and they protect the citizens there but they don't have to they can let them die. The Reason is their not fighting for them their fight for the United States of America and the people in
To me, an example of a hero would be a fearless nineteen year old girl from Pakistan determined to make a change. Her name is Malala Yousafzai. In 2012, fifteen year old Malala was shot by the Taliban for speaking up for what should be considered a basic right.
Hero. According to Webster’s New World Dictionary, a hero is defined as “any person, male or female, admired for courage, nobility, etc.” (Webster’s New World Dictionary, “hero 1”). Webster’s Pocket Dictionary, comparably, defines a hero as “a person of great courage, spirit, etc., especially one who has undergone great danger or difficulty” (Webster’s Pocket Dictionary, “hero 3”). Heroes are not born heroes. Yes, everyone is born with the ability to be a hero, but in time, they may or may not become one. In our society, heroes are greatly acclaimed in the media. Whenever some person takes a bullet for a loved one or saves a child from a burning building, there is a huge deal made about it, and they become known as heroes. But a person does not have to physically save someone’s life to be a hero. A hero can also be someone who simply stands up for what he or she believes. Much like Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird, a hero can be someone who knows what is right and does the right thing, even if he is ridiculed for doing so. Also, whether or not a person is a hero depends on the perspective of the person. For instance, a little girl may think her father is the greatest man alive, but her first grade classmate does not think so- instead, she thinks her father is a hero. The daughters of the man who is known for deterring United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, 2001 definitely think him a
People think of heroism in a very different way.Individuals who hold specific positions or just people who are known by way of doing something to make a difference . Anyone can be a hero . It is just the way you carry and present yourself . Also it is what your intentions are, either they are helpful and useless.
