“Hard times don’t create heroes, it is during the hard times when the ‘hero’ within us is revealed” - Unknown A hero is not always the idea we have of people who save other people and that risk their life for others, it goes beyond that. A hero is someone that follows the Hero’s Journey. The Hero’s journey is the cycle of life that people go through to become heroes. Not everyone can become a world known hero, but you can be a hero to someone else like little kids, your friends and even your family. A hero can always be an ordinary person because a hero starts off as an ordinary person and goes through stages that make them an example for others. There are different stages of the Hero’s Journey. Way before he became president, he was an ordinary person. He used to have his top hat and put books and paper to practice reading & writing in his free time. He worked as a boatman, store clerk, and many more stuff. He became the 16th president of the United States of America and ended slavery. He preserved the union in the U.S Civil war and played a key role in the passage of the 13th amendments. Another example of a hero are the people at the shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. They are heroes because they didn't have plan to save people and from out of nowhere, they had to think fast and do something for other people. They were jumping on top of each other to protect one another. Others were getting their cars and picking up people and driving away. They went from normal people going to a concert, to heroes that did something to save their community. An example of someone that is not a hero is my brother. Although, he can become a hero later in life by helping out other citizens, etc. As of right now, he is just a normal/ ordinary person that just lives his life like any other person, but anyone at any given moment can become a
