How does aggression relate to gun ownership/use? Does aggression actually have an effect on gun control? There have been many studies done that says it does. But, the question is, does everyone with a gun have to take it out with their aggression. Not everyone does take it out but there is a great amount of people that actually do. I am going to talk about the studies that have been done and how they impact society.

Currently, in the United States we have a lot of violence going on. Is it because people are angry at things that have happened? Is it because they haven’t had a stable bringing up? People are able to have a permit to carry weapons in public places. I think that they need to do deeper background checks on these people and what they will be using them for. If they have had a history of criminal records or anger issues, DO NOT ISSUE them a permit to carry. I think it is scary for us to trust someone who could have anger issues and then take it out on people with a gun. I know that it’s like this for anything, but a gun is super scary.

There are some statistics for people who own a gun. An estimated 270-300 million guns are owned by Americans. 45 million Americans own handguns. Eleven of the past 20 worst mass shootings have occurred in the United States. Seeing these statistics, I think we need to try our hardest to either reduce anger or reduce the amount of guns we have out with people (Williams,
2012).

Many people are frustrated with the media and how they glorify guns on the news. The news is portraying gun use and ownership as an American value, that you need to own a gun to live in the United States. Lately, gun ownership has been connected to all the crimes that have

been happening lately. Take the recent shooting in Tennessee where the guy came into the church and started shooting. A man went on a rampage and started shooting people after church was let out (Andone, Gamble, Watts, 2017). What were his motives to do this? Nobody knows why he did it.
