A detective who is well known in the city was asked to help to solve the mystery of the stolen diamonds not knowing that Klimo is indeed Simon Carne in disguise. In comparison to Peter Parker who is also Spiderman in disguise, there’s always another side to a person. Even though she is not one to have another identity to her like Carne, her character is important. She was the one who’s the diamond necklace belonged to and was stolen from her out of her home. In the story she is identified as the innocent one. “Perhaps it would interest you to see my famous necklace” (Boothby 31). When the Duchess says that to Carne she then has no idea what was going on and what has going happen to her necklace and she trusted him. Once the diamond necklace was stolen Boothby reports, “the Duchess was far too upset by the catastrophe to see any one” (44). From that description we can tell how much the necklace meant to her and how she didn’t know that after showing Carne the necklace hours before and having it returned that it was going to get stolen. Furthermore, as the Duchess of Wiltshire is innocent and doesn’t have a second identity like Carne, there is one other person that
In Marie Lu’s Legend, Day shows his true character when he faces tough obstacles and rigorous tasks throughout the novel. For example, Day’s valor/bravery shows when Day rushes into the hospital to find the cure for his family. This shows that without a care for his own well-being he is looking for what's best for the ones he cares about. This also shows that even though he knew the consequences he still decided to look for the greater good.

The character Madame Defarge plays a role as one of the leading villains in Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities, whose actions turn out to be one of the major causes of the French Revolution in the book. The main influence of Madame Defarge's hatred is fueled by a self-centered issue that was germinated by another family who happens to be aristocratic. In Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities, Madame Defarge is justified in her hatred against the St. Evremonde family because her sister was raped and her brother was killed by the two patriarchs.
Marie Lu’s novel, Legend, is focused on two main characters, Day (Daniel Atlan Wing) and June Iparis. Day is a criminal on the run for stealing from the Republic while June, on the other hand, is an elite student at Drake University at the age of fifteen and the Republic’s most prized prodigy. Day watches his family from afar because they have been led to believe that he is dead, he one day sees that his family has a deadly plague. This leads Day to believe that he has to go steal plague medicine from the hospital. June and her older brother, Metias, are orphans, since Metias is a captain in the government, this always leaves June at home alone or at school acting out. On the night that Day decides to steal the medicine, Metias is on duty and
RED QUEEN BY VICTORIA AVEYARD The novel, “Red Queen”, written by Victoria Aveyard is about a girl called Mare Barrow who lives in a society separated by the colour of their blood, red or silver. Unlike the red-blooded people, the silvered blooded are considered elite and better because they have special abilities. Mare Barrow is special as she has the blood of a red but the abilities of a silver. I admire Mare Barrow as she is loyal to her family and friends and blood.

The only way to stop the Colonies is to find a cure for the disease. In the dystopian book Champion by Marie Lu the dual first person point of view shows how Day’s and June’s decision contrast because of the way they think. When Day sees the patriots he reacts with emotion however when June sees them she keeps her cool.
Assertion :The Odyssey and The Princess Bride, courage is knowing the odds are against you and moving forward anyway. Evidence: The princess Bride courage quote– “IT WAS NOT, in point of fact, her Westley that was causing the commotion out front. Westley was doing all he could to simply walk straight down the incline toward the main gate without help. Ahead of him, Inigo struggled with the heavy wheelbarrow.
Most fairytales have a hero. These heroes will often become successful at the end of the story. They will often get what they want and ride off into the sunset. Most of the time, the hero will follow the pattern of the hero’s journey, Which will ultimately lead the character through the story, and eventually become the reason for success. Likewise, in “The Princess Bride” By William Goldman, the hero’s journey is shown almost perfectly, in the character, Westley. Westley follows almost every stage of the hero's journey. Whether it be rescuing buttercup, being brought back to life, or even losing feeling in his body. Although Westley and buttercup are separated, they will eventually be able to go through any problems that present themselves and unite by way of Westley’s hero’s journey.
Sue Monk Kidd has introduced very complex, yet simple characters that can be easily related to by many readers of the novel. Rosaleen has a tough exterior, but truly cares for Lily Owens, as T.Ray Owens is unpleasant, and considered to be abusive toward Lily. Further on, we have Zachary Taylor, a handsome, charismatic football player while working for August in her honey house develops feelings for Lily, as there’s June Boatright with a heart of gold, yet is distrusting in regards to Lily at first. These character are just a few of the many that entail the plot, and make them relatable. Although, like I said Sue Monk Kidd has developed many character that we can relate to, I believe I relate to Lily Owens the most in “The Secret Life of Bees.”
Buttercup, a milkmaid, falls in love with Westley, the farm boy, but Prince Humperdinck wants to take Buttercup as his bride to murder her and start a war. Westley must save Buttercup from Humperdinck while dealing with kidnappers, a Fire Swamp, and being tortured till he was mostly dead. A rhyme loving giant, a revenge seeking Spaniard, and a Miracle Man help Westley storm the castle and save Buttercup. In the process, Westley becomes the Dread Pirate Roberts, the Spaniard gets his long owed revenge, and the giant makes a new friend.

In the novel Jubilee, the character Vyry is displayed as a virtuous woman. In fact, this one character exemplifies the spirit of the African American woman. According to an excerpt by Margaret Walker, the author of Jubilee it is evident that the character Vyry possesses these admirable virtues. “Peasant and slave, unlettered and untutored, she was nevertheless the best true example of the motherhood of her race, and ever present assurance that nothing could destroy a people whose sons had come from her loins.” (Walker, p. 486) I believe this quote means no matter where you come from, nor your background, that doesn’t decide who you are, or who you become. You choose the person you want to be. Nothing

The play starts when Vindice talking to us about how Duke poisoned the lady he loved for a long time because she does not want him. Later, Vindice swears he will have revenge on the Duke. Ambitioso also promises “a trick to set thee free”, whereas Spurio wants him dead so that he has fewer rivals. The Duchess was angry on the Duke for not saving the life of her son and wants revenge on him as well. However, I notice the Duchess seems to be in love with Spurio, and push him to also revenge on the Duke. Later in the story, the other nobles decided to kill Duchess’s son if the court was showing mercy. The play had a really amazing hook, it made the audience really engaged in the action and it had a sense of humor. Lastly, the overall mood of the
