Coincidentally, Mary Ann had been dreaming about working at MGM after driving past it one day. Mary Ann took the job offer and got the job title that she has today; the Director of Guest Experience at MGM Grand Casino. With the effort that she put into everything that she did, Mary was able to accomplish her dreams. Results speak louder than anything anyone can say, and with Mary’s accomplishments, it’s hard to argue against her methods.
Mary Ann also stressed that you need to create the person you want to be. One of the ways you can do this is to figure out the gap of where you are, and where you want to be. Mary Ann didn’t just become the Director of Guest Experience at MGM, she worked 19 years in the industry to do so, and in that time got experience in various other fields so she’s able to do the job that she has now. She filled the gap between where she was and where she wanted with those experiences and accomplished her long-term goal. In addition to that, Mary Ann said that we have to organize ourselves. Mary Ann claims that the problem she has the most when hiring youthful people is that they have no organization. Those young people that are hired are known to miss out on deadlines and always coming up with excuses. Instead of victimizing ourselves, we should be more organized. Finally, Mary Ann also claimed that if there’s something that we want, we need to get

Marissa Nuñez utilized whatever circumstances she encountered while working at McDonald’s, like learning how to work a specific grill, constantly promoting within her fast food center, and even dealing with rude customers, and transformed those circumstances into valuable lessons. Working at McDonald’s and experiencing the lessons connected to the job allowed for Nuñez to shape her own personality, transitioning from the typical high schooler to a motivated, independent, and sensible individual. Marissa Nuñez and her narrative on working at McDonald’s, titled Climbing the Golden Arches, is a great example on how any type of career can influence a person on becoming a better

2). And her power, as everyone has seen, did not come naturally – she had to learn it. In fact, she has always strived to achieve the impossible. For this reason, Martinez escaped to the worlds she found in books, music, television, and movies. In the hope that one day life would imitate art.

As much as we would all like to believe that the world is less judgemental than it really is, it is extremely hard to ignore when the harsh reality is presented to you in sheer numbers, or rather someone’s personal experience with it , like Tina Fey’s. When remembering the notably less attractive attributes of our nation’s employment system, it is refreshing to hear in the first perspective that it is not only possible to make it big in the corporate world of bosses, but to make it out with a positive attitude. Even more surprisingly,Through her success, Fey discovered the key; that in order to do what seems so impossible, we must not look to help from the society that restricts us, but to look to ourselves who will ultimately always be the best self motivators and supporters. Through the comparison of Tina Fey’s delightfully positive depiction of a very ugly reality in the world, it is learned that even though the path may look difficult, it is not impossible to make it, and make it with a smile fueled by
