The Taliban founded in the year of 1994 by a man named Mullah Mohammad Omar. It originated in Afghanistan and was created with the purpose of destroying the foreign military in Afghanistan and to reestablish the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan under strict Sharia Law ("Taliban Narrative"). The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan would then be brought back into play in the year of 1996. However, the event that led to the creation of the Taliban happened almost a decade earlier in the year of 1979. In 1979 the Soviets began invading Afghanistan, they were there for about ten years and then withdrew late in the year of 1988 and early 1989. Mujahedeen forces then removed the soviet government in the year of 1992 and led to rivalry between groups. A year

While they had the power of Afghanistan they had imposed strict laws which were called the Islamic laws.Taliban mostly consisted of Afghan tribal men. Soon after that Al Qaeda set of to support them. The Taliban, similar to Al-Qaeda, is a Sunni Islamic organization in Afghanistan whose main goal is to gain more support and power. Bruce Riedel claims that without the safe haven/sanctuary the Taliban offered to Al-Qaeda, the 9/11 attacks would have never occurred; one of the most devastating events in American History. According to Frontline, Al-Qaeda began its relationship with the Taliban around 1996. During the War on Terror, the Taliban assisted Al-Qaeda by refusing to turn in Al-Qaeda members including Osama bin Laden. Al-Qaeda and the Taliban remain together
The situation in Afghanistan actually began in 1979 when the Soviet Union invaded their country. The United States funded money to the "mujahedin," or holy warriors, in the name of stopping communism. From this support, Afghanistan was able to defeat the Soviet Union in 1989. Yet the country became very unstable after the war. Political power was fluctuating often and leaders came in and out of power rapidly. Farmers resorted to growing many drugs such as poppies and marijuana and sold them around the globe. Cities were annihilated. Over five million Afghanis fled to other countries in search of a better life. When the Afghanis turned to the United States for help in rebuilding our country, we refused. This caused great anger amongst the Afghani people directed toward the United States. This also lead to Mullah Mohammod Omar, the current leader of Afghanistan, to form a ground of men to "rebuild" his country. They are now known as the Taliban. Omar's personal description is, "A simple band of dedicated youths determined to establish the laws of God on
Taliban means students and this name was chosen to symbolize how they were going to learn from their ancestors and take back their land and prevent it from being taken again. THey then engaged in Jihad, or “Holy war”, to take back afghanistan. Not long after the assault began they regained control of most of the upper part of afghanistan. Other factions had also risen and a war of multiple fronts started and thats how it was so quick to regain control. The area of Afghanistan was once again split into 3 major territories and completely obliterated. The Taliban then became a superpower, in relative terms to its opponents, and began to take control of all the Afghanistan territory. Uniting it, but at a cost. It promised to have a strict interpretation of the Quran, the Islamic holy book. But soon became corrupt and only became abusive to women and children and severely disadvantaged the males. To fund this foul government they allowed terrorists to take refuge, one such group was al-Qaeda. Headed by Osama bin-Laden, he began to lead the Taliban government from behind the scenes and he, along with interpretations from the Quran, was that the
The Taliban has been fighting the righteous fight to reclaim Afghanistan since the American 's unlawful invasion of 2001. Opposition to the United States and the current Afghan Ghani
In an age when mankind has the ability to completely annihilate itself through nuclear combat, war can be a more terrifying and powerful thought than ever before. Unfortunately, because of the extent of the actions that the Taliban has committed against both America and its own followers, the United States’ war against terrorism seems to be a necessity. I do feel, however, as if there are many things that can be done by the American government in the near future to peacefully approach a more civil and politically involved Afghanistan. Although my feelings on a war against terrorism are mixed, I do feel that significant actions must be taken in order to restrict the spread of
The Taliban are a part of history and people should be aware of who they are and what they do. The Taliban has evolved over the years and unfortunately have grown stronger over the years. They started off as a group of students and it is sad to know that these students who could have started with a good future ended up being a part of a terrorist group. They think they are doing right because they may read the Quran but they only focus on the words and passages they want to hear and say to defend their terrorist group without reading the passage or verse fully and trying to understand the real words of Allah. The Taliban have been around for a long time and as a result the Taliban havetaken over territory such as Afghanistan and many others. One of the territories the Taliban has is Afghanistan and the government is seen as corrupted because they help the Taliban. Corruption may exist anywhere but would the Afghan government be supporting the Taliban with weapons because they want to or because of fear?
Mullah Muhammad Omar, the leader of the Afghanistan Taliban Regime and one of the most wanted men by the United States (U.S.) government. I don't like this being told what to do, when too do it and how. I am to scared to go outside the Taliban, they're always watching you. I know what they did to Father and I don't want that for me.
Imagine this… Imagine a world where you do not go to school due to the fear being bombed, or being shot to death by an intruder. Over the years, little by little, this has started happening. In just a little over 14 years, America itself has had 2 major terrorist attacks, and many terrorism threats. The people who came upon the idea of persecuting these people are called terrorists, and are part of numerous different groups. One of the terrorist groups, called the Taliban, which is led by Mullah Mohammed Omar, had enforced many harsh rules among thousands of innocent people whom they have kidnapped and are now under their rule. Punishment for breaking these rigorous rules, usually results in forced death. This is the situation in the
Under the Taliban rule women and girls were essential denied everything a society has to offer for the people, the ban of education for females was one of the most devastating hits Afghan girls and women had to face for almost five years. Education for girls was limited up to age 8 and only type of education that was allowed was restricted to learning the Quran. According to Skaine “In January 2000, UNICEF reported that 90 percent of the girls in Afghanistan and 75 percent of the boys were not attending school in Taiban-controlled areas.” The illiteracy rates arose as a result of ban on education, when asked “Describe Taliban’s view on women’s education? How did impact you or other girls and women you
