"Not that Emma had ever cared much about the approval of the Clave."
It's been five years since the Y were threatened to extinction by a man named Sebastian Morgenstern. Emma Carstairs's parents were killed during an attack. However, Emma strongly believes that her parents weren't killed by Sebastian and his cohorts. She knows it was not his doing. Emma and the Blackthorns, her 'adopted family', work together to discover who the true murderer is.
That is just the Sparknotes summary of the book. So much happens in this book, and I have not calmed down since finishing it.
I read The Mortal Instruments in the middle of seventh grade, and I absolutely adored this series. TMI was *one* of the series

Sometimes the pacing is really slow and sometimes the pace is super fast. Lady Midnight was quite slow at some points because the book is 668 pages. At some points, I was getting discouraged by the length of the book. I am so glad I pushed through and finished because I loved the book so much.
The characters in this book were so good. The Blackthorn family were so tight and lovely. Honestly, *behind the Weasleys* the Blackthorns are one of my favorite book families. Also, I can't express how thorough the plot was. The entire book was planned very well, and I am EAGERLY waiting for the next book. It was just SO GOOD.
Note: You don't have to read The Mortal Instruments or The Infernal Devices in order to read Lady Midnight. However, it will help significantly if you have read them. They make character references to both TMI and TID.
I rated Lady Midnight a 5/5 stars on the Goodreads scale. Cassandra Clare is one of my favorite authors, and I can't wait for the next book.
What did you guys think of Lady Midnight? Let me know down in the comments. Can't wait to see what you guys think. Thanks for reading. See you soon!

Goodreads:
I think that this work is a very well put together book. Even though In the earlier questions I make it sound like a ten on ten this book is not. I rate this book a 9/10 for the soul reason that it was on a very directed path and you could the events that were going to happen before they did by just reading the book. Even the twist that the author put in were not that book which made some of the book predictable and who really wants a book in which they know everything that is going to happen.
Like I said in my mid-way point journal entry, I feel that the book took a while to pull me in. I would also like to note that in the second half of the book, which I count is after the sixteenth chapter about to be the seventeenth chapter, I am being pulled in very fast. Lewis jumps right out and does not start with a small issue, such as an argument between the man and his mother. He creates very difficult situations that the man has to be careful of or he will fall into the temptation of Wormwood and join the dark side. Later, I will go more in depth with some of the big issues at hand in this book.
For the most part, the novel was very enjoyable. One aspect of it that I loved was that the storyline was extremely intense, which always compelled me to find out what would happen next. For example,
I don’t really recommend this book to anyone and I have a few reasons why. One reason is because I felt that there was too much going on in the book and it was very confusing. Another reason is because the book is very long and takes a lot of pages (more than half the book) to get started. My last reason is if the book is too hard and confusing to you, you can't even look up summary notes on the book because there's nothing on it.
Harry Potter has been known to capture the hearts of both the young and old. My favorite books out of this series has to be the very last two. It is the most exciting time in the boy wizards life as he tries to defeat the evil Lord Voldermort. For those of us that haven't jumped on the Harry Potter wagon yet it is not too late! J.K. Rowling writes in a way that moves you along in the story and makes you want to read more.
The first half of the book is set up. You flash from character to character in order to get an understanding for who they are what they will go through. During these open chapters you applaud the author for creating a cast of unique
In closing, I think the book is awesome and I really enjoyed reading it. The dialogue was writing amazingly and the characters traits and beliefs were on key. I also really enjoyed the relationships between Henry and Keiko as well as the relationship between Henry and his
This book was just a mess for me. It seemed like the wrong direction for this book to take, with so much of the story being taken up with travelling, and the reader being assaulted with new people, new places and new things every hundred pages. It was too much at once, and there was at least two books worth of content in Shadow Scale, and it was really too much information and not enough actual story. Seraphina struck the right balance of story and character development,
I gave this book four stars because it is a very good book and I want to read the rest of the six books in the series but it does not have a lot of action. I like this book because the characters are around my age, seventeen to nineteen. I can relate to the characters a lot and it is very nice to see that, besides protecting vampires and being vampires, they have a lot of the same problems in their life as any other high school student. I cannot wait to see where the other six books take me.
This novel really doesn’t feel like the second book in a series, which usually tend to drag to set up for the third novel. This novel is extremely fast paced with a lot of action and nothing that really drags down the narrative. While there subplots that are left unresolved for the third novel, everything was wrapped up enough in this novel that I was satisfied with the ending. Once
I loved this book so much. There is so much action and is so much better and exciting with so much amazing detail and description. This is one of my favorite books ever. When you read it, you don’t want to put it down and it makes you feel like you are with the characters in the book and you know them so well. I recommend this book to anyone who can read at this level.
I love Cassandra Clare’s books, I really do and after I have been waiting for Lady Midnight for over a year, I was pretty excited and had quite high expectations. Let me tell you that they have been meet!
Book Review/Recommendation- I give this book 10 out of 10. It was very creative, and hooked me right away. For anyone who likes a good mystery this book is a good one to choose.
Let me explain why, Clare included a handful of scenes that is excessive to the plot. It takes away the mystery and anticipation I always seek. Hence, why the book is extremely long, and why some of the contents are tedious. In spite of this, Lady Midnight managed to hit some of my sweet spots.
This book was really enjoyable and I would definitely read more of her books. I really enjoy them because they are very exciting and keep you guessing who the killer is. It was one of the best I have read of hers and hope that her other books I have yet to read have the same excitement as this
