While it is good for the economy, fracking is dangerous and bad because it could damage the air, the water, and damage the health of citizens. Fracking is good for the economy because it can provide many jobs for people who are unemployed. Fracking can damage the air because the waste fluid that is left behind from fracking releases harmful VOC’S into the atmosphere which causes contaminated air. Fracking could damage the water because during the process of fracking methane gas and toxic and chemical leach out from the system and contaminates nearby ground water. Fracking can damage the health of citizens because it produces approximately 300,000 barrels of natural gas a day, which can cause health hazards and gets citizens really sick. To
Hydraulic fracking isn 't all good though, there are many controversial things about it. First off, water contamination is a hazard. There are many ways that the water supply could be contaminated by fracking. One way is by groundwater entering through cracks that fracking has made. The water solution that 's pumped into the ground is a mixture of water, sand, and chemicals. Water and sand make up 98% of the mixture, while the remaining 2% is chemicals. Although fracking companies have never realised the chemicals used, scientists studying wastewater have found many harmful additives. A few of these are benzene, toluene, and many acids, all of which pose huge threats to humans. For each fracking well, more than 8 million liters of
The job of fracking constitutes of gas being released to supply both Australia and overseas countries. Administrators and workers take this process seriously as every cubic foot of gas is measured and supplied. Although potential health problems have been recognized, the companies have been focusing on the collection grid and the and the shortage of regional community employees as only 2% of the workforce is applied for the job. Another economical factor is that Fracking is destroying jobs in other industries. These include manufacturing, tourism and agriculture as well as gas related fields. This caused a major problem in for farmers as they live on rent as well as the decrease of jobs is becoming difficult to maintain that wage. Furthermore, as the natural is supplied throughout the world, citizens must pay double or triple the prices in the upcoming years due to this fracking site.
Although Fracking gives us energy it is drilled from underneath the ground which can cause earthquakes. Natural gas is a gas that occurs beneath the earth’s surface. If a site seems promising an exploratory well may be drilled to collect data.In the united states and some other countries oil is drilled right from shales. So in conclusion Fracking is a good and bad thing for the world because it gives humans the energy they need but Fracking also causes a lot of problems.
Fracking is not safe because in the areas where Fracking is taking place, it is causing crimes which isn’t beneficial to the economy, it causes methane to get into peoples water also it is effecting
Another reason why the United States must make fracking illegal is because it can have a negative effect on water sources. During fracking, the fluid, which consists of over 596 toxic chemicals, is pumped into the ground, soon after, once all of the gas is extracted from the operation, some of that fluid stays deep underground, and becomes increasingly toxic as it comes picks up radioactivity, or other underground contaminants (White). These fluids can sink into aquifers and turn water into a noxious mix, even the water that comes back up is almost untreatable after coming in contact with these chemicals (Griswold). Although the dangers are well known, it is no surprise that water sources have already been contaminated due to inattentiveness.
Five million gallons of water has gotten wasted to fill just one fracking well. All of that water when the frack is done becomes contaminated. (Is Fracking a Good Idea?) Once the frack is done a toxic pit is just left there. If the wells that were fracked are not cased properly that hazardous waste can leak into people’s drinking water, or the wells could burst. There are also other options for energy that are renewable unlike crude oil, coal, gas, oil shales, and tar shales. (History of Energy Use) Fracking is not good because it uses large quantities of water, the wells can only be fracked a few times, and it can contaminate water although it is an inexpensive alternative source of energy.
Fracking is a major issue in our world right now, and yet it is still being done. Not everyone knows what fracking is, so let me explain. “Fracking is the process of drilling down into the earth before a high pressure water mixture is directed at the rock to release the gas inside. Water, sand, and chemicals are injected into the rock at high pressure which allows the gas to flow out of the head of the well” (Shukman, David (2015), “What is fracking and why is it controversial?” http://www.bbc.com). There are tons of resources being put into fracking that is actually causing problems of its own. “Each gas well requires an average of 400 tanker trucks to carry water and supplies to and from the site” (N/A (2015),”Dangers of fracking”.
he fracking truth! Everybody acknowledges the bad side of fracking, but nobody gives credit to the beneficial side. Fracking is our best option in certain circumstances. It is way better and releases less fossil fuel than coal. Europe was actually thinking about using coal instead of fracking. By doing they are ruining the Earth at a faster rate. Fracking is also safe because it won’t affect the water as much. The natural gas industry says that fracking gives less effect on ruining our water. Therefore, fracking is more beneficial than the other resources, like coal. Many countries have shale which help with fracking and it’s cheaper. We might as well use the resources that are given to us rather than wasting time and money by trying to use other resources.
While fracking has provided a cleaner fuel, there are many negative effects to the environment, the beef industry, human health and little positive effects. Some of these effects include; ground water being polluted with harmful chemicals, this polluted water can cause extreme sickness in humans. Fracking disrupts the habitats of animals and they have to leave the area to find clean water and a better food supply. Also it has been taking an effect on the beef industry in how farmers raise and sell their cattle. Fracking can have negative long term effects on the people living in the local area and make that area inhabitable.
Even though I would need to do more research to have a more coherent opinion, I believe that fracking should not be practiced in the United States. My opinion is heavily based on the fact that fracking is still such a new discovery and that safe methods have not been identified. Thus, too many people are at risk for being exposed to contaminated drinking water (Jackson, 2014). The methane contamination of the drinking water is very concerning because it is very flammable, which can be incredibly dangerous to the citizens in the affected area (Hoffman, 2016). Thirdly, the amount of pollutants that are released into the atmosphere is not safe for people to inhale. Both children and adults have been exposed to these pollutants, which have had severely negative effects. Lung disease is just one of the major negative health effects of fracking. Cancer and birth defects in infants are other incredibly disabling diseases that affect people in proximity to these wells (Kiely, 2016). Another issue that I find disturbing about the process of fracking is that the waste water wells are disposing of the chemical waste deep into the Earth’s crust. However, some of this chemical waste is disposed of in landfills, which, in turn, pollutes the groundwater (StateImpact, 2017). Overall, I find the process of fracking

what this is talking about how fracking is good and bad.Toxic substances are in fracking fluid and waste-water as well as air pollution from trucks. equipment and the wells themselves along with an increasing number of CNG fueling stations opening throughout the country.Just as plants do today, those living millions of years ago converted the sun's light energy into food (chemical) energy through the process of photosynthesis. Natural gas is most widely used in the industrial and manufacturing sectors chemicals, metals, glass and food processing, among others with its use to heat and power our nation’s homes and businesses expanding rapidly. have been linked to a variety of negative health effects. although fracking creates jobs for people and
Although the process of Fracking seems reasonable because it is something we use in our daily lives for cooking food, heating homes, and amongst other things, the question remains whether it is an actual positive or negative to not only us (not even a question) but to the environment? When looking at the pro side one main reason would be the additional access to gas and oil fracking would give us since “many scientists believe we only had a few years left to use fossil fuels before they ran out” (2015). The second positive effect for us would be the lowering of taxes. With more accessibility to gas and oil it wouldn't be such a demand allowing gas for cooking to lower as well as petroleum for cars. Lastly, it can create a
Fracking brings jobs and money to the United States by fracking . “ The development of marcellus shale is estimated to create more than 111,000 jobs and add $10 billion as the money went to the state's economy in 2011.”( no evidence of groundwater contamination) “In 2008, only 4 percent of United States natural gas production came from "fracked" shale wells.”(Fracking and Poverty)The number of shale wells grew to 40 percent since 2012. Fracking helps the low income people so that the people can afford natural gas for the first time. Fracking helped the United states economy get money since 2011 and employs tons of people. The price of natural gas has went down 66% since 2011 so it is cheaper to buy for the first time. Fracking is making
The new presidency is focused on obtaining more natural resources through fracking in order to become energy independent. Fracking is the process of obtaining natural resources, like oil and natural gas, by drilling into the ground using a mixture of water, chemicals, and sand. However, the presidency has not considered the ill health effects on children. Research has indicated that fracking can pollute the surrounding water and air with dangerous chemicals, which can be detrimental to the health of children. Children are more vulnerable to the damaging effects of fracking chemicals because they are anatomically, physiologically, and developmentally different from adults. Research is still nascent, but possibly risking the health of children
