Background – We haven’t seen a wide spread adoption Augmented Reality in industrial and professional scenarios yet. This is due to the poor computational capability and limited power capacity of current wearable devices which degrade their runtime performance and sustainability (Shi, Yang, Huang, & Hui, 2015). B. Purpose/Audience – The purpose of my research paper is to create awareness and define possible solutions that researchers suggested to improve the working of wearables. 2. Microcontroller is another important component of wearables. It performs sensor sampling, processes the data, and interfaces with other peripherals. 3. Wearables require a wireless transceiver which transmits data remotely to a mobile phone or cloud services for analysis, visualization, and feedback (Shi, Yang, Huang, & Hui, 2015). B. Problems Involved in Traditional Task Executions 1. Wearables are sensitive to energy consumption that is caused by computation and networking capabilities (Lee, Ko, & Choi, 2017). Also, wearable devices, unlike other mobile devices, are required to be always on and always connected with monitoring devices. As a result, they have short battery life. Runtime performance seriously bothers application developers and users for wearable devices such as Apple Watch and Google Glass (Huang, Yang, & Zhang, 2014). 2. Traditional offloading uses remote cloud to offload computation in wearables. In this system, high bandwidth connection with the remote cloud is required for computation which results in time delay. 3. Remote cloud is used in traditional offloading to monitor wearables. There is a potential danger that the privacy of the person is violated by a third party when the application is offloaded to a remote cloud. B. Designing New Task Offloading Techniques 1.
