Ta’shon Rain Little Light, a five-year-old living on Crow Reservation in Montana, complained to her mother that she had an intense stomach ache. Her mother took her to the Indian Health Service Clinic in order to seek treatment for her daughter’s pain; however, the doctor said that her child was depressed and that the stomach ache was all in the little girl’s head. After several months of visits to the clinic with no symptom relief, Ta’shon’s lung collapsed. Ta’shon was then airlifted to the children’s hospital in Denver where she was diagnosed with a terminal cancer. Shortly after, a charity sent the family to Disney World so Ta’shon could see her biggest dream, Cinderella’s Castle. However, the young girl died in her hotel bed the day her family arrived in Florida before she ever got to see the castle. Although it is hard to speculate what could have been prevented if the cancer was discovered months prior to her diagnosis, Ta’shon’s aunt believes that the little girl could potentially still be alive if her doctor would have been able to accurately determine the source of her illness (“Broken Promises: Reservations Lack Basic Care”). As tragic as Ta’shon’s story is, it is not uncommon. “You can talk to anyone on the reservation and they all have a story,” said Tracey Castaway, whose sister is in almost $50,000 in debt due to her late diagnosis of stomach cancer (“Broken Promises: Lack of Basic Care”). Thousands have suffered premature deaths due to the Indian Health

Narrator: In the 1950s and 60s, racial segregation was still prevalent in the United States and Australia. There were many people, including government bodies, who wanted to solve this problem of racism and desegregate the American society. On the 17th of May 1954, the US Supreme Court decided that segregation in America’s public schools was ‘unconstitutional’. So, the US government decided to enrol 9 black American teenagers in the Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas. 5 years later, another African American, James Meredith, decided to enrol in the University Ole Miss in Mississippi. He was twice denied admission, but he filed a law suit against them, with the case eventually settling in 1962. His enrolment received severe backlash,

The 2016 Presidential Campaign candidate, Bernie Sanders, believes in creating a better America. In proving to the American people, rich and poor, how great the country can be if all people vote for who is trusted best as future President of the United States. The political figures in government care about money and wealth, not the people. Bernard Sanders would be the best choice for President for the main reason that he is concerned about the issues in America that create inequality for the people. The issues addressed by this candidate will create social and economic equality.
The piercing, cacophonous wails of an ensemble of curious infants on a mission of exploration. Their small worlds shaken and their trust betrayed by the very caregivers who were supposed to provide and care for them; they have suddenly turned on them and replaced joy with immense pain and confusion (whatever happened to the Nightingale Pledge?). A newfound sense of curiosity suddenly replaced with a fear instilled upon them at an age when exploration is commonplace and discovery is supposed to be encouraged.
Maybe today we woke up on the wrong side of the bed, maybe our routine was messed up, we had a fight with our best friend, or work is getting more and more stressful. Who knows, it's just a bad day, but no matter how horrid the day may seem, it is never as bad as it seems. There are many individuals to whom a bad day for us is a blessing to them, especially if you compare our present-day circumstances to the circumstances in which they are forcibly accustomed to live in. There are individuals that work hard all their lives thinking that if you work hard there is no possible way that you won't achieve your dreams. Ronny is from a small pueblo called Metlaltoyuca located in the state of Puebla, Mexico. He is living proof that you can have all of the right qualities, the right intentions, do absolutely everything right and still not be able to survive in a country that is filled with corruption , social inequality, and bad use of its resources.

Mahatma Gandhi once proclaimed, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Serving others, more commonly known as volunteering, means to freely offer to do something out of the kindness of one’s heart. From helping serve at a local food shelter to going on a mission trip to Costa Rica, there are a variety of serving opportunities around every corner. For centuries, service has shown its importance through a plethora of benefits to both the individual and the world. Individuals who dedicate their time to serve find career opportunities, uncover life passions, and learn character traits that develop them into a valuable member of society in order to benefit to the greater good.
