The symbol I chose for this assignment is God. The reason I chose God is because in the novel “Night” Elie had mentioned Him countless times, which made ‘God’ be significant throughout the novel. God to me means something else, than for Elie. (I have many Gods and Goddess in my religion). For me God is described as a creator with power over nature. The five images I used for the symbol of God are life, forgiveness, love, hope, and peace.
My first picture I chose under the symbol of God is life. This picture of life from God is very important because I believe that everything happens in God’s creation. Without God, there would not be humans or any living things. Without that there would not be any earth. Life is a major symbol for me because

The reason I chose this picture is because it demonstrates life. The little foot resembles reproduction in other words, it represents a new generation to carry out your genes and a part of you.
Connection: My personal view of life from God is something to cherish about. In my experiences people always say YOLO (You Only Live Once) but I disagree. People make unwise decisions which made their life end terribly. I know a friend's brother who had been racing in the streets died in a terrible accident. It is hard to accept that we live to die. Life is precious because we live for a certain period of time we have to be ourselves to the fullest.
My second picture I chose for God is forgiveness. The reason why I chose forgiveness is because God would always forgive you for what you have done wrong. They give me another chance to do better and never make the same mistakes again.
There are many stories that revolve around God that if you do something wrong, it seems that you hurt God in the process because they watch over you and are always around you. Our souls are spiritually connected to them when we pray. When we ask for forgiveness from God(s), it gets rid of the negativity you are carrying within your soul. Others think of Forgiveness as a cleansing

It is the people around me that made me draw closer to God and helped me experience the culture, religion and stories of each of my Gods and Goddess. In most religions, people pray to God is because God gives them love and people in return give back the love. We love God since we respect for their sacrifices they did for us and to give me the opportunity to be in this world today. That’s why I truly love God.
The forth picture represents hope. I chose hope under the symbol of God because when people are in crisis they tend to hope to God for their safety, and for them to be okay. As humans we pay our respects to one another, hoping that God can grant that wish. We also have hope in God that they would guide us to the right dirction in life. We hope since we trust them. They would never leave us or cast us away.
This picture shows a little girl praying to God. She is also closing her eyes, hoping God for answering her prayers. Hope is a feeling of trust or a feeling of a certain desire for things to happen. God would test you to determine if your hope is reliable and if you would keep the hope throughout your lifetime. Hope helps people to become stronger and it also shows respect to God because you know they are there with you and always be with you in your for the good and bad
The path they had to take to get to the building they were going to curved around a pit of fire. People thought they were going to be burned and began to pray. Elie then said to himself, “For the first time, I felt anger rising within me. Why should I sanctify His name? The Almighty, the eternal and terrible Master of the Universe, chose to be silent. What was there to thank him for?” (page 33). One can tell that at this point Eliezer’s faith is disappearing because he feels he is on the brink of death and he starts to think worshipping God is all in
The next symbol is the herb of healing. This is a gift and also a curse that Death bestows upon his godson. Death is willing to help him become a famous, wealthy doctor. Death who is fair, keeps the promise he made his godson’s father long ago, but the herb is used as Death sees it to be used, not the godson. This is spun into action when Death says” When I am standing at their feet they are mine, but if I am standing at their head they are to be healed” (Grimm 12). In Essence I see Death using his godson to help him invoke the ill. This outlines the power struggle that some father -son relationships go through. The father, always wanting what they think is best for the
Later on in the novel two Jewish holidays pass Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Rosh Hashanah is the celebration of a new year and Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement. During these two holidays all of the Jews except Elie celebrated these holidays. While the rest of Jews were celebrating Elie was questioning now if God even existed and if so whys he still allowing all of these deaths and poor treatment of the Jewish people happen. Then at the end of the novel Elie didn’t believe in him anymore. All he could wonder was why would any God allowed so many deaths and cruel treatments to happen.
The most focused on symbol is the black veil. It symbolized hiding dark sins that you wouldn't want other to know about. The minister himself can be also considered a symbol. For the fact that he is a minister. Therefore people are suppose to trust them with personal issues. Mr. Hooper is a symbol of acceptance to everybody's sins. But because he goes around with the black veil people are scared and have unconfidential towards Mr.
The final symbol represented are eyes. It is assimilated in the text in a few ways. Not only is it in the title, but is also represented in the eye of the storm and the way Janie is judged by others. women stared and men noticed her. As they bunkered down during the storm, “six eyes were questioning God” (159). What would be their fate? When would the storm pass? Due to her light skin color and straight hair, Janie perpetually draws attention from both men and
The topic of the image of God is one essential to every human being because it will shape the way in which each individual will look at his or her life. A part of every human’s life is his or her vocation, which will also be changed by the view he or she holds about the image of God. The image of God is the footprint that God left in humans and in no other being in His creation, and it must shape the way in which everyone will look at his or her job.
Overall, I think that miniature pig represents me as a person because I love to eat, relax, and play. Not only an animal, but some symbols also has a compelling meaning in my life. The one symbol that I thought was important in my life was the yellow bright smiley face. First, this symbol me gave me a lesson in my past because it motivated me to be happy during all the circumstances. In addition, I was feeling sad due to some personal problems and as I was surfacing thorugh the web and came across one of the smiley face. It felt like it's are smiling at me cause they are proud of me and that made me happy even though it was a bit creepy.Next, this symbol also applies to my present self because it tells me to hope and makes me smile even during the tough time. For instance, whenever I see the bright yellow smiley face, it gives me a feeling of hope and makes me want to keep going. Lastly, this symbol will not help me now, but also in future because I will be someone
For the very top, my choice was to put a wolf. I chose the wolf consequently of how I am reminded of how a family sticks together no matter what. Wolves travel in a pack and they stay close to each other and help lift each other up. The wolf represents that you should trust your heart and your mind. No matter if they are far away from each other, they can communicate and they always have each other’s
The motivation behind this artwork was the beauty surrounding as and how blessed we are to be living in it. Not only motivation but also inspired by Meredith Andrews singing, “How great is the love of our savior”. This music made me think of what is going on around the world and how there is a greater God watching over us.
Forgiveness is the act of forgiving someone or something. What this means is that forgiveness is a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness. A quote from Luminita D. Savic “People should forgive because forgiveness is an act of strength. You don’t forgive because you are weak, but because you are strong enough to realize that only by letting go of resentments you will be happy and at peace. Also forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself, to be at peace, to be happy and to be able to sleep at night.
One image does this through the representation of an older authority figure teaching two younger men how to fish. He is showing them what is important in their society and lessons that go hand and hand with that. While, in the other picture, “Family Silhouette”, it shows one united family during a sunset. They are representing the connections and bond every family has. Some may hate to admit it, but we all cannot help, but feel that connection between our family. So now let me ask you, where do you think your choices come from? Do you really think you have full control over
I pray because of what I was taught about prayer and because of what I have experienced. Prayer has always been something that was important to my family as well as myself. Prayer was always encouraged and presented to me as a means of communicating with God. If fact, in our relationship with god, prayer is the only thing we have absolute control over. I was taught that prayer was not only a conversation with God but it is the intercourse of the soul with God.
Being able to forgive someone, you are doing it for yourself not for them. It gives you a chance to better yourself. After the wrongdoer does you wrong, forgiveness may be the last thing on your mind. You may feel a variety of emotions, for example: hurt,
This photograph represents Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (KJV) All of us in this photograph are Christian Women who grew up in the church. This was my mother and grandmother dream of us being educated women, now it has surpassed all their hopes and dreams. The reason I believe is because God is a big God. God will show you a life bigger than yourself. As student affairs professional, developing students, it will be my responsibility to make sure each student realized that social justice is all our responsibility. When one of us is oppressed we all our oppressed. Life is not about just me it is about all of us. Faith and God or in something bigger than yourself will play a very important role when life get difficult and sometimes it will. For me trusting in something bigger than myself like God gives me hope in the tough times in life when I feel more oppressed than privileged. In America the freedom to worship God openly is a privilege.
This increase of love allows our mind to feel some sort of satisfaction that good can come out of praying and if one was to die, our faith would tell us that we did our best. In other words, our love towards our faith tends to be one of the strongest lifelines we can posses to reduce the guilt and pain of those around us who are suffering.
