Syllabus Essay In a classroom there are many different elements to being successful. All of which are very important, but very few of them can take you very far in writing and most importantly, life. In English II, our classroom syllabus consists of three notable components, including the grading policy, classroom rules and expectations, and attendance and make up work. These three different elements can help you focus, be motivated, and to be successful in the class and even beyond the class. The classroom rules are very important because it helps everyone stay on task and to avoid anybody getting distracted. In a classroom if somebody isn’t doing what they are supposed to be then so many people are getting distracted, which eventually leads to nobody doing work, so then nobody learns anything. When there is a mutual feeling of trust and respect, then the class can run more smoothly. Additionally, it's very important that we keep our cell phones and electronic devices away and off because although it's a distraction, it also shows a sign of disrespect. Using your phones shows that you're not paying attention and tells your teacher that you don't care. Even having your phone on your desk is just a temptation and one step closer to actually using it. Furthermore, it's known that your …show more content…

Unit 10 was a closure for the previous four units in the process of inventing Canada. This unit based on the earliest resources on Canadian history and on the first nations whom lived in this country. This resources were about pre-Cartier and his explorations. Some nations, for example the people who lived in St. Lawrence valley – whom did not have a specific name to be called at- and historians still lacking enough evidence on their existence or what happened with them. These people who are identified as St. Lawrence Iroquoians were lived in the contact area which means the conquerors reached them first. The Iroquoians were exposed to all the dangers Europeans carried into the native lands, different types of diseases they were not immune

Cruising home in my Honda Accord I knew today was the day, my room for my freshman year of college was to be announced. A few clicks and I was on the website, and for the first time getting a realistic grasp as to what my college experience would look like for the next year. Harrington C Room 306. I sat back for a moment and thought about the hundreds of people who’ve lived inside those very walls, each with different stories to reminisce upon. They each spent their freshman year fighting similar battles all with radically different outcomes. I wondered, what will be my story? I hoped it was perfect
Are you always on your phone? Either Snapchatting, on Instagram, scrolling through your twitter feed? It can be pretty temping to pick up your phone and do this stuff in class but you can use them in good ways in school. George Washington Middle School currently has cell phones banned in class. Although most teachers think that cell phones are a distraction, cell phones should be allowed in class because students feel anxious without their phones, there are many educational uses, and allowing phones is more convenient.

Most schools do not allow the use of cell phones in school or in class, so the school feels like changing their policy of cell phone use might be a bad idea. Students could take advantage or miss use the privilege of phones in class. There will always be students who act out in class, but the school must discipline those who do and reward those who do not.
Year 9 camp is still fresh in my mind. Although it is already a few weeks ago I just can’t seem to forget it. There were so many events that helped me learn more about nature, and more importantly, myself. One such event was the morning of the fourth (4th) day of camp. My group needed to cross the mighty Coorong river to reach the mainland. Why was this event so important to me? Well, crossing the Coorong wasn't designed to be easy. We were paddling across the current which was constantly threatening to send us back to shore or upside down. The instructors had drilled it into us that we were not allowed to stop paddling. This morning showed me that I had strength I didn't even know I possessed.
During the summer between my sophomore and junior years, I was one of four students selected to represent my school and council at the National Josten’s Renaissance conference in Orlando Florida. My fellow students and I learned a great deal about other schools around the country and we wanted to take some ideas back to our school to implement them. One of our key ideas focused on recognizing various students at our high school that constantly achieve remarkable feats, but largely go unnoticed by the school as a whole. Being vice president of my class, I took charge of this initiative and designed a solution to the problem. I advocated that we replace our typical, mundane, class meetings with class rallies, a pep rally type atmosphere for more

Hmm, phones in the classroom! What do you think? That is a debate between billions of people in the world today. Children all over the world have phones, but they can not have them out during school hours. Cell phones are important to so many kids and adults. These devices have been around for so long, and many people can not live without them. All around the school campus, students are miserable without their phones. In the world today, about three-fourths of the U.S. population have phones. A cell phone is an important thing to some people. Without cell phones, kids wouldn't have access to their social media accounts like Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more. So take this into consideration, even if it is in one class, students should be allowed to get on their cell phones during school hours.

In the United States, starting salaries for teachers who have completed a four-year degree are far lower compared to many other professions, which also require a four-year degree. In most states, teachers must undergo testing and other rigorous certification requirements, but they are given the same consideration or status as beginning professionals in other areas. Although attractive incentives are offered, the compensation does not compare to the long hours of work and schooling required for a teaching career.
