In the article “Fear & Loathing in America” by Hunter S. Thompson. The author described the dreadful Tuesday morning including victims, enormous destroyed and the chaos that ensued in the following that day. In addition to declaring the war and the Christian Jihad by this gawker work, he sparked the religious war.
His words will make the American people hate and fear of the other religions especially the Islam. After he said “We are going to punish somebody for this attack … Maybe Afghanistan, maybe Pakistan or Iraq, or possibly all three at once.” (Thompson, 2001, p.9) Instead of these words, he should say we will punish who committed these tragic events and the American people will keep one hand in the face of terrorism. Richard Clarke said in interviews and a book was published in mid-March that Donald Rumsfeld, United States Secretary of Defense, was saying that U.S needed to bomb Iraq while the other members of the cabinet of pressuring aides said “No, no, Al-Qaeda is in Afghanistan.
