In the article “Fear & Loathing in America” by Hunter S. Thompson. The author described the dreadful Tuesday morning including victims, enormous destroyed and the chaos that ensued in the following that day. In addition to declaring the war and the Christian Jihad by this gawker work, he sparked the religious war.
His words will make the American people hate and fear of the other religions especially the Islam. After he said “We are going to punish somebody for this attack … Maybe Afghanistan, maybe Pakistan or Iraq, or possibly all three at once.” (Thompson, 2001, p.9) Instead of these words, he should say we will punish who committed these tragic events and the American people will keep one hand in the face of terrorism. He forgot that the

Richard Clarke said in interviews and a book was published in mid-March that Donald Rumsfeld, United States Secretary of Defense, was saying that U.S needed to bomb Iraq while the other members of the cabinet of pressuring aides said “No, no, Al-Qaeda is in Afghanistan. We need to bomb Afghanistan” then Rumsfeld answered them: “There aren't any good targets in Afghanistan, and there are lots of good targets in Iraq”. (MEED Middle East Economic Digest, 2004, p.2)
Finally, we should ask ourselves this question, who is behind the events of September 11? who is the real mastermind for the fateful day? How terrorists attacked the United States of America in the world with such ease? We must take in account that the United States of America is the most powerful in all the world and It has ‘Star Wars’ missile defense system. Is this an act of terrorism or is it fabricated
Roughly 2,753 people were killed on September 11, 2001, by terrorists who overtook commercial airplanes (Jones). The cause of these thousands of deaths were a series of attacks in New York City by an Islamic terrorist group, Al-Qaeda. However, there are still many questions about what actually happened the morning of September 11, 2001. As there are many different conspiracy theories about what happened that day, 9/11 was an attack which began with Al- Qaeda hi-jacking airplanes, but ended with more questions than answers. Many questions still remain about the authenticity of cell phone calls from inside the planes, why air defense was told to “stand down,” and how three buildings imploded as the result of two buildings being struck by airplanes.
On September 11, 2001 four passenger commercial jet airliners were hijacked and as a result approximately 3,000 human lives were lost. When asked about 9/11, many can recall exactly what they were doing when they heard the news that a plane crashed into one of the World Trade Center (WTC) buildings and many Americans can tell you how it all unfolded and the reason behind such a travesty. The “official story” provided by officials, and restated by Sofia Shafquat, producer of “9/11 Mysteries: Demolitions” say that “four passenger planes were hijacked and taken radically off course, within an hour, two of the planes had flown into the enormous steel towers of the World Trade Center, creating fires and eventually toppling them” (Shafquat).
9/11 was of the biggest “terrorist attack” in the United States History. Many building was destroyed in this single day. The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, the pentagon, and crash in field near Shanksville in western Pennsylvania. The day of 9/11 was a conspiracy.
On the morning of September 11, 2001 life as we know it in America changed forever. 19 men from a Muslim extremist organization known as al-Qaeda hijacked four airplanes with the intent of killing thousands of Americans. Three of the four airplanes hit their targets, the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, the last plane was crashed into a field in rural Pennsylvania after the passengers tried to regain control. These attacks killed almost 3,000 people, injured over 6,000 others, and caused at least $10 billion in infrastructure and property damage. The man behind these attacks was a Saudi Arabian man named Osama bin Laden. These attacks caused mass panic throughout the world, but it also increased patriotism throughout the United States. It also is what got us into the Global War on Terror.
Sam Robert in the article “A decade of fear” argues that Mccarthyism turned Americans against each other. Robert supports his claim by illustrating fear, describing betrayal, and comparing it to other US internal conflicts. The author's purpose is to point out a vulnerable point in American history in order to demonstrate how Americans fell prey to Mccarthy’s propaganda. The author writes in a direct and cynical tone for an educated audience. I Strongly agree with Rogers. Mccarthyism caused Americans to turn on each other because it sparked and strengthened the fear of there being communist spies in the government. As well as inciting Americans to hunt and expose communists or anyone they thought to be communist and plunging Americans into a mass hysteria.
Americans believed that Nine-Eleven was all thought out and planned by Osama Bin Laden but research I found some pretty suspicious and disturbing things and from that research, I was shocked at what I found. My goal for this paper is to inform people that The U.S Government was responsible for the Nine-Eleven attacks because of the failure to act on part of the U.S Defense System.
George W. Bush once said that “Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They see liberty and think they saw weakness.” 9/11 was a devastating day in American history. Men, from the terrorist group Al Quada, attacked America on their own soil for the first time since Japan attack us at Pearl Harbor. But there are some things we can isolate from it. The basic overview of it. What were the terrorists doing to get ready for the day, and what was their major purpose and intention.
E4: Review to how fear drives American politics Fear, it is what drives and motivates us to move forward with productivity or it can push us back, forcing us to live in an eternal past. In the speech “How fear drives American politics”, David Rothkopth speaks of how the United States has reacted to fear and how it’s political leaders have chosen to use it. How American politics have chosen to react to this fear has not only affected America and its citizens, but it has also held an effect on other countries as well. I feel that he has many good points but some bad points in his speech about America’s fear.
The events of 9/11 shocked the nation. One of the most highly acclaimed countries in the world was now lost and extremely vulnerable. The last terrorist attack on American soil had been ages ago dating back to Pearl Harbour in 1945, so far back that most Americans were not even alive to remember the incident. Now our nation was in a state of mourning, a feeling that does not come often. Everyone wondered if this was just the beginning or if it would lead to something more drastic. What was the motive or cause of this event? The answer lies in the past of their leader, Osama Bin Laden. Many critics have claimed that the terrorists in the Middle East just wanted to see us suffer and show that they are superior. Thus, they targeted the most symbolic places in our nation:the World Trade Center, the White House, and the Pentagon. The Terrorist attacks on 9/11, resulting in great devastation, can be traced back to Osama Bin Laden’s home environment, and these circumstances explain Osama Bin Laden and his
People already know who designed the attacks. The terrorist group that attacked was none other than, Al Qaeda and their leader Osama Bin Laden. But, now they just ask one question. Why? Their first target was the World Trade Center, which could be described as the financial capital of the multinational businesses of the United States. The twin towers weren’t only functional centers of finance, but they were also iconic symbols of America’s enormous economic impact throughout the world.
On September 11, 2001, 19 people hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks against their targets.. Two of the planes crashed into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, the third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters. (“9/11 attacks”2010). The conspiracy theories started just days after the September 11, 2001 attack. The conspiracies were easy to spread fast when using the internet and they became more and more elaborate as time went on. The most popular 9/11 conspiracy theory is that 9/11 was orchestrated by the American government.
There is no denying the events occurring on September 11, 2001 changed the world as we knew it. Over 3,000 people lost their lives because of them, and countless others were severely impacted as well. These attacks saw immediate changes to the way people traveled to, from and in America. Most importantly, these attacks were deliberate, precisely planned and executed. But by who? Now, before jumping to the automatic assumption that the 9/11 commision report is completely honest and accurate, please continue reading this essay with an open mind as I shed light on the fact that United States government was actually behind the whole thing.
Ms. Gibbs piece gave a detailed description of how the events affected everyone, directly and indirectly. She writes in detail about the devastation of the area where the Twin Towers were located and how people wondered the area looking for loved ones and for answers. Her focus was on the people of New York and how their lives were impacted by the events and how this one day of events united them forever.
The September 11th attacks also known as 9/11 took place on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Most people agree that the attacks were prepared by Osama Bin Laden himself and several of his Al Qaeda members and that these people had been behind previous attacks on the
On September 11, 2001 the World Trade Center buildings one and two were attacked. However, who we were attacked by and even if we were attacked is a hard decision to make. There have been many different claims about how everything on that fateful day happened. There are facts that we know are true, though; Flight 11 flew into the North Tower at eight forty- six in the morning. Soon after, Flight 175 attacked the South Tower. By the end of the day, both towers had collapsed and other hijacked flights had caused damage. The amount of lives lost on September 11 was substantial; 2,749 people from eighty-three different countries died from the attacks (Facts about the attacks…, n.d.). All in all, America was changed forever.
