In the persuasive commentary. “Curfew A National Debate,” Barbara Bey argues that curfews are a bad idea. According to the author, “Curfews are one of many misguided anti-crime strategies” (474). Basically, Bey is saying when they make a curfew the government will not can not fight the criminals. I disagree with that because the curfews will help to the government to fight with the criminals. Also, Bey herself writers, “Curfew laws usurp the rights of parents to raise their children as they think best” (475). The prohibition of roaming during the night is good and the parents use it to keep their children and can help the parents raise their children to prevent going out at night. I agree because the ban on roaming prevents teenagers from doing
Although having a curfew for it to be illegal for teenagers to be on the streets after ten o’clock p.m. on weekdays or after midnight on weekends would be beneficial in exceptional and deficient ways, many citizens will disagree with having a curfew. The eminently important reason Dierks, Arkansas, should have a teenage curfew is for the security of the teenagers. Another reason is for the parent to have control over their child, instead of their child being undisciplined. On the other hand, having a curfew could hinder maturity.
I agree with much Barbara Bey says, because if we have the curfews our city or country that would be acceptable and nobody will go out at midnight to do something bad. As a result, the author puts it, ”Too many of today’s parents just don’t want to be responsible for their children”
Many parents think that having a curfew is bad for their child because it takes away from their free time. I feel that a curfew keeps them from having time to do illegal actions. Parents that have responded to Are Public Curfews Fair? explain that kids that have curfews take away from their free time. As stated in the text “ Curfews violate a Minors right”.
Job descriptions are a vital part of recruiting and managing employees. These written summaries of jobs ensure that applicants and current employees have clear understanding of their roles and what is expected of them in order to be held accountable. Despite the various job descriptions and posts for new hire, it is imperative that job descriptions be thoroughly written because it will help employees understand the major areas of their job or position and also help attract the right candidates for the job. In this essay, I will be writing on the components of job description with emphasis on the role of Operations Manager with careful analysis of the important facts about the job with respect to the tasks, tools and technology, knowledge,
In many towns, in many states, and in many countries, there are curfews. In The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton, the boys Pony, Soda, and Darry have gone through many crimes that have coincidently occurred during the hours of the night. In the article, “Are Public Curfews Fair?” by ReadWorks, it discusses whether public curfews are fair or not, as the name suggests. A curfew may have helped the characters of The Outsiders, but by the way it looks, there are many reasons that show that curfews wouldn’t have helped the characters.
Many teenagers have a set time they have to be home by their parents. Usually teenagers must be home from dates and nights out with friends by anywhere from 10 o’clock at night to 2 o’clock in the morning. Each parent has extremely different curfews set for their children, based on the individual level of responsibility and trust levels. Some local government decides to set their own curfews, to keep teens off the streets at night and out of trouble. Many people argue whether this actually solves anything, or is even legal to do, since it is taking away a piece of teenager’s freedom. Although there are many good and bad points to enforcing curfews, they should be less enforced because they do not necessarily keep teens out of trouble,
Just because they have a curfew it doesn’t mean that they aren’t going to get in trouble. It may limit the things they do. Which in turn limits the trouble they get in, but it doesn’t stop them from doing things to get them in trouble. (Wylie Tanton said on April 11, 2012 “I personally think teens shouldn't have a curfew because whether or not they have curfew teens still get themselves into trouble, not only during the night. http://www.collegenet.com/elect/app/app?service=external/Forum&sp=42891)
Curfew is a set time which teenagers will have to schedule their activities around. Generally, this curfew doesn’t change and helps your teen to understand boundaries. It is a wonderful idea for teens to have curfews because it teaches them to be responsible and also considerate of other people around them. As teenagers, it is natural for adolescents to feel like their freedoms are being taken away and that their parents don’t know what is best. However, curfew is put in place for the direct opposite, which is keeping teenagers out of trouble. Curfew teaches teenagers time management, it could lower the crime rate in local areas, and it could give teenagers an overall better relationship with their parents. Because of these reasons, I
Do curfews keep teenagers out of trouble? This topic has always been on the cover page of today's newspaper headlines and a hot topic that has been discussed by every family. What are curfews like? A curfew is a time frame given by an authority like a parent or the government to teenagers below 18 to be home before a certain period of time. So, ask yourself, do you think that by implementing curfews into a teenager’s life, he or she would keep out of trouble. Our group has discussed and came to an agreement that curfews really do help teenagers keep out of trouble. Firstly, curfews help teenagers to stay
Anything bad can happen in the daytime, but it is more likely to happen in the dark of night. There are a lot of safety issues that can occur during the night. An intruder has more of an opportunity to attack a teen in the dark. The darkest places in the dark such as dark alleys are very dangerous. A young teen could walk down a dark alley after midnight and get taken within a blink of an eye. It is also very simple for someone to carry a young teen behind a building and beat him or her half to death and possibly even raped. That type of violence can take a massive toll on someone. If this curfew law were to be
Teen curfews violate rights. “Just because young people are out at night does not mean that they are participating in anti-social behavior.”(Do Curfews Punish Innocent Teens? 1). Teenagers are being age discriminated just because they are a certain age doesn’t mean they participate in illegal activity after curfew. There is also no proof that curfews actually make teen crime go down. This makes teen curfews even more discriminating to teenagers. (Do Curfews Punish Innocent Teens? 1). “Opponents also argue that there is no proof yet that youth curfews lower teen crime. They point out that the overall crime rate in the United States is going down—so the recent drop in teen crime is to be expected.”(Do Curfews Punish Innocent Teens? 1).
According to the newspaper article, “ACLU Letter to Detroit City Council: Youth Curfew Proposal Threatens to Transform City into a Police State” by the Targeted News Service in Washington, DC, Michael Reynolds said, "I'm just a kid who wants to be able to go outside past 6 during the summer; I'm not a threat to anyone. I feel like this curfew treats me like a second-class citizen, and I have no idea why" (1). Even though children want to be outside, there is always a trade-off. According to “N.H. City Sounds a Youth Curfew Horn” by Brian MacQuarrie, Karen Corbeil said, “(The curfew) is a good idea. We have young kids running around town causing vandalism. Why wouldn't you want it?” (1). Children may want to be outside, but everyone knows that teenagers can cause a lot of trouble. If cities have teenagers causing vandalism at night, then it makes complete sense to have a curfew law. Next, the article “Be Home by Curfew” by the Baltimore Sun Newspaper says that supporters of Baltimore’s tougher curfew say that parents and children have gotten the message that young people need to be indoors at night (1). Because the curfew law was in effect, parents knew that their kids needed to be inside and even though they want to be outside, they know that they have to be inside by the set curfew time.
Teen curfews discriminate against young minorities and violate the rights of minors, also I think that teen curfews confine all young teens based on actions of a small percentage of our population. Curfews are often needed to prevent teens from getting into trouble late at night and many people argue if parents should be held responsible for this. I understand many parents set up rules and other restrictions for their teens to follow, but I don't think parents should take the liability on what their child is doing. These rules are usually given in addition to control, protect, and teach their teen in order for them to know what's right from wrong. In other states, parents are held responsible for their child's actions. If they let their children out past midnight, they could be fined up to $75 for the first offense. The only way minors could stay out after midnight is if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian over twenty one years old.
The industry of cell phone is one of the greatest growing industries in the globe and has internationally expanded swiftly as rising states emerge. The global industry of cell phone is greatly definite by total market share and the supported price upon the type of product. The industry can be classified in three various structures: the low end, middle end, and the high end. The ability of the industry to enlarge globally is essential as the increase of upcoming markets and the coming forth of new potential customers.
In Plato’s depiction of Socrates, there is a clear distinction between Socrates and sophists. In this essay, I shall argue that this contrast between Socrates and sophist is not as clear as presented by Plato. For this reason, the essay will examine Socrates from Plato's Apology and Meno to consider the reliability of our sources, and contradictions. I will begin by reviewing the term sophist by identifying the typical attributes. I will then consider Socrates' claims that distinguish himself from a sophist, before finally presenting the problem with such distinctions.
