In this heart touching article, “Dying Young,” the author Elizabeth Fernandez enlightens us on all the major death of teens. She shares tragic stories of families and their teenagers’ deaths. She tells readers about suicide, car crashes, homicide, and many more. She does babble on a little bit about the things parents can do to help their children before they decide to suicide himself. She does show she is really biased about suicide and how she blames the parents. She proves how when a teenager dies, it doesn't just affect the family, it affects everyone. In his writing, the reader can really tell that he is biased about the caution we should have on suicides. He gives us insight on the families’ stories, what they went through when their teenagers committed suicide, and the impact of it. He tells readers that suicides are usually a story that is untold. He leads readers to believe that suicide is caused by break ups, but then leads you to think it's more about depression. Because of these statements: "Not everyone who breaks up have attempts suicide, said Fish, the Kearney therapist. The question is why do some teens do it? What's different about them? The answer is often depression. While only a fraction of people who suffer depression die by suicide, major depression is widely accepted as a common risk factor.” The article talks about suicide, which is the third leading cause of death in teens, that’s what my question deals with.
