One of my stronger areas I am good with is collaboration. An example of me proving I followed this well is that I have done well for this course by contributing my ideas and sharing it with my classmates and also giving them my ideas, suggestions and the things I learned from them. Having good collaboration skills will be significant in my career pathways because I know that nobody likes to do work by him or herself when in a group work. Not only will it help you and your understanding, but it is also one of the ways where the teacher will know that the student is willing to learn and share ideas. Another strength I have is Initiative. For example, I love exploring new ideas and go above and beyond then what my task really states to do,
Collaboration is very important in this process. Setting goals requires that a client be truthful about their strengths and weakness. Sometimes we feel we are strong in some areas when in fact we are not. This is why it is important that the case manager establish a relationship with the client to asked questions to determine their strengths and weakness. The client will be more open to discuss their needs and the case managers will be able to guide the client into listing his or her goals that are achievable. Collaboration is also important when writing the objectives, because the case manager will have to be included in the plan.
The two words most often used, ”cooperative and collaboration,” can easily be both applicable to the United States of America and other countries today, and are still often used to describe contract negotiations for the United States of America as well as other countries. (Barnardin & Russell, 2013).
Learning- Learning is another strength of mine. I have always been taught to ask questions as a little boy and as a result this inquisitiveness has formed part of my nature. Some of my hobbies I have learnt about are electronics, tennis skills and the Chinese language.
One of my strengths when I do a paper, is that I am full of ideas, this also plays onto my weaknesses but I’ll get back to that later, I have no problem with coming up with a thesis, and seems to never run out of material, in my head. Another strength that I have is thoroughly reading all material that is handed to me and being able to use my observations skills to pick up key words and mains ideas quickly. I know that a definite strength I have is that I am more of a creative writer, I can write up stories and poetry without losing a single beat.
Collaboration is a theme which relies heavily on interdependence within a group. It differs from teamwork in that it everyone’s actions are united in reaching a goal, as opposed to each individual acting separately to achieve a shared goal- often with a leader in charge. Under collaboration, everyone is equal and has the same role in achieving a goal. This means that there are no members that put in all the work or no work at all. Group members have to be flexible in listening to each other, and they have to respect each other and think together in order to act together. A lot of ideas must be shared, as well as power, and work. I think it is extremely important to know your collaborators well in order to trust them-
Partnering is the first step in a sequential process that fosters collaborative teamwork. Teams not only work well together, but they encourage individual growth and achievement. Define the goals of the partnership clearly at the outset, set and fill the agreed upon roles, and adhere to group norms, mission, and vision. Employees will commit to growth and achievement, especially when they see initial success.
I would collaborate with the unit manager to design the team. We will select diverse champions with different backgrounds, experiences, skills and qualifications. After forming the team, using the similar assessment tools, I will assess the members. This is to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. I would provide the team with the clear idea about the project, purposes, activities included, goals and the timeline to achieve the goals. Depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the members, I will assign the job to the team. The purpose of the activities planned is to make sure the staff are in compliance with the existing policies and protocols of the unit. The team will do chart audits and tracking of the staff activities to ensure the
When I worked at one of my job, it involved working with clients that have disabilities. We had to use collaboration with me and 4 other drivers. For example, we went on an outing at a fair. My supervisor talked to us verbally to give instructions to pick up clients from home and drop off at the fairgrounds. Then we drop off some clients back to the center. I then had to do this again. I was then told to pick up the clients at the center. As drivers we had to do this in a timely fashion because we had limited time at the fair.
For example, my dream career is to be a pediatrician and if I want to be a pediatrician I have to be patient, generous, and loyal to my patients because if I am not patient and if I do not listen to them there might be a conflict. Dependable is one of the most important strengths out of all my strengths that my brother has mentioned. The reason why I think dependable is an important strength is because if you are going apply for anything the first thing that I will look in a person is if they are dependable and will successfully do their career without chaos. The skills that are embodied within me that my brother mentioned are quick learner, organized, active listener and leadership. These skills are beneficial towards me in many ways. For example active listening, organized, leader and quick learner will help me in any field I decide to go in and even in my daily life. Organization is one key skill that will help anyone in any field, they go in from a mechanic to a lawyer it doesn’t matter without organization skills everyday of your career life will be in
Reflecting on the social change agents in action videos, the one I found particularly inspiring the “Power of Collaboration" by Marrian Kunth. This because Kunth a very brave woman succeeds to connect with other people’s power and passion. She proves that when collaboration exists between different people from different places, it is easier for them to connect to each other and work together to make a common change.
The strengths I have: being efficient and organize. I have to have everything a particular manner before I write, perform, or do almost any jobs. Occasionally this can cost me lots of time. The weaknesses that I have are a perfectionist and impatient at times. I was used to working at a substantially faster rate than those around me. Sharing information and interacting with others is when I learn best. Understanding my weaknesses assists me to plan methods to conquer them when I am doing tasks and socializing with others. I must be kinder to myself and less strict about matters being merely so. I also need to be more delicate and comprehensible of others who tend not to take up my perfectionist styles. I also should be patient with people who take longer time to work. Since I have got a tendency to delay works when I do not feel like doing anything, I, therefore, need to create a regular schedule with integrated rewards and times for learning and acquiring assignments done.
Almost all organizations and companies know the required to break and become effective collaborators. Collaboration doesn't happen by small throwing a switch. Instead, organizations and companies must create a culture that accepts shared responsibility and authority for results. The organizations which learn to collaborate are creating competitive advantage on the market which is difficult to do it again.
for me, these talents are represented through my top five strengths that were given to me from a test I took. Two of my signature strengths that I think best fit me and are the ones that will help me be successful are Competition and Analytical. Competition by definition is when someone measures their progress against the performance of others, they also strive to win first place and revel in contests. Growing up playing competitive sports at a young age is what I believe led me to be in the competitor I am now. I think my Competition strength not only best describes me but, it may also be my best feature that I can tie into to my daily life to reach success and the goals I have set forth. Being competitive got me where I am today. I’ve be running for nearly my whole life, this year makes 11 years that I have been running track and cross country and it has truly paid off for me in the biggest ways. I think that having the competitive nature will always help down the line in life. When having the competitive nature my talent is valuable because it will influence and even push people in a group to achieve more than others. I will also bring energy to a group and will be capable of energizing others to move to higher levels of excellence. Also, being competitive also gives me capability of adaptation go different obstacles of life. It often applies to the class room such as seeking out highly competitive people and study with them. You will know that you will push each other to learn more, faster. Because of hardships and challenges I have faced during my running career I feel as if I will be prepared well enough for anything coming fast at a me in life, which will also help me achieve success in the
One of my strengths is my creativity skill. This skill grew into a way for me to think differently as a student. It enabled me the ability to think outside of the box and approach assignments
The best way to identify my skills as a learner is through honest self-reflection. Throughout high school, my greatest strength has been an eagerness to learn. My greatest weaknesses in learning are a lack of discipline in personal habits and an unrestrained use of technology. Time management, procrastination, and lack of following through are all habits I am working on to improve. Accessibility to technology for entertainment is a constant threat to the students of this generation. My personal cheerleader tends to be chai tea latte from Starbucks and a pair of headphones.
