When I worked at one of my job, it involved working with clients that have disabilities. We had to use collaboration with me and 4 other drivers. For example, we went on an outing at a fair. My supervisor talked to us verbally to give instructions to pick up clients from home and drop off at the fairgrounds. Then we drop off some clients back to the center. I then had to do this again. I was then told to pick up the clients at the center. As drivers we had to do this in a timely fashion because we had limited time at the fair. My supervisor continued to keep communicating with us to make sure that we were keeping up with the time. There were different aspects of collaboration. For instance, I picked up other clients for other drivers. And
1. What is the one topic that really stood out to you in Chapter 9- Collaborating in Teams? Why? Chapter nine in our textbook addressed collaborating in teams. This chapter did an excellent job of informing the reader about several key elements pertaining to teamwork. Topics like elements of teamwork, team dynamics and how to improve them, and ways to enhance teamwork. After completing the homework for this week in conjunction with our required reading assignments one aspect of our reading really stood out to me. Learning about the differences between groups and teams in the workplace was very interesting to me. As learned, there are several fundamental differences between groups and teams. Some of the components of a group are: roles
It is important to consult family, friends, carers and parents when planning person centred support. Every day you should work in partnership with those you support, their families, health professionals and your colleagues. You are working with them so that the individual can fulfil their dreams and ambitions, and so that you can assist them with their particular needs. Most family carers have a wealth of knowledge and experience about their family member. They know their likes and dislikes, their personal history and any particular medical needs. They are often more than happy to share what they know with new workers. A major aspect of partnership working is bringing people together in an atmosphere where this is simply the accepted way of
Collaboration is very important in this process. Setting goals requires that a client be truthful about their strengths and weakness. Sometimes we feel we are strong in some areas when in fact we are not. This is why it is important that the case manager establish a relationship with the client to asked questions to determine their strengths and weakness. The client will be more open to discuss their needs and the case managers will be able to guide the client into listing his or her goals that are achievable. Collaboration is also important when writing the objectives, because the case manager will have to be included in the plan.
The two words most often used, ”cooperative and collaboration,” can easily be both applicable to the United States of America and other countries today, and are still often used to describe contract negotiations for the United States of America as well as other countries. (Barnardin & Russell, 2013).
Problem-solving and collaboration are critical strengths for success in a fluid, diverse environment such as the PRA division. As a student-athlete, I have grown to view time-management, commitment, and cooperation as imperative skills for success. Through Riley Dance Marathon and Special Olympics, as well as a visit to Indiana University’s health care facilities at the epicenter of the HIV epidemic in Kenya, I have discovered my passion and desire to work within the healthcare industry. As a kinesiology major I have a strong background and interest in the medical field that will place me ahead of my peers and push me to excel in your company. Lastly, I firmly believe an experience in the PRA division at Eli Lilly, paired with a liberal arts

Partnership working is mutual understanding between individuals, partners, and groups who ultimately operate together to find a common goal. In the setting, ‘Castleton Playgroup’ the staff need to work in partnership together to achieve to support families and children, they achieve this by using efficient interaction and communication, this is essential because important information needs to be discussed about the child, for example, if there are allergies or Additional Learning Needs. The results if partnership working is successful in this particular setting is rewarding. The staff is more involved and up to date which will fundamentally help boost team morale, it also means that they are sharing risks, creativity and resources this means
Collaboration is a theme which relies heavily on interdependence within a group. It differs from teamwork in that it everyone’s actions are united in reaching a goal, as opposed to each individual acting separately to achieve a shared goal- often with a leader in charge. Under collaboration, everyone is equal and has the same role in achieving a goal. This means that there are no members that put in all the work or no work at all. Group members have to be flexible in listening to each other, and they have to respect each other and think together in order to act together. A lot of ideas must be shared, as well as power, and work. I think it is extremely important to know your collaborators well in order to trust them-
Our daily usual task would be to print T-shirts and work as a sales person. I had 3 other co-workers that were working with me. I would break down the task we had to do and assign specific parts to each employee. Boys were allocated with printing, moving boxes of prints and clothes and managing the stock room. Girls were assigned with mostly hanging the clothes, folding the T-shirts and talking to the customers. But at that times we would rotate the task so no one gets bored of doing the same thing everyday. This helped in building teamwork and communication. Working co-operatively like this increased the
Within this assignment I will be discussing the importance of working in partnership within my workplace. Working in partnership is a key component of practice within health and social care settings. Within the workplace we work in partnership with staff, care managers, doctors, nurses, resident’s advocates in order to ensure that the best interests of the residents are met. Communication between all agencies and partnerships is what essential for effective partnership. It is vitally important that each member of the partnership understands their own roles and responsibilities in order to benefit there patient. Effective partnership helps improve the quality of care and helps achieve an organised service.
I would collaborate with the unit manager to design the team. We will select diverse champions with different backgrounds, experiences, skills and qualifications. After forming the team, using the similar assessment tools, I will assess the members. This is to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. I would provide the team with the clear idea about the project, purposes, activities included, goals and the timeline to achieve the goals. Depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the members, I will assign the job to the team. The purpose of the activities planned is to make sure the staff are in compliance with the existing policies and protocols of the unit. The team will do chart audits and tracking of the staff activities to ensure the

13th July 2014, World Cup Football. Germany won the World Cup in the legendary game outshining Argentina. The Argentinian team is known to have the most talented football stars around the globe (Messi among them). Yet despite this, the German team triumphed because they worked together as a cohesive team. Teamwork is not only needed to win football games. In clinical research, the ability for stakeholders to work together as a team is critical to ultimately developing together better treatments for patients. For no matter what our individual role is within the world of clinical research, we all have one common goal –to improve patients’ lives.
Realizing that a group can become a high performance team is important. Accomplishing this goal is invaluable, advantageous and profitable. Once able to operate from a group to the high performing team is a great step into preparation into the big business world. Leaders and members must also realize not only how to accomplish this but that some problems will and can arise from different demographic characteristics and cultural diversity. That is if one is in such a group, which the probability would be quite high.
The increase of globalisation over the years has made our world increasingly interlinked. The way in which we communicate, live our lives.....everything has become more and more interrelated. Consequently, we have adapted to this way of life by creating groups, starting as early as our families, to working collaboratively at school with our friends, which continue to develop within our communities and onto the work place. Within these groups exist collective life which we have been training for particular at a young age. (ref?) and we will most likely CONTINUE working collaboratively (excluding the odd hermit!). HENCE, cooperative work is a crucial element in all aspects of our lives. For these reasons,
