2nd Timothy is a letter written to Timothy. In Paul’s letter suffering is one of the themes communicated in this book. The focus of this essay will be in chapter 2. In 2nd Tim. 2, Paul urges Timothy into taking part in suffering for Jesus. Paul then explains the purpose and benefit of suffering using three metaphors. In the book of 2nd Timothy we see that although suffering for Jesus puts you in positions of shame, sharing in the burden of suffering is required for following Jesus (2:3-6; 3:12).
I stood up, looked the jock in the eye and shouted, “Stop it! How would you feel if everyone was making fun you?” Then quickly I ran to the nearest adult and explained all that had happened. They tracked the bully down and let's just say he was in deep trouble. I looked side to side frantically searching for Tommy, and worried for his well being. With the help of some friends, I soon found him in the corner of our library hunched over crying. I myself had never experienced such a traumatic crisis. Calmly I tapped him on the shoulder and lead him to the nurse's office trying to keep my own tears in. With much confusion, he looked up at me and said something I will never forget “Why did you decide to stand up for me, you barely know me? In that moment I looked back at him and responded “I believe in Courage, that when we go out of our comfort zones it can truly impact someone else. I also know that if something like this ever happened to me I too would want someone to stand up for me.” He smiled, dried his bright blue eyes, and simply said: “Thank
TIM is a 21-year-old college student. He lives in a dorm with two roommates. He writes short stories as a hobby and to keep himself occupied on lonely Friday nights. Moreover, he drives a 2001 silver Honda accord with a 2008 Obama bumper sticker. Tim is a very compassionate person because he cares more about other people than himself. But that can be his downfall because Tim is gullible. He trusts people too easily and sometimes they take advantage of that fact. His roommates are always late on their rent because Tim always lets them slide believing that they would pay him next time. As a result, Tim would have to work extra shifts to pay his share and his roommates’ share.
Once there was a very active 14 year old boy named Joseph Brook. He and his dad ran a plumbing business. His day was viciously abusing him, so Joseph had a lot of bruises all over his body. One day, Joseph and his dad went to a extremely nice house which was owned by lawyers. In the gigantic house, there was a funny and friendly 14 year old girl named Madison. When Joseph and his father arrived at the house, Joseph met Madison. They started to hang out the rest of the summer before Madison had to go to prep school during the year, but not on the weekends because her parents were there. Joseph walked 7 miles to and from her house just to spend a couple of hours with her. During her school breaks and after school, they would skate on the ice and make snowballs and
During development, a child passes through stages that could affect them negatively or positively. This includes going through stages where the child is exposed to influences that shape who they would become in the future. Timothy is an example because of his background and because of the challenge that he faced when growing up trying to understand his sexuality. The three concepts that could applied to Timothy’s challenge are gender schema, formal operational stage, and identity v. role confusion. All three concepts influenced Timothy’s behaviour and reaction which, at the end, resulted in him learning who he really was.
The next morning, Tommy woke up to a new angel food birthday cake. When he went out to burn the trash before school, he forgot something. So his sister Mary Lou went out to burn it for him. When she lit the fire, she got caught on fire too. So her mom rushed her into the car where a fire blanket lied on the floor. She wrapped it around Mary Lou. Then she took off for the hospital. When Tommy found out that Mary Lou would not come home soon, he knew he would have to do the paper route. After a couple of days, he got used to it. But one day at school the teachers told Tommy and Eddie to go buy some chalk from the Little Skinny’s (his real name is sam and they bullied him) dad’s store. When they got to the store, they saw some really cool Yo Yos.
For journal 10, I wrote about Thomas, a nine year old boy, who lived with his mother. Here, I am going to take him away from this setting.
One sunny morning Shawn and his friend Joe did the usual routine of going to school. It was a private school. They would get up take a shower, then they would get dressed. After they would get dressed, they would meet up in the town park and decide where they were going to get breakfast. Shawn said let's go to McDonalds so they went and got breakfast. After they ate, they would start on the two mile hike to school. On their way to school they would run, play tag, and just have fun because having fun at their school was prohibited.
Lois the grandmother of Timothy and Eunice was Timothy’s mother. There is not a lot told about these two women in scripture. From the bible we can clearly see they were Christian women. I would personally say that their lifestyle of being faithful followers of Christ was noticed in their lives by the way Paul spoke well of them and esteemed them highly so much that he told Timothy, “ Your mother and grandmother has such genuine faith that I see that same faith in you. Their faithfulness in serving God was so unique that it was obvious to Paul that Timothy had inherited that same zeal for God. Not only was Pauls’ statement about Timothy true, Timothy would prove to be a faithful companion and son in the faith. Timothy’s name means “Honoring
