John Hopkins Admission readers, I have enough experience and skills to be successful in medical school and to become a nurse. I have taken many medical classes in middle and high school. I have taken a class to be First Aid and CPR certified. I volunteer at the nursing home when they need me too. I am in a club that deals with medical, the club name is HOSA. The club is mainly about what jobs and life will be in the real world. HOSA sponsors many medical organizations that helps me see the different types of medical problems in the world or in United States. I have about three months of First Aid and CPR experience and I different pick up a lot of skills during the course. I know how to properly wash my hands and not to spread gems. I know
Succeeding in medical school will require a tremendous amount of perseverance and passion. No one gets into medical school without demonstrating perseverance and overcoming the challenges that occur throughout the journey. I have persevered through being denied admission during a previous application cycle and throughout difficult coursework while pursuing a master’s degree. Not only did I overcome the challenges that I faced, but excelled academically, at my job, and in extracurricular activities. By continuing to pursue my dream I was exposed to numerous experiences and underwent significant personal development. I understand that medical school will present very difficult material and more frequent challenges, but my goal is to be a physician
When I decided to become an engineer, I thought hard on what that entailed. I saw myself working on hands on projects with a skill and proficiency that I could truly be proud of. That's why after listening to the presentation for Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology in my freshman year here at Texas A&M I knew that this major was the best fit for me. The mentioning of learning how to manufacture and produce things from conception to finished product was very exciting to me. I also appreciate that the education is very application oriented rather than just teaching theoretical content. I feel that this directly prepares one for a future career in industry and this sense of job security is what really attracted me to this engineering
I am applying to the MD/MPH program after experiencing four years of undergraduate coursework to receive a degree in public health. The coursework as an undergraduate greatly drew my interest to things such as epidemiology, microbiology, environmental health, and global health. I was introduced to the importance of population health and preventative care, as well as the social aspects of health and the disparities stratified across populations. I believe that the rigorous undergraduate coursework I completed exemplifies my competence in terms of public health and suitability as a candidate for an MPH. I also had opportunities to have real-world experience related to public health, more specifically I have worked as an infectious epidemiology
I would love to be part of the Cypress Lakes HOSA officer team because I want to be able to be part of leading this organization further into success. I have been part of this organization for two years and cannot see myself not doing it next year. I have also spoke to several current officers about holding such an important responsibility and have decided I am capable of doing it. Additionally, I want to be able to help others recognize their capabilities as a person and as a leader. I am passionate about the medical field and feel that HOSA can help others realize the many opportunities this field can bring.
After graduation I will be attending National Park College for the RN to BSN degree program with dual admission to Henderson State University. I plan to become an RN with a Bachelor's degree and gain field experience before going back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. To prepare for these rigorous classes, I have already taken the Level 1 Med Pro class offered by National Park to high schoolers and am currently taking the Level 2 class provided as well. Through this Level 2 class I have also become a Certified Medical Billing Specialist (CMBS) and a Certified Medical Records Technician (CMRT). I will also be taking the test to become a Registered Medical Assistant this year. With these certifications I plan to gain work experience in
This school year, I want to get more involved with clubs and athletics that interest me. I am in HOSA and Student Government; which I would like to run for a office in Student Government at the end of the school year. I was also apart of the football and basketball teams and I am also going to try to be on the track team. Furthermore, as the year progresses, I want to receive all A's in my classes (have succeeded so far). In English this year I am going to further my reading and writing skills. To do so, I will need to practice these skills continuously which I feel that I can accomplish.
In order to begin my journey towards my post-secondary education, I must first finish the goal at hand which is to graduate high school. Currently, I am on course to reach my goal of graduation with a perfect unweighted 4.0 GPA. In addition, I am enrolled in my high school nursing assistant program which I will earn a certification for in June. Upon completion, I will be attending Lenoir-Rhyne University to take part in their Physician Assistant program in order to obtain my goal of becoming a Physician Assistant. I have always dreamed of having a career that will require a life-long pursuit of knowledge; medicine is constantly evolving and diseases are constantly changing, making it the perfect type of career. Due to my passion for medicine

Everyone has a dream or something they want to follow in life. Some want material gain while others want to help as many people as they can. I’m not saying wanting material gain is a bad thing, but what I am saying is that for me, money is not the number one concern when my dream is to help others. My hunger to help others only grows by the day. Because of what’s going on in the world we live in today, I believe that it is important that those who are less fortunate than others have the assistance they need to get to an even playing field, health-wise, with others.
Because of my mother’s and sister’s involvement in the medical field, I have gained a personal connection with wanting to continue in their footsteps. I am going to attend The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) to pursue my career as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I would like to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in order to provide the best care for small children. I recently obtained my Certified Patient Care Technician certification while in high school, which means I am certified to work in a hospital. The next step is attending at UAB where there is a rigorous academic curriculum, the Pre-Nursing Dean’s Scholar program, for students whose main objective is nursing. I am currently in this program, which is one stepping
While most students may have an identity, an interest or a talent that defines them in an essential way, I do not. My identity and multiple interests and talents have all culminated in framing who I am, my passions, and more importantly my college and career goals. My academic achievements has consisted of an Academic Award of Excellence in Medical Microbiology. I received a Masters grade level measure on the STARR U.S. History test; which means I did 99 percent better than everyone else who took it. For the summer of 2017 I was one of four people from Hendrickson High School accepted into the University of Texas Dell Medical School Health Sciences Summer Camp.
When I visit the Children’s Hospital, I see children who have hope. Barely every 30 seconds a child dies of malaria and so many children are suffering from different health problems. I would like to be there for these children and be part of the reason for them getting better in their health. My short term goal is gaining my Bachelor’s degree in nursing and my long term goal is becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner someday. I know getting this degree will help me move a step further to reaching and fulfilling my goals. At the moment, I am taking some of the general education requirements and elective classes for the university I would like to transfer to. To be a nurse in general, I know there are so many requirements one has to undertake, but some of the most important ones are biology, anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and psychology. All these courses helps to prepare me more for the nursing program and career ahead of me. Biology is a prerequisite that helps in understanding many of the fundamental courses in health related courses and it is a required course for almost all sciences. I have a GPA of 3.90 and working as a part-time, I am so much dedicated that I am doing so well to maintain a good GPA so I can make it in my
I was born in Fairfield, California but not long enough to stay and enjoy the place. For I've been a military brat almost all my life.
