Usually, when the Fall comes around in Dallas, it means one or two things. The Grambling State University (GSU) Tigers vs. the Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) Panthers’ game and the State Fair of Texas. By all means everything fell into place on October 1, 2016. The beautiful backdrop from the Texas Star (Ferris Wheel) is in the distance. The aromas from the great foods of the State Fair of Texas was in the air. It started out as a slow sloppy third quarter until Mississippi State had a chance to score. Although Mississippi State had a chance to score, their field goal kicker missed wide left. Everyone in the stands was very upset as we know we may not get another opportunity. Then things soon got incredibly worst. Ole Miss got a chance to score just as Mississippi State did with a field goal. Unlike Mississippi State, Ole Miss capitalized on their opportunity and scored at the end of the third quarter. Nervously, we got ready for the fourth quarter. Although our nerves did go away when Dak Prescott finally stepped on the field. The stands went crazy as Dak anticipated the first play. Dak helped move the team down the field into scoring position before being stopped by the Rebels. My heart dropped as I saw the field goal unit come out on the field to attempt another field goal. Everyone in the stands held hands and got very quiet. The kicker booted the ball as it floated through the uprights. We could not believe our terrible kicker made the field goal. The crowd went crazy as this game was headed to
The Wolverines started with a handoff to their running back, De'Veon Smith, who gained six yards. They would run the ball for the next two plays, but they didn't find any luck, and they only gained three more yards. They ended the drive with a field goal, therefore making it 3-0. Clemson wasn't able to answer back with a score, and that began a long stretch of three-and-outs for both teams. This surprised the fans, as neither team could find an answer for their offensive struggles. But then out of nowhere, Michigan’s Wilton Speight was able to connect with his favorite receiver Amara Darboh, for a 45 yard gain. This play ended the first quarter, but Michigan now had momentum, and they were looking to grow a bigger
The part of the Grandstand that we are going to now is the main building. It consists of two floors of merchants selling all sorts of things, from pianos to software to golf clubs to the latest cooking gizmos. A friend of ours works at the Nadachair booth. He is my sister’s friend’s teacher. We usually visit him every year. A Nadachair is basically a cushion for your back with a strap around your waist for extra support. The East Room is just a separate room with more of the same stuff. I usually don’t go there because it is uncomfortably hot in there. The main building and the East Room are under the bleachers.
